Stayed here one night recently while travelling between Vancouver and Edmonton. I travel between Vancouver and Edmonton a few times each year. This is the first time I have stayed at the Chalet Continental but it won't be the last. It is quite a lot less expensive than most of the other motels in the area but provides everything you need for an overnight stay. The outside perhaps does not look as nice as some of the other local properties but the rooms were clean, quite, well appointed and recently updated. We stayed upstairs on the back side of the building, so no highway noise. Although, for some reason, trains seem to sound their horns all throughout the night - this impacts the whole town. Good value for money.

Sign outside the motel advertises free breakfast, which was not available due to the pandemic; sign should be updated for honesty's sake. Bathroom seemed to be in the process of being renovated, or a renovation had started and not been finished. Was woken up at 4:30 am by guys having a smoke outside my room, so the room was full of cigarette smoke smell; not pleasant. I recommend asking for a room that isn't directly beside the parking lot. Beds reasonably comfortable. Pillows lumpy.

Looks a little rough on the outside, an older motel. Once you get to your room you will be pleasantly surprised by new mattresses and linen and the updates that have been done with more ongoing in common areas. Clean, comfortable with pleasant front desk service.

If you want a lower cost place to stay for a night, this is a fairly good option. Has everything you need and is clean, but quite run down. Bathroom walls had plaster missing and doorframes were chipped. Also didn't give it more stars as we traveled during the pandemic ( emergency family situation) and there were no breakfast alternatives offered at all. The other hotels on our trip offered us bagged, prepackaged take out breakfasts in lieu of buffets that you pick up in the lobby which was extremely considerate for weary, highly stressed travellers.

There was nothing remarkable about this hotel, but it was clean and the service was good. Jin and his wife were good hosts, doing whatever they could to accommodate our requests for things like umbrellas.
Maybe the kitchenette was remarkable: instead off the usual countertop with a couple of burners, the kitchen was a separate room, with a full fridge and stove and table for four. A great option, since restaurants in town are limited.

We overnighted here, very accommodating hosts/owners. Everything was very clean, excellent bed and covers. New type bathroom, fixtures etc. , baseboard heating but everything is in great working order. It’s an older Motel but we would recommend it.

There is nothing spectacular about this motel, but it serves its purpose, which is to provide a clean and comfortable room and a good night's sleep. At a decent price, to boot. I particularly appreciated the good lighting so I could read in the evening.
This was our second visit to Valemount and our second stay here.

We stayed at the Chalet Continental for 2 nights on a weekend. We were travelling with several other families for a sporting event. The consensus among the families was that this was a decent place to stay, but the owners had no regard for any of our concerns when raised. Apparently they get a lot of business from snowmobilers, and let them do whatever they please - such as have open liquor in the hot tub (which they were in their underwear in) around children, party all night and keep up the families staying there, and take over the parking lot with their trucks and trailers. Several calls were made by some of the families in the middle of the night to complain about the noise, but no one answered at the desk. Bottom line, if you are going to Valemount in the winter and have kids, stay somewhere else.

Our family of 2 adults and 2 children stopped here for one night. Very comfortable beds!! We used the pool and hottub, a thrill for the kids after a long trip. Television had good channels and people were very friendly. The lady at the front desk asked if we had come to see the salmon swimming upstream. We went accross the road the next morning to see. Very interesting!

Highly recommend!
