we stayed in Dec 2022, bought new bathing suits hoping to use pool…but when we went down to the pool it is all glassed windows but no roof, it is ooen to outside and was freezing cold air. with the glass we expected it to be an indoor pool. dont ket the pictures of the pol fool you. elevator was broken as well.
Booked last minute after camping washout for my birthday. The Resort Manager Jamie organised our early check in and a lovely bottle of Prosecco and card. Rooms are clean and a good size. Beds are comfy. The bar and the restaurant serve fabulous food. A good selection on the menu. I got a birthday cake dessert, which was a nice touch. All the staff are so friendly, helpful and polite. From reception checking in, to the restaurant host, bar staff and restaurant servers. A well run operation.
We stood at the ‘wait-to-be-seated” sign for 5 minutes. We saw groups of restaurant staff chatting and hanging out together, appearing to be doing nothing and yes they looked over and knew we were waiting. My husband flagged down a staff member walking by and he said come with me we will see about getting you assistance. We walked six steps and he said, wait here. He left, went behind the bar and began stocking shelves…yup we were confused. We decided to turn and leave when the hostess approached us and ask if we had a reservation. We said no - (only a 1/3 of the seats were occupied.) she seamed a bit bothered by this answer with what looked like a half eye roll. She walked away without another word to look at her seating chart, we presumed. She fuddled around for a bit, not looking at us or communicating. My husband approached her asking if we could have a seat away from the piano because it’s so loud and my daughter is sound sensitive. She said there’s only one table available right beside the piano/singer or we could sit in the bar, behind a half wall. This restaurant is all about the ocean views so no. We didn’t want to pay $45+ tax n tip each for a simple brunch buffet to look at a half wall. There was an entire section not open and an abundance of staff standing around doing nothing but they refused us a quite table. It was my daughters birthday so we decided to stay and took the offered table next to the piano, after being at this restaurant for over 20 min without seating. Once seated, we waited another five min because we were told we needed to be given permission to go to the buffet by our waitress, even though there wasn’t a single customer at the buffet. We waited. She came with three room temp no-ice waters and said we could go. The breakfast selection was v simple. We each took a dried out looking eggs Benny with a tiny drizzle of firm sauce on it, a bacon, a sausage, and some fruit and a pancake. I can’t tell you what everything tasted like because we all tried the Eggs Benny first and the texture was mealy but the worst part is it tasted like a mouthful of almost straight vinegar. Yes, I understand a splash of vinegar in the cooking water for firmness but this was cooked in a vat of it. The muffin wasn’t toasted and none of us could cut through it with the butter knives. We really put our elbows into try to cut and couldn’t. Im not sure if it’s the full butter knife, the muffin sitting for sooo long in the hot plate or both. My daughter was crestfallen bcs she had been looking forward to a nice experience. We put down our cutlery and walked out. My husband hung back and asked if there was anything they required us to pay for but the food was so terrible we won’t eat it and our plates were obviously untouched. The staff member said of course not and looked like he fully sympathizer with our predicament. Keep in mind we went with a gift card that the manager had issued us because our only other time we had gone here was a disaster. We ate dinner with a friend that was a guest at the hotel. On that trip only one person in our party could eat the food served them as it was such a disaster and we all received a gift card of apology. We are tossing out the gift cards. I wouldn’t eat here for free. Terrible! .…
This hotel was a perfect place to attend this well organized event. The Rooms themselves were lovely, clean, friendly staff all over including front desk, food services, and cleaning folks. The view and access to the water is beautiful and easy. The food was excellent on presentation, quality and taste. As part of our event we were treated to brunch, lunch and dinners over the course of 3 days. The hotel was hosting several other events during our stay and we were never made to feel like we were being rushed nor were we crowded. Thank you! 10/10!
Stayed in an ocean view room with balcony. Very clean and well kept. Front desk and restaurant staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Great food too. Trust me, this review is honest. We stayed for three days at a five star resort on pender island for a wedding that was absolutely filthy. It was so nice to know at the bay shore that we were sleeping on clean sheets and a clean bathroom. Had a great visit but it was just not long enough! Next time tho.
Unreal weekend! The staff was immediately so welcoming and friendly. We had drinks and appies at the restaurant and loved it so much that we went back for dinner, and then again for breakfast the next morning. The food and service was incredible, not to mention the breathtaking view while you enjoy a meal. The room had an amazing view, and everything was clean and beautiful. We would come back anytime and would recommend to everyone! We enjoyed every moment! Thanks Bayside 💗
This resort was exquisite. The rooms are clean and beautiful, the dining with live music was amazing along with its perfect oceanfront view. The staff are so kind and lovely. I was impressed by everything. Couldn’t recommend this place enough.
The hotel is right on the beach with a short walk through the grounds to the sea. We found the reception staff helpful and had an enjoyable meal in the restaurant which beneftted from the sea views. There is a large car park and we found our room to be large and clean for the 3 nights we stayed.
I would not stay here again although I suspect it may be one of the better hotels in the area. The view of the beach is great but that’s about it. The service at the front desk was not particularly friendly and the waiting staff barely let us have a drink without foisting the bill on us. The rooms are ok. Very average. The bath has a shower curtain which frankly is so outdated and not at all hygienic. The food was really quite awful. We had lunch and breakfast and it was just so disappointing. The gym feels as though it’s in a prison and In desperate need of renovation. I gave the swimming pool a miss. Reminded me of a 1950s holiday camp. Definitely give it a miss if you don’t need to stay.
Stayed in a King Ocean view room that did not disappoint. Gwen the front desk attendant was amazing. Love the Nespresso for early morning coffee. Definitely would recommend this place and would stay again in a heartbeat....only downfall is that I only stayed one night!
