I decided to bring my son to Kesagami for his 9th birthday. Charlie and his staff went above and beyond to ensure me and my young son were well looked after. To the dock hands great job ensuring our boat was in top shape prior to every departure, to the cleaning staff thank you for organizing and cleaning our room daily, to the waitresses and bartenders thank you for the exceptional service, to the cook hats off to you for making my boys birthday special by making him a cake and homemade ice cream, and also checking in on us at every meal to ensure all was well and last but not least Ben thanks you for his hand fulls of chocolate bars that you gave him daily on his trip, your amazing, and last but not least Charlie thank you for getting us in on short notice and making this a trip of a lifetime. The fishing was fantastic my son caught a 42.5 inch Northern and we caught hundreds of walleye. Again thank you to all you are a great team. Anyone thinking of bring young children on a fly in this is the place to be! Ben and Collin Weir

We just came from Kesagami.. miss it already!! No cell phones, wi fi or TV.. our family had to spend time together. We all fished and had a great time. The off shore lunches are the highlight of the trip. Charlie and the team are wonderful.. guides are patient with the rookie fisherman! They were very expirenced, Jake, Tom, Gary and Collin did a great job getting us to where the fish were. Even thou I caught the least number fish, the scenery was wonderful, so relaxing and refreshing. The wait staff are great, food was wonderful! Our waitress, Courtney went out of her way to memorize all of our names. She was great. We really had a great time, can not recommend this place higher. We have been fortunate to travel to many places, this place is magical and would rate as one of the highest!

Charlie and the folks he hires are all first rate as guides and companions. John was with us for 2 days of really bad weather, high winds, huge waves and cold temperatures. He insured that we enjoyed the conditions even though the fish weren't biting. The next couple of days when the weather settled we caught 40-50 fish per boat, casting for northerns. Some guests caught over 100 walleyes jigging, but we went for the big ones, although we only caught mid 30" of less. The 'hotel' rooms are very nice for a remote resort, the lodge is super and the food is excellent. If you are interested in a true adventure, perhaps dealing with high winds, and waves and catching lots and lots of fish with a fantastic team this is must do. Most guests are repeat and would never go anywhere else, once you are there you will know why.

I have visited most of the top full service Trophy Pike Lodges in Manitoba and Saskatchewan and I would say that Kesagami ranks as my favorite fly in lodge in Canada. First and foremost for me is that the trophy pike fishing is as good or better than any other lodge I have been to in Northern Manitoba or Saskatchewan and I have been to best that those areas have to offer. My son and I caught lots of large pike and saw twice as many as we caught. This is no doubt a product of the effective and smart conservation policy of single barbless hook policy that has been in place for a long time. The pike in this lake are by far the healthiest and fattest pike that I have EVER seen including the medium sized fish (30 to 38 inches) and the fish over 40 inches are in a totally different class as another angler caught a 45 inch pike off of the lodge's dock that was about 31 pounds when we were there. The walleye fishing is no doubt the best I have ever experienced for numbers of fish. I measure the quality of walleye fishing by how long it takes me to get enough for a shore lunch and every day we had more than enough within fifteen minutes of fishing for them. In speaking with the other guests who targeted walleyes for the whole day they were catching and releasing between 200 and 300 walleyes per day and after seeing it for myself I believe them. The walleye fishing was so hot at one point I replaced my twister tail with a piece of licorice and got a fish to bite :). Again another example of the smart catch and release program. The lake itself is huge, shallow and what impressed me the most are the characteristics of it. Even though its a shallow lake there tons of whitefish, ciscos, and of course walleye which explains the huge girth and health of the pike. There are many large pike bays all over the lake that are loaded with cabbage weed beds and reeds that all held quality fish. We found those to be very productive in the afternoons and evenings when the large fish seemed to go very shallow to feed. In the mornings we found the pike to be just outside the bays staged on the numerous wind swept points and rocky shorelines with the walleyes. Find the walleyes and you find the pike as I would estimate that 40% of the pike over 40 inches that were caught while we were there were caught on jigs while walleye fishing. Considering all of this I would say its a perfect pike and walleye fishery. There are lots of great fisheries in Canada but what separated Kesgami from all of the others I have been to was the total experience that the entire staff strives to achieve every day. I never walked past a staff member who didn't smile and say hello to me and my son. The shore staff was so accommodating and willing to help us with anything we needed. We fished with four different guides throughout the week and every one of them was a top notch fishing guide and most of all they were all great fishermen themselves that knew every nook and cranny of the lake as well as what baits and tactics to use to catch the most fish possible. They made the most amazing shore lunches and what impressed me the most was we were in and out of lunch within an hour every day!!! Unlike any other lodge I have been to the guides are willing to stay out until 7:00 PM to fish or will go out with you after an early dinner until 9:00m at no additional cost!!!! Special thanks goes out to Matt who guided us for three days and was the best all round guide we ever had in Canada. The lodge building itself is "elegantly rustic" which matches the surrounding area perfectly. The food was excellent and plentiful. We stayed in the lodge motel style rooms and they are exactly what we needed after a long day of fishing, had 24 hour electricity and excellent showers/toilets. The grounds around the lodge were very clean, building well maintained, and they had nice benches all around the facilities to just sit and watch the incredible views of the lake. I attribute this excellent service, organization and trophy fishery to the long time leadership of the lodge manager Charlie McDonald. He knows what we fisherman want in a Canadian fishing lodge trip and he and the staff deliver on it. Prior to arriving at Kesagami Charlie tried to explain the "total wilderness experience" that he and his staff aim to achieve and after my trip I now know and understand exactly what he is talking about. The value that we received for our money was second to none compared to the other "5 star lodges" we have been to. Considering all of this I cant think of reason not to give Kesagami a 5 star rating.

This year Ihad my best fishing experience ever! I caught 18 Northern Pike over 40” in 6 days and my buddy caught 6 pike over 40”! We had several days of 200+ walleye a day. Kesagami is truly an anglers paradise! I am counting down the days to next years trip, not a day goes by that I don’t think about Kesagami! Charlie Macdonald and staff make your stay a memorable one. The service and food are top notch! I’ve been asked why I don’t try another destination? Why? There isn’t a better fishing outfitter in the country, their strict catch and release policy and single barbless hooks are the reason why this fishery is so hot!

We set up our last minute group a few days prior, and boy were we in for a treat! With Charley McDonald at the helm directing things, we were pampered by an eager, polite and well trained staff, there at every turn to serve us like KINGS. From the moment we boarded the float plane to the time we returned, we never cared for anything. This is a true all inclusive trip. Incredible pickerel and pike fishing, excellent food, great service, knowledgeable guides. Simply the most fun we have ever had fishing, bar none! We are going to return next year, but, judging from the request I have from others wanting to join, the group will be much larger. If you are looking for the most incredible time of your life 'FISHING', this place is THE PLACE to go

I am 10 days away from my 14th year straight at Kesagami Wilderness Lodge!! I can't wait to hook into the monster pike and the numerous walleyes. 150 walleye per person is not a dream at Kesagami, it's a reality! The strict catch and realease policies and single barbless hooks are the reason this lake is getting better year after year. Charlie and staff are top notch, you can't beat the service. And I can't forget the incredible meals cooked up by Frank. This is a true fishermans paradise!

I have been on several fly in trips and this is the best place I have been. Charlie and the staff do an amazing job. This is a fly in experience that your whole family would enjoy. Very comfortable accommodations, great food, great guides and the always appreciated shore lunch !!! Nothing tastes better. The walleye action was very consistent for us. If you have the correct jigging technique, you can catch 100 walleye a day. Pike are also plentiful and you have a real shot at a 50 inch pike. I managed to get a few that were just short of this and were wonderful memories. if you want to fish Ontario, this should be at the top of your list. I am going back this year !!!

This is by far the best fishing resort in Ontario. We have been coming here for years and the fishing is always amazing... Shore lunches can't be beat! The staff, especially Ines 😉, are always friendly and willing to help you to make it the best experience for you and your group. The chef makes fantastic food, and ribs night features the world famous Michelbobs ribs and they can't be beat!!! Thanks again to Charlie for always making this a trip to remember.
