I've regularly stayed at this property for skiing and sledding. There were a few things that affected the quality of my stay, but staff was not one of them. The front desk team and housekeepers are great at their hospitality and always a good chat - well informed of the area, recreationists themselves, and genuinely share the stoke. I brought my concerns to Kevin, the FOM, who promptly addressed them even after my departure.

Problem -> problem rectified. Will return.

This was a reasonably place to stay for skiing in Revelstoke. There is a bus to the ski hill but we found that we could drive and park as it is quiet in early February. The hotel is quiet, there is a pool and hot tub and the rooms are all of a good quality. |I had a difficulty with the frame of my bed, and scratched my leg one night, but this was rectified very quickly the next day and an apology issues. Reception staff were very helpful. we are puzzled, not just by this hotel, but generally in all hotels as to why when you book two rooms the two rooms are not located close by, this may be something that hotels may need to consider. The only downside was that there is a smell of chlorine in the lobby from the pool.
Located on a large site there were various breakfast options available, we chose Denny's as it was closest, unfortunately there was an unexpected large coach influx that morning, but credit to the staff they really worked hard to get us our breakfasts as quickly as possible.

Dear Merran, Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your most recent stay at the Sandman Hotel Revelstoke! We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay, room and breakfast! We do always endeavor to assign rooms that are under the same name, to the same area or as close together as possible. Although, it can be difficult at times when parties book different room types, or are booked under different last names. We are always happy to take any requests over phone or email to help make this happen for you though! Thank you again for your feedback, it is always great to hear from our guests and we will use all these points to make further improvements moving forward. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back to Revelstoke in the future! Warm regards, Lisa Lamothe General Manager

Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Stayed in original part of hotel. Room was very dated. Walls/doors needed a good washing.
Bathroom outlet did not work.
Daily housekeeping and replenishment of amenities not done unless requested the day before. There is a sign at the front desk stating this however it could easily be missed (as our group missed it). Recommend front desk staff mention this when checking in. Also recommend that if this procedure is to continue on then sufficient amenities (shampoo, conditioner, towels, coffee, etc.) should be left in the room for the entire stay.
One wall-mounted bedside lamp did not work. Mattress had to be pulled away from the wall/headboard and we found an empty lab specimen container and an empty water bottle. We also had to pull out the night stands and there was garbage behind these as well as under the hide-a-bed. Recommendation: do a more thorough cleaning of the rooms more often.
Breakfast not included.
Found the cost of the room to be expensive for the quality of stay.

It was definitely not what I’m used to when staying at other Sandman locations- meaning this place needs a cleanup/reno update. This hotel has two separate buildings so depending which one you stay in, the pool and hot tub are in one of the buildings. We stayed in the same building but still has to travel outside and around the building to get to amenities and front desk. Hot tub was tiny and since it was busy ski season, there were about 25 people crammed into an 8 person tub.
Our room was very outdated, and beds were very worn in. That wasn’t the worst part though, the room reeked of curry upon check in, couldn’t switch rooms as they were fully booked so we aired out the room.
There was food left in the fridge from either last people who stayed there or maybe the people before them…no idea how old it was. Freezer was a block of ice so couldn’t even use it- and their ice machine was broken.
Had friends stay at Super 8 which was 10 times better and would recommend staying there instead.
Also front desk wasn’t helpful explaining the shuttle. Thought they had an actual shuttle to the mountain but you actually have to go to the town bus stop and grab the bus there.

The Sandman was the perfect place for a ski vacation. Avoided the extremely high costs of staying at the hill; which has very little to offer outside of location. The Sandman is a short 20 minute drive and offers free bus tickets. Bus stop is a 60 second walk and is at the beginning of the route so always room to ride. Bus also takes you into the heart of town(which is small and very walkable. Staff was extremely friendly. Pool and hot tub were great. Makenzie and his staff are wonderful. Only negative; no breakfast, just coffee and tea. Although, room rates are low enough to leave some $$$ to eat next door at Dennys.

This hotel is really tired and badly needs some attention by the Sandman chain upper management.
We felt extremely mislead by it's website, which, at the time of booking, offered a bar, a pool, and a hot tub. None of these were available during our stay. These features were determining factors on our choice of hotel, so we feel the price we paid was well over the value the hotel offered. There is also a power problem in the hotel causing frequent power outages in rooms and room keys were extremely temperamental.
We found it interesting that, when asking where the bar was and showing them the Sandman Revelstoke website, front desk staff replied that they had been employed there for a number of years and there had never been a bar there they knew of. Another disappointment and inconvenience was that the hotel laundry was no longer available to patrons.
The front desk staff were helpful where they could be - we got the impression they had been worn down by all the problems the hotel was experiencing but they had no power to correct anything themselves.
Overall, the most redeeming feature of the Sandman Revelstoke is that it is situated well for the shuttle bus out of there. If you choose to walk to town for restaurants, cafes, bars, etc it takes a decent half hour. The hotel could offer no shuttle service of its own even to pick up patrons and luggage on arrival in Revelstoke.

The Sandman was a last minute booking for us as we passed through Revelstoke, it was very expensive for the quality of the stay. The rooms are outdated & require lots of maintenance!
The room had a bad odour, all furnishings like the curtains, couch etc. require a deep clean.
The stove had food on it 🙃
We were disappointed and would not recommend!

This hotel was very poor, the room certainly nothing like what is advertised on the website. We were in the second block the main security access door was not working and open to everyone. Our room on the second floor had a fire escape door just outside our door, this was continually used even up to 3:30am , The room did have an odour when you walked in , and a few flies . The air con we had to turn off at night due to the noise. Our room did not get the supplies replenished even though we had put the sign requesting it on the door. Very poor quality , not like the rooms advertised on Website.

Our sincerest apologies for the inconveniences you faced during your time with us, we have address the door access issues you experiences and now have a 24hr lock in place on all exterior doors aside from the restaurant. We have brought forward the cleanliness concerns you've specified to the team after identifying your room, and will ensure consistent stay over service is provided as it should be when requested. Thank-you for bringing the inconsistency in the inventory you received, as it was in the Monashee Building, when the original room you had originally booked was in the 'Selkirk building' our apologies for this inconsistency in room assignment.
