We loved this B & B so much we tried to extend but with good reason, it was booked out! It's a little out of town so it's best suited to travellers with a car. Comfy bed, fantastic shower, great hosts, privacy, peaceful surroundings, home form home. Ten out of ten for this gorgeous apartment/b and b. We wished we could stay longer.

We're a family of 4 adults on a Canada road trip and this was the wildcard choice out of the otherwise solid 4 star hotel resorts we booked. And are we glad we chose Powder Pillow!

It's not a traditional B&B in the sense that it is a large one bedroom apartment annex to the main house with a separate entrance, but totally noise proof during our stay. Whilst the B&B's website and the prior glowing reviews here gave me comfort, I certainly didn't expect the owner's genuine friendliness and the overall luxurious accommodation we were presented with.

We arrived earlier than planned and caught the owner about to head out, but she graciously showed us the accommodation and provided WiFi login. We parked up in the covered porch and headed up to the decking and entrance to the annex. The kitchen/diner area is huge and has high ceilings to provide an additional sense of space. I was worried that we'd feel crammed with parents in the bedroom and us on the sofa bed. But there was plenty of space to unpack (doored hanging closet in the main living area, double wardrobe and double drawer in the bedroom). Once the sofa-bed was out (very easy to pull out and owners were considerate enough to put a foam mattress topper to increase comfort), there was still enough room for the 4 of us to hang around the dining area and the outside porch.

The sofabed was very comfortable, I nearly forgot I was not on a regular bed when I woke up in the morning. Parents enjoyed their sleep on the proper bed, so no complaints there.

Bathroom belonged in a 5* hotel! Luxurious, spacious and plenty of fluffy towels. L'Occitane bath products were provided for those who forgot their own shampoo/ conditioner/ body wash. The large walk-in shower had good pressure and plentiful hot water. Although we didn't use it, there was heated flooring for the winter.

The guestbook within the B&B had owner recommendations for a couple of restaurants in town and the 'Village Idiot' restaurant proved to be a great choice.

The best thing for us was that we weren't restricted by breakfast hours as with other B&B's in the morning. A continental breakfast is stocked in the kitchenette which if I remember correctly consisted of a loaf of wholemeal bread, butter, variety of mini pots of jams, peanut butter pouches, yoghurt, about 1 litre of milk, cereals, carton of orange juice and a variety of normal and green teabags, coffee and hot chocolate. A full fruit basket was also provided on the dining table. We were staggered by the breakfast items provided and obviously couldn't eat through the mountain of food!

We were sad to leave and will definitely let our friends and family know about this gem in Revelstoke. Especially as when we drive 5 mins into Revelstoke town and saw the pitiful quality of motel/hotels in comparison within the same price bracket.

Thank you, Nicole, for an amazing stay. And especially for being unintrusive, but available when needed.

The positives; comfy bed, huge shower with Occitane products, plenty of towels, cafetiere in kitchen, generally well equipped and plenty of room, good wifi connection
The less positives; has fans but no aircon (Revelstoke can get very hot in summer), the deck area needs some tlc and encroaches on the family area, so we felt uncomfortable using it. The breakfast only average- a locally made jam but otherwise packet cereal and some bread and juice.
Very quiet location but a little too far for us to walk into town
We've been to Rockies several times and stayed in terrific b and b's and had really warm welcomes.
This doesn't feel like a b & b- it's more a self catered apartment with a breakfast pack.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review on our property. We do advertise the Powder Pillow as a Self-catered B&B and we have many guests that enjoy being able to prepare breakfast at their leisure in their own private space. This summer in Revelstoke has been much hotter then past years, and we now have Air Conditioning in the suite. I am sorry that you felt uncomfortable using the deck. It is a shared space with our family, but we always give guests privacy if they want to use it. We also enjoy socializing with guests on the deck and have made many new friends this way. We wish you all the best. Nicole & Dave

We stayed at the Powder Pillow B&B in August 2014, on our way north from Kaslo, BC. We were pulling a trailer and motorcycle, which we could easily park in the driveway; it really was a quiet location. The home had a separate entrance for us and was very private. We met up with some of our family in Revelstoke while we were visiting and so we hosted a barbeque on the deck at the Powder Pillow; it was a beautiful summer night and we sat around the upper deck and visited throughout the evening. We took advantage of the kitchenette amenities and had a great steak supper and an amazing sleep. Yes, the shower is gorgeous ... super clean and classy. The hosts were generous and the complementary breakfast amenities were a great touch (I was three months pregnant at the time so I really appreciated the fresh fruit and healthy food choices!) We would stay again.

This is a nice suite attached to a family home in a quiet residential area outside the main town of Revelstoke on the way to the Ski Resort.

The suite was very nice, spacious with a great fireplace that kept the place cosy. You have access to their garage for storage and boot warmers, although we found the fireplace a great place to dry our ski clothes and boot liners.

Wireless was included.

It had a kitchenette area with a sink, microwave, toaster over, toaster, bodum coffee maker, kettle, some tea and coffee. You also could use the BBQ outside that did have a side burner. Not that enticing in the winter.

Breakfast was an assortment of fruit, yogurt, travel cereals, packet peanut butter, there was a jar of jam in the fridge, and they did provide bread, I think it was homemade, not sure when though. We were there for three nights and had enough food for two mornings. Fortunately there is a grocery store on the way to supplement your breakfasts. We did buy some eggs that we were able to cook in the toaster oven.

If you are looking for a place out of town that is quiet and you don't require a lot of food for breakfast then this place would work for you.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. We are pleased that you enjoyed most aspects of our suite. As your complimentary three night stay was arranged through Tourism Revelstoke, we did not have our usual level of contact with you during the booking process. As a result, there seems to have been a miscommunication with regards to breakfast. As described on our website we offer a range of continental breakfast supplies for guests to enjoy at their leisure. We are sorry you did not enjoy the loaf of freshly baked bread. As we mention to guests when they arrive, we are always available to answer questions and happily replenish breakfast supplies as needed. We wish you all the best. Dave & Nicole

Nicole and Dave have got this just right. A comfortable, spacious, well-appointed 1 bedroom suite up one flight of steps (= 1st floor in UK!!) with a small kitchenette with your own private access door. Situated in a quiet residential street near the hospital, my wife and I stayed for 2 nights and thought it was great. Breakfast is provided for you to set out yourself so you get to eat when you are ready and not at a pre-arranged time!

Just a fantastic one bedroom suite in Revelstoke. We spent two nights here and had a great stay. Dave and Nicole are very welcoming hosts. They are laid back and we felt totally at ease staying in their home. The accommodation is a couple minutes drive from downtown or the ski resort. We spent our full day driving to the top and exploring Mount Revelstoke National Park. After driving back down we walked though the tall cedar grove in the park. Then we drove on Route 23 about 40 kilometers up Revelstoke Lake to the north past Revelstoke Dam. Great scenery all the way.

The suite was huge. Lots of room in the kitchen area, living room, bedroom and especially the fantastic bathroom. I wish ours was this nice at home. The Samsung TV was all HD and connected to the satellite. The internet was efficient. We liked the variety of breakfast items left for us. We had a choice of yogurts, fresh grain bread, cereal, fruit, jam, peanut butter and coffee. The coffee maker was a little tricky to use, so we waited until heading out before getting some. There is a grill to use on the deck, but we rarely cook on vacation. We ate out both evenings and recommend The Village Idiot.

Our time here went fast and wish we could have stayed longer. For a clean, comfortable, roomy experience one can not go wrong here. This was a top notch accommodation. The other reviews are right on.

This is more of a fancy mother-in-law suite than a bed and breakfast, as there is only the 1 room/ensuite. However, it's very private and cosy.

We stayed here over Christmas actually in order to get in some Christmas skiing. It snowed the entire 3 nights we were there, but there is a covered parking spot for the B&B guest. The ensuite is above and behind the garage, and so offset from the main part of the house. The only time we heard noises from the hosts was when they were in the garage below.

Nicole, the host, was very sweet and welcoming. She provided enough provisions for breakfast for entire stay - out on the counter and in the cupboards - fruit, cereal, milk, juice, croissants, bread, jam, coffee, hot chocolate, yoghurt. We went out for dinner twice in town and used the bbq on the porch to cook the 3rd night's dinner. The bbq was very convenient even in the winter. There is a toaster oven, fridge and microwave. No heating elements or stove, so the bbq was helpful. The bathroom is fantastic and the heated floor and spacious shower is great after a day of skiing. There are also enough tv channels to keep you entertained during the evening. Everything is tastefully decorated. The garage also has a boot warmer, and a place to store skis.

The B&B is a very close 5 min drive to the ski resort, and about a 5-10 min drive to the main part of town. This is the only drawback, being a drive to the restaurants and grocery stores. It's not really walkable to either town or the base in the winter unless you're up for a long walk.
