Stayed here on a motorcycle trip for one night when it was baking hot out.
Sunny at the front desk was very friendly at check-in and when we got to our rooms the a/c was running so that was already a plus.
Room 38 is huge, clean, and quiet even being just off the highway.
The beds are unbelievably comfortable, clean, and have new bedding.
We would stay here again and as a bonus there’s a pretty decent steakhouse/pub just across the road.

Stayed here one night on a business trip when the big name hotel in town lost my reservation and sold out. It's an older place which I found to be clean and comfortable, not without minor issues, but at less than half the cost of the major chain hotel an excellent value. Nice and quiet, I had a good night's sleep here and was ready to face the day in the morning. The only major flaw here is I arrived late and they don't offer late check out, but there are some nice restaurants within walking distance to grab a bite at. I'd stay here again for sure.

Having stayed there in the 80's, I know that the Ray Lyn was in better shape.
Because of that experience, our family of four stayed there for one night. It was full on summer heat, do the AC ran, literally almost off the wall. The AC unit was located close to the ceiling, you had to plug it in, no switch. And every 8 minutes, it would shudder and shake so much that the wall would tremble. Had to endure the heat with it off.
The room was large, kitchen functional, bathroom rather small, but the beds were 2 queen sized. CRT television and room could use some modernizing.
Know that the Motel is located about 1.5km uphill from Trail, a bit of a walk in the heat/cold.
Okay for one night, but not much more. It was nicer 30 years ago.

Yeah it was cheap, but they didn’t even have ice cubes in the room (see pic). When we called the front desk, she said to come and get some. We got a bag of god knows what it was - and it smelled bad!! Explain that.
She said some Cominco workers were staying there but I have my doubts…
You’d be better off sleeping in your car…

They refused us checkin as I have a registered service dog. Obviously not informed of regulations regarding service dogs and that they are NOT pets. The owner was called, I attempted to clarify difference between pet and service dog and that she has hair not fur so is hypoallergenic He refused our checkin stating it costs money to clean the room, they do not allow pets

Nice accommodations with an excellent rate. Super friendly owners who care about their customers. We enjoyed our stay. The room was large, clean and well appointed. It has a restaurant across the street and is super close to the main part of town.

I would stay here again for sure.

We stayed here (out of necessity I guess...because we have a dog). There are really only 3 motels/hotels in Trail. One doesn't allow dogs (the Best Western), the other is pricy (but does allow dogs), and then there is the Ray Lynn. It probably was a great hotel in the 1970's and recent attempts at renovations (at least in our bathroom) looked liked they were done as shop practice by high school students. For the price (over 110 CAN with taxes) you think we would be getting a nice place. When compared to other small towns where 70 CAN gets you a nice clean room I believe in general Trail is overcharging travellers passing through. It is not like the town has much to offer other than a large smelter, the roar of Highway 3 etc. The only benefit to us staying at the Ray Lyn was it was somewhat close to a new Mexican restaurant (not within walking distance, but a short drive).

Place looked awesome from the pictures seen ( nice outside ) looked like a clean place . Looks are deceiving, They sweet the concrete outside but hardly do a thing with the inside of the units.. Was in 4 of them and they are all had issues with cleanness. But 45 a night for long term stay it was okay .. But billed me 55 a night after I checked out and left.. Take a look at the pictures they speak volumes no words needed... This was in one room only

Off the main drive location, basic room appeared to be clean and tidy with coffee fridge and microwave in room, we received clean towels daily.
We paid extra for our smal dogs that we travel withl and we were very digilent in looking after them the owner was ok with them next day not then was ok again,we decided to leave, needless to say, our little dogs caused her no extra work at any time, as we are breeders and come prepared.
We found it interesting staying in a mobile home park, and we were careful not to disturb our neighbours, lol.
There's a great looking steakhouse across the street.

The professional picture shown is not what the motel really looks like so that is deceiving. Raylyn is actually all main floor access and is very old. The cleaning service is much to be desired such as if you have want your sheets changed you have to ask, they constantly forget to put coffee in the room so have to go ask for it, they do not clean the rooms thoroughly. The pool we were told is broken so no one can use it. The internet is horrible always cutting out. The hill just above the motel there is a fertilizer plant. Who knows how old the carpets and matresses are. You are right by the highway.

From what I can remember no, the room we stayed in there were 2 steps to get in. But it’s worth a call.
