We visited Trail for my wife's 40th School Reunion
Stayed 3 nights and it was great. Nice comfortable room, good breakfast. great location, awesome hosts.
The grounds are nicely landscaped and we enjoyed afternoon cocktails on the patio overlooking the Columbia river.
Would definitely stay again

If you visit Nelson, British Columbia, it's worth a side trip to stay at the beautiful River's Edge Bed and Breakfast. It's located in Trail, about 40 minutes south of Nelson and two hours north of Spokane, Washington. The hosts have done a fantastic job of landscaping their property which is on the Columbia River. You can sit out on the grounds and relax near the river's edge. The rooms are tastefully decorated and the hosts are quite gracious. We also had a very delicious and hearty breakfast. Our stay there was one of the highlights of our trip. Don't miss this gem when you're in Southern BC! Their website is (-).

The River's Edge is a newer construction and is just beautiful. The room I stayed in had a gas fireplace and en suite bathroom. Very clean and tastefully decorated.

The 2 rroms are separated by a kitchen area. The backyard leads to the river and has a hot tub for the guests. A welcome feature for a motorcyclist!

Breakfast was very good.

The 2 ensuite bedrooms are separated by a lovely kitchen with a full fridge, microwave, convection oven, dishes, bowls and condiments. The fireside bedroom is a little larger, but both have a sitting area and both of the bathrooms are a very good size. The units are sparkling clean, kept at a nice temperature for sleeping. It is very quiet, all you hear is the sound of the river. The private entrance and patio area immediately outside the kitchen contains several adirondack chairs and wee tables for afternoon wine or morning coffee while watching the mighty Columbia rush by. There is a nice view across the river to West Trail and the mountains. The gardens are beautiful, there is a pretty path right down to the river. Gord and Barb are good innkeepers, friendly and informative. We highly recommend the River's Edge, the prices are very good and it is so much better than a hotel.

We had made reservations to stay here. We were using both available rooms. We had contacted our potential hosts 4 times; 3 email and 1 phone call. We arrived on the appointed date to find no one home. We called the number posted on the sign in the front. Madge answered her phone and said she had no recorded bookings for the week, so she and her husband left town and were no where close to help us.

We would like to apologize for your booking problems. We searched our emails after your distress call as we had no memory or record of your booking. We have no records of any email for this booking whatsoever. Since we were fully booked with longer term tenants at the time we can not imagine take this booking. Could it possibly have been communications with a different accommodator? Would really appreciate the opportunity to have you experience our B&B. I agree it is a good policy to get a written confirmation for any accommodations booked.

Very nice location overlooking the river with lovely gardens. Room comfortable and clean with nice appointments. The breakfast was very nice, and hosts are great. I much preferred this over a motel room. Thanks.

My husband and I have stayed at the River's Edge Bed and Breakfast a couple of times. My mother lives close by so it is an easy walk to her place as well as to the town centre, Gyro park, along the river etc. The room we stayed in both times is very comfortable and clean with an excellent bathroom. The breakfasts are great and there is a lot of choice. Gord and Barb are both very friendly and helpful. We will stay there again for sure!

Stayed here for 5 nights , while I was in Trail for work recently. Gord came and picked me up at the airport, as the car rental counter was closed on Sunday when I arrived. He even drove me to my work the next morning! What service!!!

The B and B is in a beautiful setting along the river, with nicely manicured lawns and plenty of flowers. The room is very cozy, with a fireplace and very very high thread count sheets! I travel ALOT for work, and have never experienced such luxurious sheets!

You have a choice of breakfast items each days when you fill out your menu, I enjoyed blueberry pancakes, french toast, eggs, toast, yogurts, fruit throughout the week. Exceptional service!!

I cannot recommend Gord and Barb enough, they run a perfect bed and breakfast and Gord certainly can share many stories and interesting facts about the area!

I paid less than half than what the other main hotel in town charges, and enjoyed a private retreat with awesome breakfast the entire week!

They also have a hot tub under a covered patio that overlooks the river!

Spectacular!

With a view across the Columbia river to Trail's city centre from a lovely landscaped yard, this B&B was the perfect stay when I attended my 50th high school reunion. Comfortable bed, spacious bathroom, good breakfast options and the added bonus of a cosy little kitchen made this the perfect home away from home. Gord is a very gracious host!

This B&B has just 2 rooms to offer and the one in the picture above with the fireplace was ours for a week. Comfortable and clean ... There is a shared Kitchen available situated between the two rentable rooms and has all that you need for your stay. It is located right on the Columbia River and has a well maintained yard with picturesque views .. birds that sing to you all day long in the beautiful gardens.
