Contacted the owners on short notice to accommodate a family of four during a busy hockey tournament. Service was fantastic and very welcoming. Got in our room within 5 mins of checking in. Rooms are very clean. Service is fantastic!! Definitely the best hotel on Cochrane. We are definitely coming back. Highly recommend to anyone.

Good clean recently freshened up rooms. Comfortable beds. They do have a large parking area for staging out of but it does tend to get filled up quickly by the looks of it. There's a small trail out back leading to the main snowmobile trail. Every room has a block heater extension cord hanging from the soffit out front.
No coffee machine the rooms but - no sweat though as there's a Tim Hortons right next door. Swiss Chalet, Harvey's and gas right across the highway. Do yourself a favour and check out JR ribs which is about two blocks away. Their honey garlic ribs are absolutely FANTASTIC!

This is the place to stay while snowmobiling in the Cochrane area, located close to the trail, beside Tim Hortons and close to fuel. Brian is always accommodating and the rooms are kept clean by the excellent staff

We can't say enough about the Westway! The warmth when we arrived was fabulous. The staff arranged to have our room cleaned next so we could check in early. The rooms are clean, and there is every amenity you could need. Proximity to trails and restaurants is great. Not to mention Tim Hortons! Every snowmobile trip in cochrane we'll be staying here.

Room was ample, convenient and everything worked well. Parking was good, manager/owner was very helpful and friendly. Water was good temperature and quick. especially appreciated after a ride in -26 -28 C. Place even had individual plug ins for guests outside and I noticed that the Motel has been upgraded with LED lighting indoor and out.

We used The Westway as our hub for a snowmobile trip in the last week January 2017. The rooms are super clean, warm, and cozy. Once we got all our gear into the room, there wasn't a lot of extra space but we managed. Lots of hot water and decent water pressure. Bryan and Cathy were very helpful and were in touch with the local snowmobile club and knew where there were logging operations and trails to avoid. Loved that we could park the 2 sleds right in front of our room. There's no restaurant onsite, but Tim Horton's is right next door for breakfast, and we checked out some good local restaurants for dinners. There is a microwave and a mini-fridge in the room. The trail runs right past the back of the motel, and gas is available across the highway, or else beside Tim's on the same side. Side note: The Westway sponsors a trailside outhouse on the Cochrane side of the canyon loop. Very impressed by that!

I have stayed at the Westway several times on past trips through the North. Frankly I expected the place to be a little tired, but I was pleasantly surprised by the maintenance and recent updates. The bathroom had been redone, the beds were clean and comfortable. My friend and I shared a non-smoking room, but you could still smell a hint of smoke from bygone days. It wasn't overpowering, but anyone with a severe allergy or reaction should probably check the rooms first. We found that once we put the fan on to bring in fresh air the smell was barely noticeable. The manager was very friendly and helpful, and as we were returning from a canoe trip we were delighted to learn that he and his family could offer a shuttle service (prearrange!) for canoeists accessing some of the great northern rivers. At $110 for a night it may not seem "budget", but we figured the law of supply and demand comes into effect up there. Also, we noted the upgrades and efforts to maintain the hotel, so didn't begrudge the owner/operator needing to recoup his investments. We wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Westway again!

My Boyfriend and I came up to Cochrane, Ontario for a week to take in the scenery. We stayed here at the WestWay Motel and really enjoyed our stay. The room was very spacious, clean and quite. The only problem was our bed squeaked so when ever one of us got up in the middle of night it woke up the other person. On the good note, there is a Tim Hortons rate next door ( 2 minute) walk. There is a Grocery store, Subway, Swiss Chalet in walking distance from the motel. If we ever come back up to Cochrane we will definitely come back.
