The staff were somewhat welcoming, the room was clean and the beds were comfortable but when all is said and done it is really just a typical motel and like most motels it is older and could use some TLC. The room was big enough but the bathroom was so small that you had to step in behind the toilet (or into the bathtub) in order to close the door. No breakfast, no coffee maker in the room and no coffee even in the office - but if you mention it they will give you a Tim Horton's coupon to walk across the street for a coffee and a bagel. I have stayed in dozens of hotels and motels over the years and I felt that The Westway was just an overpriced motel. The problem is that there is not much to choose from in the area.

Have stayed here several times and it is a fantastic find. Modern, comforting decor. Beds and pillows are super, super comfortable and bedding is CLEAN! No perfume is used to launder bedding or cleaning of rooms so great for perfume allergy sufferers like me. Highly recommend.

This motel surpassed every expectation I had of a motel in Cochrane. The cleaners are obviously fastidious as the rooms were unbelievably clean and tidy. The location is great as it is close to the railway station, various restaurants and grocery stores, all walkable. And the rates were a pleasant surprise. I found most motels and hotels are priced high in Northern Ontario but this motel is very affordable (plus it is so clean and tidy). If you are looking for a comfortable room with a great price this is the place to stay. (btw I love the sign in the office..."people that stay here buy sleep" inferring that late night revelry and noise is not tolerated. We very much appreciated that caring for their customers.) Let me start by saying that the Westway Motel isn't cheap, but you get what you pay for. The room I had was large, super clean, bright, and features all sorts of amenities. I would also like to note that the shower was fantastic, and I don't know why other places can't all have such a great shower head. The property is large and there are a lot of rooms, but I never had a problem with noise, even with Highway 11 close by. Tim Hortons is next door, and there is an A&W and Subway across the street and down the road. The Westway is the kind of place that is a good choice whether you are just travelling through or staying multiple nights and exploring Cochrane. There is a lot to do in the area and I would recommend staying here if you are considering a multiple night stay.

Traveling from Alberta to Nova Scotia. WestWay Motel was definitely one of the nicest & cleanest places we stayed the night. Very nice accommodations! Well priced & welcoming service. Would definitely recommend this motel & will return in the future.

Clean well run motel stayed one night on business will stay there again. Cleaner then the chains I usually stay at. I would recommend it to families and friends who travel north its owner is very helpful.

we spent 3 great nights Feb 26-28-15 at the Westway, rooms were warm, clean and comfortable, super location close to A trail & Tim's, great value, staff were friendly and accomadation, lots of parking for trailer, plan to head back in March. Thanks Jamie & Lynn

Best for your buck in Cochrane in my opinion. It was -25+ when we were there. The rooms were clean we stayed for two nights and it is way cheaper then the Best Western. It is dated so if you are into all crazy new amenities then good luck finding that in the area. The room was clean, warm, and quiet. We were on Sleds so we could park right in front of the room door. You are close to Tim's for breakfast. This motel is what it is and at $85- 110 a night depending on the room it may be for you. Thanks WestWay for two good nights in a cold town.

After being stuck at the horrible North Adventure Inn for one night, a lady from the Trading Post Store recommended I try the WestWay. I was more than pleased! It was clean, smelled good and comfortable. The owners were more than friendly and accomodating. Prices were very reasonable.

Having read the reviews for multiple motels in Cochrane, we chose the Westway Motel. It was exactly as the good reviews stated. The Queen room was $99 a night for 2 people. It had a comfortable bed and quality sheets, microwave and fridge. The bathroom has been updated and the whole room was spotlessly clean. Flat screen TV and a loveseat for 2 to sit, eat and watch. We were in the block of rooms that had a hall in the middle and out in the hall was a microwave, ice machine, pop machine and ironing board for those who didn't have them in the rooms. The place was filled with snowmobilers!! and things weren't to loud so we were lucky :) The lady at the front desk was very helpful and friendly.
