We'd never been to Terrace before so consulted TA for some suggestions and came up with the Lanfear Guest House.

From my first communication with Patty (she and husband Randy own and operate the B&B), I knew we were going to the right place.
And that initial impression was proven correct when we got to the Lanfear. P&R are a lovely couple of people: friendly, helpful and informative (Patty turned us on to the 'Casa Masala', a Mexican-Indian (really!) fusion restaurant).

We felt completely at ease and at home. The room we had was very comfortable and even had a separate little living room. The house itself is really cool: nearly 100 years old but upgraded to modern standards while still retaining a lot of that vintage feel.

We feel confident in highly recommending the Lanfear Guest House to anyone visiting the Terrace area for a short or longer stay...this is a great place with really nice people running it.

This heritage home set in spacious, mature grounds, is an oasis of quiet and welcome for visitors returning from days spent on the rivers or at the remoter villages of the region. The hosts, Randy and Patty, give their guests privacy and at the same time offer every amenity (including a lovely sauna room very near the upstairs bedrooms). Although the house is set near the forest, it is within easy walking distance to the downtown. We felt very fortunate to stay here for two nights--as our hosts said, "it was our home while we visited Terrace."
Recommended to anyone wanting to go beyond the chain hotels of regional B.C. cities.

This is an old house with uninsulated interior walls. You can clearly hear the rest of the house. The bathroom is shared (across the hall) not private.

I have stayed at the Lanfear Guest House twice now because I appreciate a great B&B that has great hosts who make you feel like home! There is plenty of privacy in this comfy 1920's character home with very clean rooms with your own bathroom. This B&B is much nicer than the hotels in Terrace and it is great talking to Randy and Patti about the local activities such as fly fishing!
Personally, I find that having an amazing sleep is very important any time I am away from home and you will have a great sleep here especially with the high quality fleece sheets!
Anyone would love staying at this amazing and unique Guest House!

Had a great 2 night stay at the Lanfear - it is at once casual but same time everything is really well looked after by Randy - friendly, very clean and two bathrooms so no bottlenecking at all ..Breakfast of homemade granola and fresh fruit and yoghurt and bagels was excellent - eggs were offered but no need really! I'd go back ..

What z beautifully and lovingly restored home. Randy's stories over his outdoor adventures are entertaining and enjoyable. I enjoyed my great room and the breakfast was awesome!
The yard is expansive and very quiet with great trees and well manicured lawn and flowers. You'll love it!

We were very happy with our choice to stay with Randy and Pat in their near hundred year old beautifully restored character home. It was a very relaxing and pleasant stay in clean conditions with a cozy room and a very comfortable bed. Randy and Pat were amazing hosts who set out generous breakfasts of home-cooked granola and muffins along with coffee and orange juice. Very nice!

Randy and Pat are lovely hosts, accommodations are clean, comfortable and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. Highly recommend! Randy and Pat are very knowledgeable about the area and gladly make suggestions on what to see etc... Arrived strangers, left feeling like old friends :o) Will definitely return if ever in Terrace again.

We stayed at the guest house during the week, as we came into the house the smell of freshly baked cookies greeted us and even had the place to ourselves. We were given a choice of rooms but they were both equally clean and appealing so it really didn't matter which one we took. The bed was comfortable, sitting room cozy, breakfast nook welcoming.
Our one issue is you share a bathroom, the house has two bathrooms for the two guest rooms and hosts. If it had private bathrooms I would have given it the extra star.

"The second bathroom is down on the main floor...first come, first served for the BR on the second floor. Check your map for the location...it's a little tricky to find: Walsh Ave is bisected and the B&B is not on the main part of Walsh."
