I really don't understand all the poor reviews on this page. We stayed there on 23 Jan 2023. Fast check-in, clean room and bathroom, large flat-screen TV with lots of cable choices. Everything worked well. Breakfast was very basic - Cereal, yoghurt, fruit, coffee - but good that they even offer free breakfast at the room-rates they charge. No complaints!
The hotel room we stayed in was not clean I won't stay here again. The bathroom was disgusting toilet was not cleaned shower was not cleaned trash in bed side table coffee maker was not clean bed was covered in some one else's hair.🤮🤢🤢🤢
We were not expecting much from Super 8 but this one was even lower than my expectations... friendly staff but very slow ... checkin took over 20 minutes and I was the only one in the lobby .. clerk didn't seem to know what rooms were available so he to physically go and check several times ... room was not clean at all, curtain and bed blanket had tears .. bed was OK .. toilet didn't flush properly and when we went down for breakfast there wasn't any even though the website says there is ... we found a bowl of apples and a bowl of yogurt .. we won't stay here again ..
The room smell bad odor, damp carpet and chair, some of the light doesn't work, no smoke alarm, stain on the bed sheet.overall it wasn't a pleasant stay. They need to put sign out that had the carpet and furniture clean and put the smoke detector back on for safety. check bed sheet before leaving. check room before renting it out.
We arrived Sept. 24, 2022 for one night. We had reservations. When we went to check in at 5:30 pm, the front desk said the room wasn't ready and we would have to wait for at least 45 minutes. Apparently they only have one person in housekeeping. I understand there are labour shortages but if you pay more, you can hire and keep employees. The Motel's attitude of cheapness results in no staff. We walked out and went to the Fairfield by Marriott which is 2 minutes away. We paid about $100 more for the stay and it was great. Clean rooms, complimentary breakfast, no hassle. Don't stay at the Super 8!
Hotel looks old / dirty. Needs some funds to upgrade the inside especially new mattresses / pillows. Also needs a deep clean and fresh paint. Had to request bath towels in the room for some reason there weren't any in there even though the room was supposedly cleaned. Wasn't expecting a ritzy place just somewhere clean for a quick stop but will not be going back there.
The upholstery on the chair in my room was so filthy it was making me sick to look at it. The carpeting in the hallway was also covered in many large stains. The hallway and my room had a disgusting odor and a lot of air freshener was used to try and cover it up
This is an extremely subpar property....starting with the outside...weeks of garbage in the parking lot...beer cans, drink cups, plastic spoons. At both front and side doors, a bucket for cigarette butts that has not been emptied in weeks, so the reek of smoke assaults you on entry. The first room given to me had awful smoke smell, and I requested another. Had to wait at hour (at 5pm), as no rooms were clean...only 2 staff, doing their best to keep up. Hallway carpet dirty and stained, fabric chair in room dirty and stained, garbage in bathroom not emptied, kleenex and food remnants under desk, floor sticky . I had to trust the sheets were changed. Wyndham should be ashamed. Only the front desk guy saves this place
Me and my husband stayed here for a few nights while visiting friends and family in town. When we booked the hotel there was very little available this weekend on account of the music festival I would presume and we also knew Super 8 isn't exactly a 5 or a 4 star hotel. The staff do what they can especially the only 2 front desk clerks we encountered during our stay. It looked as though these 2 gentlemen worked over 12 hours a day. I believe, as with most places, the pandemic has caused places to be quite understaffed and not able to hire. They were very friendly and attentive and I felt quite bad for them as I had heard guests become angry about the cleanliness of the rooms and take it out on reception. We encountered problems with the room cleaning as well but knew better then to take it out on the staff at reception. Complaining is one thing but respect is another. Upon check in there is a sign at reception that states guests who stay more then 1 night will have limited cleaning services due to covid and staffing. This would of been fine since it's just the 2 of us, however, when we got in our room it didn't look like it had really been cleaned. The bath and shower had hair in it, the bath sidining was ripped and housed what looked like mold and the tiny coffee station looked as if it wasn't re stocked. It was late so in the morning we went down to reception and asked if someone could clean our room while we were out, they said no problem, so we showered at our family's place. When we returned late at night, the bed was made but nothing was cleaned. The next morning we requested cleaning again, returned and again, bed was made, towels restocked but not cleaned. I understand limiting services but the cleanliness of the rooms should be a priority, at least to a guest's first night. Again, not receptions fault as they did take the requests but housekeeping should make the effort to be more thorough and clean, especially the bathroom. Management should also be more mindful of this when making adjustments or limitations. They should take into consideration what is important and cleanliness should be one of the top. Had our room been cleaned when we checked in then there would not have been an issue if we didn't get the full service but it was not. I would also think considering how cleanliness and sanitization has been extra imortant the past 2 years this would be something they would come up with a better solution for. If we have no choice when travelling to the area again we would stay here, otherwise we will opt to stay at one of the other towns like Sicamous or Endrby.…
Pictures are NOT accurate. Smelly, stained carpet in the room and hallway, not hardwood/laminate as the pictures show. Cracked sink in the bathroom, no room to move in the room for my mother who had a walker (also not accurate as to the pictures as the pics looked like there would be plenty of room!), Dirty and Dark. Down the hall, inside the cleaning supply area there was a bottle of 'End-All Miticide'. Not sure where it was being used...praying there are no bugs in my suitcase contents! "Breakfast Included" means a granola bar, an orange and a small yogourt sitting in a bowl...not chilled, who knows how long it was sitting out and warm? NOT a breakfast. Extremely dirty windows could be opened, but the 'lock' was a piece of wood. No screen. When I tried to speak to someone in the morning, there was nobody at the front desk. Just a phone to speak to someone...not sure where they were. I thought that this hotel being endorsed by Wyndham would mean something - it did not. I will never stay here again!…
