We stayed in the downstairs room for two nights. It was comfortable, had a nice shower, comfortable bed, and a great kitchen. The view from the room is pretty amazing. There's a nice hot tub on the second floor deck. The only downfall was that the upstairs was pretty loud, almost everything they did, we heard.
We fell in love with a painting on the wall and were actually able to purchase it from Susan! Overall we loved their home and would definitely stay again and would recommend it.
Perfect place to stay !!!
We had a couple of issues with the fixtures and fittings. The Bathroom basin was free standing and loose and the toilet was not securely fixed to the floor and both moved freely every time we used them. There was also a problem with the curtain rail and curtains not fitting the window width properly allowing early morning sunshine through and making privacy a problem with passing guests.
Also the traffic and railway noise was a problem as was the noise from the upstairs guests.
Tip: Go to the Aqua centre communal swimming pool in the afternoon for a couple of hours of fun.
Having said that it isn't ultra-modern, let me reassure everybody that the en-suite bathrooms were as good as any of the mid-range hotels we have stayed at, as were the bedrooms, both of which open on to the kitchen-living area.
I got the feeling that the hosts, Susan, and her husband, would really go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. There are a lot of small personal touches that are beyond what most travellers would hope for.
I hope that everyone who reads this experiences the same feeling that we did. By the way, I'm 57, the spouse is 63, my son & partner are in their mid-20s and we all loved it. It's not just an oldies' place! (My son s one of those downhill mountain bike nutcases.)
home from Edmonton to Vancouver. Charming suite with the
most amazing views and a completely stocked kitchenette.
Great suggestions for restaurants etc and a wicked late
night cribbage game - wished we could have stayed longer.
