Detailed Reviews
This place is only surviving due to its amazing location. The bathroom locks are broken, they aren't cleaned and weren't stocked with TP or soap for the entire weekend. Trash and cigarette butts are everywhere.
The sewage system overflowed while we were there (poor maintenance).
Wifi doesn't work (didn't matter to me, but it does to other people).
The location is amazing so that is something, but clearly management are counting on booking out (due to their location) as they clearly don't care about their guests or maintaining this property!

Well, I have to say when we first started coming here 2021 . I was never going to come back .
But they are starting to clean this park up , they have removed the bad tenants .
There still needs more work , but if you look at the beach area and not the back area, this is a good location for couples with dog . Even kids at the play park is just outside the security gate .
Let's hope the owner , gets the piles of sand out front leveled and maybe some gardening .
Otherwise, this park could be outstanding .

The two stars are strictly for the location, which is right on the beach and in the middle of town. If you choose to stay here, keep your guard up, doors locked at all times, and have low expectations. They have all the “rules” spelled out clearly, but there is ZERO enforcement of them (they will outright refuse to do anything), even if you actually manage to get an answer on the phone to speak to someone. There is NEVER anyone actually in the office. There is no security whatsoever here; people walking by on the boardwalk can (and regularly do) hop over the fence, and anyone can drive down at any time. We were sitting in our RV one afternoon when a woman just opened the door and walked into our trailer, looking for god knows whom. In the two weeks we’ve been here, the garbage/recycling has never been taken off-site; it was overflowing when we arrived and has only piled up from there. Next year we’ll have to try out the new park next door.

Our decision to stay in Parksville was impromptu so we had not booked in advance. We utilized the website booking and selected a site only to find out that the site we purchased had already been rented for the night and was occupied. The office is not staffed and there was a note saying to text. No response to very little response trying to communicate that we'd been rented an occupied site and trying find out which sites, if any, were actually available. The site we had booked was $101.85 for a concrete pad (parking lot style) campsite that was near to the beach and bathrooms. We ended up staying in a site that was $50 cheaper. Tried contacting a few time to get them to adjust the billing and no response. Truly glad that we hadn't booked for multiple days as it would be sunk dollars. I would definitely recommend trusting their website booking with a credit card.
The bathroom doors are locked and only one of the two bathroom facilities unlocks with the code provided with the booking email. No toilet paper in bathrooms and no handsoap. The one shower room with a functioning code lock door is filthy and only one pay-per-use shower works. There is also an obnoxious loud gas-powered dune buggy that does endless laps of the entire campsite (perhaps the illusive management? ) Look elsewhere.

We love Parksville and have been coming to this town every summer for forever. However, this campsite is awful. The ocean front location is fabulous, but everything else about the site is terrible! The bathrooms were barely cleaned the whole week. There was no soap, no toilet paper, no garbage can in the bathroom and the garbage skips were always overflowing. After my husband used the shower facilities, he promptly set up an outside shower and shower tent on our site. Thank goodness the community park toilets were well maintained and open in the daytime so the children could use these instead. Our daughter refused to enter the camp washroom because they made her feel nauseated. Unfortunately, the park next door has become a place for noisy youth to 'hang put' at night which means a lot of yelling and swearing at 2:00am! Last year, we experienced the same issues, but gave the benefit of the doubt and did book again. We now know that this poor level of hygiene is typical and the ownership are not taking any pride in their business, just happy to make as much money as possible with no effort!! WE WILL NOT RETURN!

This campsite is an absolute joke. In three weeks Canada tour this was the most expensive and least maintained place. Our pitch/site was not recognizable as such. There was a broken and dirty plastic cover on the table, probably from previous guests. The toilets were unimaginably disgusting and unacceptable, although they are secured with a code. The soap had been diluted several times with water. There were three toilets and no one had toilet paper, one had the entire toilet seat dirty with feces and the door was broken in one. At this price you think the showers should be included and clean, but even they had to be paid for and were extremely dirty - an outrage. It is hard to imagine that these have ever been cleaned.
There was never an opportunity to address these issues, as everything was done online and the office was always closed.
Here they try to rent out the parking spaces at high cost with maximum profit without wanting to do anything for it (e.g. cleaning staff or other)

Unfortunately, we have to say that at $78 a night, this is by far the most expensive and worst campsite after a three-week road trip through Canada.
The poor condition of the permanent campsites underlined our first impression.
The public areas were difficult to access due to the poorly functioning combination locks. We have never had to pay $4 each for washing and drying. The light was broken and wet laundry kept coming out of the dryer. The washrooms were unacceptable due to the lack of cleanliness.
After comparing 18 campsites, this really is the worst campsite of all and one that is in dire need of renovation. Now we are sitting in a laundromat and writing this review while we have to wash our laundry again.
You would expect something different from such an expensive campsite!!

We recently stayed at the Park Sands Beach Resort. It is very rundown, overcrowded and overpriced. The website misrepresents the spot that we actually got… It is advertised as a full service site with sewer, water, and electricity… There is no water and I had to run a hose to a neighbouring site. The sewer connection is uphill from the RV… Please tell me how to get your water to run uphill?!
Nobody could be found in the office… They are unresponsive through email and phone as well. The website talks about friendly family oriented campsite, and they want to make everybody happy… Staff, and apparently the management have no desire and even respond to my request about the lack of services advertised.
We stayed at Pacific Palms next-door last year, and it was quite nice, friendly, proactive office staff and good infrastructure.
It appears as though there are now many permanent residents that live here and the campground is not well kept.
Don’t waste your money here…

As you drive down the hill into what should be a fabulous RV resort, you might want to listen to the famous Deliverance theme song, Dueling Banjos. Because you are entering a place where you should reconsider your visit. The place is a mix of semi permanent RVs on tiny gravel spots, piles of construction material, overflowing rubbish bins, half a dozen cars in "car tents", and a seaside collection of cheek by jowl concrete pads. Only a few are actually seaside; most have a view of your neighbour's RV. For the brave souls who decide to camp in a tent, be prepared for washrooms and showers that should be cleaned with a fire hose instead of the garden hose that seems to be the sole nod to "sanitizing." Oh, and you are told to bring your own toilet paper. When asked why the WiFi was not working, the answer was "we're working on it." They may still be. I'm told it is under new ownership. I bet they stay somewhere else.

Overpriced campground. No one even works here and it is a figure it out yourself business. Many unhappy customers. Would not recommend unless you’re desperate for a spot somewhere.
If you do book a spot don’t forget you need your own toilet paper and hand soap.
