I am not one who writes and posts reviews. After the wonderful May Long Weekend spent at the Coast Hillcrest Hotel I felt it necessary to share some of our experiences. This hotel has so many (positive) things going for it. Aside from the great location (moments off Highway #1), the short (minutes) drive into the town of Revelstoke and the spectacular views you enjoy the moment you arrive, the quality of accommodations, food and beverage operation and the friendliness of the staff made our stay "magical". We can't wait to go back and would stay nowhere else but the Coast Hillcrest Hotel.

The hotel was off the main highway and about a 10 minute drive from the main town. Large car park which made it easy on arrival.
Friendly helpful staff at reception who gave us the information needed about hotel, restaurant and pools.
We had a room with two queen size beds (Candian hotels do not seem to have family rooms with twin beds). There was a beautiful view from the window, large clean bathroom and fridge in the room which is really helpful.
As there was no where within walking distance we did have breakfast in the hotel which was expensive, would not recommend the buffet breakfast though.
Restaurant staff were excellent, friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

The room and all areas were clean and sanitized. So nice that the room smelled clean too. There was a card in the room that itemized all the areas and items cleaned and sanitized and it was signed and dated by the housekeeping employee. The bed was nice and comfortable. The staff were helpful and efficient.

The smell of the wood burning fire in the grand entrance and assorted guests in classic apres ski attire provided a traditional and attractive alpine lodge setting. The reception staff were attentive and the room was clean and tidy. Sadly, the subsequent service in the restaurant and bar was not great. The hotel is outside of the main town, accessible off the main highway where little tolerance is given to anyone trying to exit by the speeding westbound trucks. The hotel appears to cater for guests who are heli skiing. During our stay there was a big group and the bar/restaurant were considerably more focus on meeting their needs above all else. Had we been situated closer to alternate dining options on the first night, we may not have endured the negative experiences. We were removed from one table in the bar area as it was being kept for members of the ‘big group’ - the meal took an exceptional amount of time to prepare and one meal had to be sent back as it was drenched in oil. The next morning my wife spoke to three separate members of the breakfast team and after waiting 20 mins she was served. Other guests were asked if they were prt of the ‘big group’ and were also left to wait when they said no. The second night we ate off site which kind of defeats the point of staying in such a remote full service location. We were forced to reduce our stay to two nights prior to check-in but this proved to be a blessing in disguise.

On 3rd September we checked into the Hillcrest Coast Hotel to stay two nights. The hotel itself is very comfortable and the views from our room and the outside bar area were stunning. Our complaint is the service in the restaurant. On the first evening our waiter was very good. The meal took half an hour to arrive but he let us know it was on its way and gave us a couple of bread rolls and butter. The food was good. The second evening it was awful. We placed our order at 7.30 and when it hadn’t arrived by 8 we asked for some bread and butter to be told they had run out! By 8.30 we tried to get our waitress’ attention but to no avail. We noticed other diners who had come in after us had been served and were already eating. By 9 pm we stood up and waylaid her. She just said the kitchen was busy. When the meal did finally arrive, a further disappointment was that my husband's meal was overcooked, as though it had been just left for a while. They deducted the food from the cost of the meal and we paid the bar bill but it left a very bad taste and we felt that this hotel just couldn’t cope with the number of diners they had. Unfortunately the hotel is quite isolated so it isn’t possible to walk to other restaurants in the area.

Thank you for your review. While I was happy to read you enjoyed the hotel, I am sorry the restaurant fell short on your second visit. Rest assured I met with the team to discuss what went wrong and how we can deliver a consistent experience. I hope you will return, and we will have the opportunity to serve you better.

We arrived around 3 pm after i called to find out if the room was ready. I was assured that it was. It was but the floor was dirty and dome of the furniture had crumbs. So we cleaned it up with disinfectant wipes and all the handles, knobs and touch points. The room was comfy but the heat didn't keep the heat temp and would become air conditioning and cold. We were in room 225. The hotel is in a beautiful mountain setting. We had a great sunset from our shared balcony. The balcony is one continuous one. View from the balcony.

We stopped along a journey from BC to Alberta on Highway 1. The hotel was conveniently close to the highway while not being subject to highway noise (long "driveway" with trees allows easy access but creates some distance from the road). We were impressed to find 2 helicopters outside the hotel, ready for those wanting to try heli-skiing. The rooms were clean, beds comfortable. The front desk staff was welcoming and helpful in answering our questions. When using carts to bring up luggage, they were consistent on arrival and departure in requesting we leave the cart with them after we made use of it for sanitizing processes prior to returning the cart to the lobby.

The room had a coffee maker and a refrigerator. Adding a microwave and a freezer could be practical given the pandemic's closure of restaurants, as it would allow for heating up left-overs and buying frozen meals.

If stopping in Revelstoke, would stay at the Coast Hillcrest Hotel again as it was clean, convenient, comfortable, and the staff was welcoming.

This is a lovely property located a few minutes outside of the downtown area of Revelstoke. Beautiful rooms and common areas. The restaurant was open and they were doing a great job of distancing diners. One large party came in and they said they would have to seat them at different tables, which was good to hear. They had hand sanitizer stations set up and wipes and kleenex when you entered your room. I love that you can actually open the windows and let the fresh air come in.

Had a pleasant one night stay here, breaking our journey onto from Whistler on to the Rockies. Just outside Revelstoke, with exceptional views and all the staff are all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is an interesting mixture, it feels like it has been partly renovated and could be a real gem but it isn't. Bathrooms are lovely and clearly fairly recently updated but the rest of the bedroom is in need of a bit of updating and modernising. On the plus side the beds are extremely comfortable, with excellent quality linen and the facilities, towels and toiletries are excellent quality and plentiful. We didn't eat here so can't comment on the food here. The lift is great though, very retro 😃

We stayed one night to meet family from Victoria and you can't beat the price with lovely and sparkling clean rooms. The staff was busy cleaning luggage trolleys and elevator buttons and we immediately felt very safe in this environment. The staff was very polite and helpful (front desk / bar / restaurant) and we had relaxing pre-dinner drinks and lovely dinner (the food is quite simple but nicely cooked). I would definitely be back if in the area.

Yes it is pet friendly and the pet friendly rooms are just as lovely as the non-pet rooms. They greeted us with dog treats and a bowl of water at the doors. VERY pet friendly.

Self serve Laundry is not available at the hotel. However we offer Laundry service. Revelstoke Laundry mat. is in the downtown center approximately 5 Km from the hotel where you may do your own laundry. in addition they offer a wash and fold service.
