Detailed Reviews
Lovely hotel - clean room and comfy beds, secure and well-lit exterior, friendly staff, indoor pool - the rooms have a mini-fridge but no coffee maker - but there is a 24/7 lobby coffee station that is complimentary. Free breakfast was a bit underwhelming but if you're just looking for cereal and toast, it's an added bonus for the room rate - which is also a great value. I would happily stay here again.

Hotel's Favourite
This appears to be a favorite place to stay after disembarking from the ferry from Bar Harbor. The hotel is super clean, well appointed, and manned by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. The complimentary breakfast was better than most hotels. We were on the 4th floor and it was very quiet. There is ample parking on the hotel grounds. The Tru is located a bit out of downtown Yarmouth, but it is not so far that it made much of a difference in traveling to and from the downtown.

I’ve found a Hilton brand hotel I love. Tru. At least the one In Yarmouth, NS.
We were greeted with a smile and two bottles of water in a cute bag. The cleanliness and simplicity of its almost Scandinavian look appeals to me as well as the sense of humor of its labeling. Emphasis on simplicity. However nothing was missing from our room for a comfortable stay. Plenty of outlets, lights and towels. Large TV. Comfortable bed. Bathroom toiletries were the refillable kind (better for the environment) and the lemon/sugar hand wash smelled delicious. Breakfast was fine and it begins at 6:00 to accommodate the guests taking the ferry to Nova Scotia. All the employees were pleasant and cheerful.
Highly recommended.

The hotel is very new and clean, the swimming pool is also very good, the indoor bathroom is quite large, and the electrical facilities are also very new. It is a little far from the main city, but fortunately Yarmouth is not very big, and it takes only a few minutes to drive to the beach. In short, the environment is very good and it is suitable for family travel to stay here.
There is no coffee machine or kettle in the room, but you can go to the front desk lobby to get them at will. There is a large TV and simple entertainment facilities in the lobby, and there is also a small area where you can work by yourself. The breakfast is OK, and the variety is quite rich.
Opposite is the airport, and I didn't see any planes during my stay. Not far from the dollar store, there is a small shopping district next to it. Overall, it is a better choice in the local area.

The room was very nice, the TV was tricky to use, the hot breakfast was horrible, rubbery scrambled eggs or omelet with terrible sausage or bacon, ugh! The bagels, bread, doughnuts, fruit, etc. were very good and fresh. Although, if you wanted anything toasted the toaster was very poor. There was fresh coffee and tea available at all times. It is a great hotel for kids ... games, a pool and water slide. Unfortunately, we are seniors, it was the weekend and with lots of kids staying for a couple of in town competitions, they were very noisy and ran the halls up until 11 pm, we actually had to complain to the front desk, it was that bad. The staff were excellent and we would stay here again but not on a weekend.

We stayed for two nights (second night unplanned), and enjoyed every moment! To the cute soap dispensaries on the wall to the walk-in shower and open concept room (no closets or dressers), our stay was delightful! It was very quiet and extremely clean and with the seal of cleanliness from Lysol we felt safe in our environment as well. The hotel has a vast array of options for breakfast that gives any guest an option to choose from. They also have a large snack bar with frozen dinner options that I was pleasantly surprised with as well. If travelling as a family this is the hotel for you as they have a pool with a large twisting slide.
The only reason I didn’t give it five stars was because they only have microwaves in the lobby and the damage deposit they wanted if paying debit upfront. I realize that there is a microwave downstairs in the lobby with all other amenities but if having a late night snack needing to be heated I wouldn’t want to make the trip to the lobby in my pyjamas to access it but would much rather do it in the comfort of my own room. Also they wanted a deposit of $200 if paying debit upfront which I thought was very steep, especially after staying there the night before and not having issues with us as guests. That being said, their nightly rate is very affordable given the establishment is new and everything the hotel has to offer to their guests.
Despite these minor grievances, we enjoyed our stay so much we signed up for Hilton rewards. We can’t wait to stay at another one of their hotel chains! Thank you for your excellent service!

Thank you, Alison, for your kind words. It's a pleasure to hear some good feed back and off course some shortcomings too. You mentioned something about the microwave, yes this style of brand has everything lobby centric, and we love to have you around us. However, for your future reference if you require microwave in the room we can drop it in your room upon request. Another thing about the debit payment and damage deposit is a genuine concern, but would you believe lots of hotels don't even accept debit and cash. This is our chain wide policy, and I am sure you would appreciate the business safety and security concerns. My team and I always looking forward to welcoming you with TRU hospitality.

I love this place! The staff are exceptional. Every detail has been considered. The rooms are exceptionally equipped, with every kind of plug you need for a family full of devices. The bed was very comfortable, rooms have darkening shades instead of curtains, which is better for a good night's sleep. The bathroom has a walk-in shower instead of a tub, with environmentally appropriate soap, shampoo, conditioner and skin lotion dispensers. Much better than these little throw away tubes at other places. There is a nice workout space and pool. The lobby has everything a hungry (or snack happy) traveller could ask for, from healthy to indulgent. Prices are very good. I enjoyed a BLT sandwich that I will definitely get again. The value for price here is exceptional. I travel a lot, so I have quite a range of experiences. This one was in the top 10. I will definitely stay here again!

Hi Kevin It was such a pleasure to hear your feedback. Tru by Hilton offers a brand-new hotel experience that is vibrant, affordable and young-at-heart. It’s energetic, but it’s relaxing and comfortable. It’s familiar, and it’s also unexpected. It’s uniquely Tru. We will make sure we have your BLT ready for your next trip. Lookfoward to seeing you soon

People working here are courteous and nice. Clean hotel rooms and comfortable beds. The water slide is very fun. There are two foosball tables. There is a place to refill water bottles. The buffet breakfast was very good with waffle maker, automatic pancake maker, and wide variety of hot and cold breakfast choices. Can sit anywhere in the lounge area. The rooms and bathrooms are well designed. The refrigerator did not get that cold even on the maximum setting (dial is on back of refrigerator) so its good to cool drinks, but not sure if perishable foods should be kept in there because it is not cold enough. We stayed in three different rooms there in our stay at Nova Scotia and in all three rooms the refrigerators were the same, not cold enough. Also, there is no safe for valuables. You also have to be careful to make sure the door shuts completely when you leave the room.

I am a Diamond Member and spend 50+ nights per years at Hilton properties. Just in the past 30 days, I've been in hotels in Toronto, Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Geneva, Burlington (ON), and Toronto again. Currently in the tiny town of Yarmouth in south west Nova Scotia, I am immensely impressed with the local Tru by Hilton Yarmouth.
Tru is a relatively basic hotel with a sports/adventure feel to it. One step up from no-frills, they have a great breakfast and unbelievably friendly staff. But above all, this is by far the cleanliest hotel I have visited in years! The large full-service hotels overshadow smaller properties, but when it comes to hygiene, this property is king.
Thank you and congratulations!

Wonderful stay at Tru by Hilton in Yarmouth for the 55+ games. Hotel rooms are beautifully modern, spacious and comfortable. I loved the walk in shower. The soaps, shampoo and conditioner dispensed from containers mounted on the walls were very nice! There was plenty of food for breakfast and coffee/tea available during the day for free. The staff was very friendly. Would have no hesitation staying here again.
