We were lucky to be able to book a spot for the night. We were surprised at how clean and well kept this RV Park was. The owners are friendly, helpful, and accommodating. It is right off the highway so tricky to get in, however I did not find the noise of the traffic disruptive. There are trains that go by so expect some noise but the cleansiness and beauty of this park makes up for that. I will definitely stay here again the next time we are in Salmon Arm.

I had cabin 1. My mom and sister shared cabin 2. Had everything I needed. Bed was super comfortable, and the new owner was lovely. Simplistic, but kinda fun. Lots of towels, bedding, toaster, microwave, and a great fridge so I buy and eat fresh food.

Only thing I noted that was a slight challenge was the lack of hot water in the am. Better to shower at night.

A Very Welcome - Welcoming from the owners Andy & Lisa Zust,A lovely campground with 13 rv spots and cottages.Nice view of thelake from one end of the campground.WASHROOMS are IMMACULATE (HONESTLY YOU COULD EAT OFF THE FLOOR) AND VERY NICELY BUILT.Owners are very happy to assist any way they can.Would be a SUPER PLACE for a FAMILY REUNION.!!Only negative noise from nearby railroad, but after first day you don't notice it at all.YOU MUST CHECK THEIR WEBSITE!! THANKYOU ANDY & LISA. We will be back.

The wife of the couple running this campground is very talkative, on the loud side but definitely friendly and helpful. Dennis her husband is anything but social. When we came in we saw both of them. I said „Hi Dennis“ and he grunted and then walked into the back area and let his wife take care of us. He came out of the office area to the porch to smoke but did not intermingle at all. He had 0 interest in any of his clients or so it seemed.

There are men and women’s toilet areas with showers (one normal and one handicapped for each area) and these are spotlessly kept. There is a small laundry room and it too is spotless. That is the only thing we found that was excellent, that and Dennis’ wife’s friendliness. There was only one exception to this cleanliness and that was the garbage and recycling sitting between us and the next RV was not emptied in the three days we were there.

They have rules; boy do they have rules. Most, if not all are OK but some are just not well presented, such as for the toilets: they say that you can’t put anything in the toilets that you haven’t eaten. I don’t eat toilet paper! They have a rule that you are NOT allowed to eat any fruit from the fruit trees. They have rules about how to use the washer and dryer which wouldn’t be a problem but the rules start off by bolded READ THIS. It is a small thing but instead of saying "Please read before using" or putting the sign on the machine or something less aggressive they go for the in your face approach. Another rule about the washing machine is that you must put in loonies that start a counter and that counter must have 10 minutes more time on its display as the time given by the machine. The rules state that a normal load will take 4 loonies. It would if you went by the time the machine gives - I’ll explain. A normal load goes for 42 minutes. Each loony gives you 12 minutes. 4 loonies times 12 minutes gives you 48 minutes which is ample time given that the machine says it need 42 minutes and the rules list says it will only cost 4 dollars for a normal load BUT the rules also say that the coin meter must have 10 minutes more than the time of the machine which means you need to spend $5.00 for the extra 4 minutes that you don’t need. If it is meant to cover the machine recalculating the time needed; however, after having done 4 loads I did not encounter the machine doing a recalculation. They have a rule about guests that states that each guest that visits a camper must pay $2.00 each. That just seems like they are milking every dime.

The one thing that really didn’t sit well with us was that the Security deposit equaled the amount we would be paying $151.20 but worse was that when we arrived we found out that they had already taken the money off of our card the moment we booked. This means that the security deposit was not a security deposit as Dennis had told me on the phone when we booked. He had said that they don’t charge the credit card but rather reserve the amount as a security deposit.

But probably even more offensive was when we called to reserve a spot for the night Dennis said that, as it was a long weekend, that they only took a minimum stay of 3 nights. We hadn’t wanted to stay that long but if that was the only way we could stay there then we’d book for the 3 days. We arrived on the Friday. The people parked next to us left on the Saturday morning and another RV took its spot. This 2nd camper stayed for the one night only. What about the 3 day stay minimum during a long weekend? We felt taken. Not only did they take out the full amount from our credit card before we arrived going against what the owner, Dennis, had said on the phone but they also DID allow someone else to stay the one night which we were not allowed to do.

Add all this to the fact that the spot is right next to the number 1 highway and is very, very loud. During the night is gets quieter from the traffic diminishing but that is countered with the train going by which is right next to the highway and too is loud.

We would definitely not go back to this spot nor would we recommend it.

We planned to stay one night at the ViewPoint RV Park & Cottages in Salmon Arm. Unfortunately the July Fires in British Columbia and the closing of some highways in BC forced us to change our routing and we were not able to visit the Kamloops Area.
Although we informed the reservation office of ViewPoint RV Park & Cottages as soon as possible they did not refund the prepaid amount quoting their cancellation policy… In our opinion that’s not customer friendly and also the total opposite what we’ve experienced with the other RV parks which we had to cancel - they offered to refund the prepaid amount.

Ok this place is not big rig friendly. I would not be surprised if someone hasn’t got into an accident getting in or out of this place onto the hwy. Extreme corning up a hill right off or onto the hwy

Once you get there its a tight tree scraping corner to get past the office as the easier entrance is gated closed. 🤷‍♂️

Two owners. Carol and Denis. Carol is very nice and talkative. Brings some plums to our rv every morning. She seems to do most if not all work here.
Denis is a useless buffoon. He likes to park his vehicle in the way of anything coming into the park when he has plenty of area to park that would not be in his customers way. I have been all over the US and Canada and have never seen a septic system hookup like theirs. Where the normal system is a hole in the ground they have concrete posts with the septic hole mounted in the side so any hookup will spew a small amount of raw waste out of the connect point even with heavy rocks pushing sideways on the hose to keep it in place. This according to Denis is a state of the art septic system that they have received compliments on. Stayed here a few days and everyone we spoke to either brought up the weird system or made some comment about it.

Since they use well water its hard to say how much of this raw waste would be contaminating their water system. I am sure the ground around these pipes is not to healthy.

The sites are narrow and would not allow you to out out awnings if your neighbor had his out. The facilities are nice and maintained for showers etc.

The road noise is extreme as you are parked right above the trans Canada hwy. this is a gift that keeps giving all night long.

Denis need to go to some sort of customer service training. When we left i asked him to open the gate and he said I had enough room to squeeze by and didn’t bother to get off his butt to do this. Needless to say I opened the gate myself to allow the proper clearance out of the park. While I was doing this he was busy mowing the lawn happily shooting rocks and debris all over the side of my RV as he was on a hillside . Guy is oblivious to good customer service and has no respect for the people who are providing him with a living.

Sitting on the porch swing as I type...
Perfect place for our baseball team while here for the weekend. Love the group fire pit. The grounds are well kept and the bathrooms immaculate. Something for everyone...tenters, cabins and trailers.

Stayed a night in one of the charming cabins at ViewPoint RV Park. Could have easily stayed longer. Good value, very clean and comfortable. Owners were brilliant to deal with. Very welcoming. Nice little playground and well maintained grassed area for kids. Trains and trucks can cause a bit of noise, but didn’t bother us in the slightest. Would stay again.

On a 30 day rv adventure from Chicago to Vancouver. Have had a dozen unscheduled nights along the way stopping when we were tired. Saw Viewpoint along the way and pulled in. From that moment the folks were nice as could be. Showed me the sight, helped me back in made sure all the hookups were done ok. Knock at the door a few minutes later " excuse me, would you like some fresh picked cherries?" OMG I thought it was Aunt Bea from the Andy Grifith show.
Yes some road noise but it's ON THE HIGHWAY! Beautiful CLEAN GROUNDS AND BATHROOMS AND SHOWERS like a 5 costar hotel.
They also knew more about MY BLACKHAWKS then I did...lol
Only regret I'm 2000 miles away otherwise would return often
Good wifi and free firewood

Our overall brief experience was quite disappointing. The property is extremely basic, in need of grounds keeping and very very close to the highway. Bathrooms were clean. Sites are very tight and we were also not comfortable with the space to safely park our trailers. We felt the website and the owners description on the phone of the facility was very misleading. The owner was though very insistent on getting our Visa information prior to our arrival even though we were only 45 minutes away when we called. When we arrived and indicated we were not comfortable staying and felt that the property was not as described the owners insisted that they would still try to charge for the evening. Unfortunate that owners try to conduct business in this manner and hide behind self serving policies simply for short term profit. This may be a fit for some travelers but definitely a buyer beware and view before paying. Our group of 4 was very surprised frankly at the quality of the T.A reviews and the actual property. In our opinion a last resort one night stop.

I am sorry that you felt mislead and pressured. We love our campground along with many of our guests, and are sorry that you did not want to stay and find out why so many have enjoyed their stay here. We do not insist you get a reservation, however, we strongly advise it as we cannot hold your spot unless you reserve it with your credit card information. As well the cancellation policy is clearly stated on our web site. Hope this helps to clear up some of your negative feelings.
