We dropped in and secured a large, private spot for our 28ft trailer. We paid for 4 nights and then decided to extend to 5 nights which was no problem. The campground is a bit rustic but there is lots of space between spots so the privacy was awesome. The bathrooms were clean and limited to two people at a time and they left a bottle of bleach for guests to spray down areas they touched. The shower stalls were super tiny so if you are a large person, you won’t fit. We loved Valemont area and spent two days at the bike park and a day canoeing Kinbasket lake. FYI, the bike park shuttle only runs on Thursdays-Sundays. Also, most of Valemont shuts down on Mondays and Tuesdays so if you want to go to the pub or anything else, plan accordingly. There is a big field and an ATV track where our dogs could go for a run. The river was running really high so no swimming for the dogs.

Very nice owners, super friendly.
campsite could use a tuneup. the facilities are correct but a bit outdated.
we only stayed 1 night but it was certainly worth while. we had a great view from our spot.

A great place to stay in Valemount! Electrical and water hookup, showers included. (Wifi- limited range). 5$ sanidump if you stay a night or a few. Playground with lots of toys for the littles, and a mini golf course!

I stayed here on my way into BC and 7 days later on my way out of BC. Great place, quiet, Frendly owner. The second time there we showed up late, there was a note on the door telling people to find a spot and pay in the morning with a list of already reserved spots. We stay both nights right on the river. Bring bug spray, lots of bugs.

This riverside campground has potential but it is very run down and unkempt. Here is our experience: We pulled in at 12. A big sign said “go find a spot you like and come back to the office in the morning to pay for it.” So I picked out Site 24 out of a slew of campsites that had unsuitable power supply for my 30 amp rig. And/or broken picnic tables.

The electrical turned out to be pretty sketchy with lots of surges, so I unplugged the power and went to DC on my solar panel instead. I thought, oh well, at least I have solar panels. No air conditioning on a blistering hot day though.

I had a shower with plans to head for a nap after. After my shower, i went to get something from my truck, and there was another truck with a trailer behind my rig in my site.

I told the young guy driving that the site was taken. He replied that he had just paid for the site and I had to leave. I was too tired to argue, and hey, I was there to Rest and relax not to fight.

I packed up and swung by the office which was now open. I calmly explained what had just happened, and the woman shrugged and said “oh well”. And got back to office work. My experience here was now horrible. I have stayed in the other campground Irwin’s ,and have had only great experiences’

Nice place, but it’s pretty much a pipeline camp. Lots of traffic. There are some nice spots tucked here and there, and then there’s pipeliner spots. Hot showers, beautiful mountains, swift river and nice staff.

My girlfriend and I stayed here in a small RV in early May and it was an absolute pleasure. The couple that ran it were very friendly and very accommodating. We basically had the pick of any campsite as it was not at all busy. I can recommend any of the campsites closest to the paddock/rodeo arena as they are relatively well protected by clumps of trees and have a great view back to the mountains.

The amenities were very clean and showers worked well. Wifi worked well enough but the signal was weak. To be honest I thought it was great to get any signal as we were not that close to the shower block.

In short, I would gladly stay there again.

We stayed here with friends from Kelowna in September 2014. Our site was huge and our hosts were very accommodating and friendly, allowing us to park a 18ft and 23ft travel trailers on the same site. Though I would not expect that again. The bathrooms were very clean and well kept. No issues with after hours noise though mid September was not very busy. The trails lead right from the campground and go for miles and miles into the mountains. We spent a lot of time on the trails during our stay.
If you are bothered by the slightest bit of engine noise, don't stay here. This seems to be a campground that caters to power sports and they are upfront about it. Don't complain when you come here and see a group of five quads drive by your campsite into the hills after lunch. There are plenty of other campgrounds that cater to those who only want to hear and smell their own organic granola farts.

We stayed here as a group of ATV'ers in July 2014. The sites were large and had plenty of room for our campers and our ATV trailers. Very reasonable prices. Bathrooms and showers houses were very clean and well managed. The staff and owners take allot of pride in their campground and it definately shows. We will stay here again.

We just returned from a 4 day stay here and we were so happy with this campground! (We are from Alberta). It is huuuge and our site had plenty of extra room. We had a site on the river and it was gorgeous. The views are incredible, too! They have rodeo grounds right on the campground which we hope to see happen during our next visit :) The town of Valemount is quickly accessible for anything you may have forgotten or for venturing in to see what there is to do. They have bathrooms available to use for those who are tenting or just want another bathroom. They also have an 18 hole mojo golf course, as well as a Sani dump. If you are looking to camp in the mountains, I definitely recommend Canoe River Campground. We will be returning in August :)
