Spent 4 weeks here constantly listening to the hard rock boom, boom of the music from the office speakers. Left a note on door and it still played every day sometimes until 9:30 - 10:30 PM. Went over and asked if the speakers could be turned off and only an answer of what would your music preference be. My preference was to turn the outside speakers off. There were also 6 or 7 other campers who were not happy with listening to the driving beat of their music all day. Their own rules state that no amplified or outside music is allowed outside of your RV and if inside it should not be able to be heard from outside. The only reason we'll come back here again is because of the location for our grand children. Also, I'm surprised that the health department hasn't ensured that the garbage and area around the garbage bins is kept clean.

Love the location, camping right on the beach is pretty great, however disappointed with the lack of care they take in keeping the property looking nice. The garbage bins and recycling area is grossly spilling out onto the road, it is a huge eyesore. This is the second year we have noticed this, not sure why garbage isn't picked up on a regular basis and how they can allow this to happen. Overpriced for what you get. As we had full hookups, I didn't use the showers or washrooms so can't comment on their condition. The sites are very close together with hardly any privacy at all between neighbors unless you want to be in the back area of the property where there is highway noise and you feel like your camping with all the people who live there full time. There is no way I would let my kids play in the "sandbox", didn't look clean at all. The price of $99 is very steep. If you want a clean and private campground I would suggest booking elsewhere, but book here if you are planning on spending most time on the beach and exploring, having the playground, waterpark and beach right there was very convenient.
They are strict on the 10pm quiet time. As we are sitting outside enjoying the quiet, at 10pm, a very loud tractor comes driving through the campground, with an extremely loud exhaust. Startled us and made us frustrated, questioning why this time of day?

This place is only surviving due to its amazing location. The bathroom locks are broken, they aren't cleaned and weren't stocked with TP or soap for the entire weekend. Trash and cigarette butts are everywhere.

The sewage system overflowed while we were there (poor maintenance).

Wifi doesn't work (didn't matter to me, but it does to other people).

The location is amazing so that is something, but clearly management are counting on booking out (due to their location) as they clearly don't care about their guests or maintaining this property!

As you drive down the hill into what should be a fabulous RV resort, you might want to listen to the famous Deliverance theme song, Dueling Banjos. Because you are entering a place where you should reconsider your visit. The place is a mix of semi permanent RVs on tiny gravel spots, piles of construction material, overflowing rubbish bins, half a dozen cars in "car tents", and a seaside collection of cheek by jowl concrete pads. Only a few are actually seaside; most have a view of your neighbour's RV. For the brave souls who decide to camp in a tent, be prepared for washrooms and showers that should be cleaned with a fire hose instead of the garden hose that seems to be the sole nod to "sanitizing." Oh, and you are told to bring your own toilet paper. When asked why the WiFi was not working, the answer was "we're working on it." They may still be. I'm told it is under new ownership. I bet they stay somewhere else.

Our decision to stay in Parksville was impromptu so we had not booked in advance. We utilized the website booking and selected a site only to find out that the site we purchased had already been rented for the night and was occupied. The office is not staffed and there was a note saying to text. No response to very little response trying to communicate that we'd been rented an occupied site and trying find out which sites, if any, were actually available. The site we had booked was $101.85 for a concrete pad (parking lot style) campsite that was near to the beach and bathrooms. We ended up staying in a site that was $50 cheaper. Tried contacting a few time to get them to adjust the billing and no response. Truly glad that we hadn't booked for multiple days as it would be sunk dollars. I would definitely recommend trusting their website booking with a credit card.

The bathroom doors are locked and only one of the two bathroom facilities unlocks with the code provided with the booking email. No toilet paper in bathrooms and no handsoap. The one shower room with a functioning code lock door is filthy and only one pay-per-use shower works. There is also an obnoxious loud gas-powered dune buggy that does endless laps of the entire campsite (perhaps the illusive management? ) Look elsewhere.

We love Parksville and have been coming to this town every summer for forever. However, this campsite is awful. The ocean front location is fabulous, but everything else about the site is terrible! The bathrooms were barely cleaned the whole week. There was no soap, no toilet paper, no garbage can in the bathroom and the garbage skips were always overflowing. After my husband used the shower facilities, he promptly set up an outside shower and shower tent on our site. Thank goodness the community park toilets were well maintained and open in the daytime so the children could use these instead. Our daughter refused to enter the camp washroom because they made her feel nauseated. Unfortunately, the park next door has become a place for noisy youth to 'hang put' at night which means a lot of yelling and swearing at 2:00am! Last year, we experienced the same issues, but gave the benefit of the doubt and did book again. We now know that this poor level of hygiene is typical and the ownership are not taking any pride in their business, just happy to make as much money as possible with no effort!! WE WILL NOT RETURN!

We have been staying at the Park Sands RV and Camping Resort at least a couple times each year, for many years now and we love it there! Everyone is so friendly. We keep seeing the same families and couples year after year each summer, so obviously we're not the only ones who love it there. It's a super mellow place to stay. Not snobby at all and super safe for kids. No-one gets out of hand or rude and everyone truly runs on "Island Time". People stay in the cabins, their tents, trailers, campers, camper vans, motorhomes...we have an "88 Toyota mini motorhome that we use as we're restoring it, so no snobbery about an older RV for sure. Walking distance to everything, across the boardwalk from the beach, next door to the big community park with so many events all year long...who wouldn't love it there?

The RV park is well situated for families. The best spots are closest to the water on concrete pads. Some are tight to get in and out of because of trees.
If you have a problem don’t expect to get an answer, even via text. The biggest problem is the lack of power from their Wifi. If your close to the pole then you get it otherwise you don’t. I asked about the poor wifi signal and I was told they would reset it, which never happened. The next thing they told me was that the pole got struck by lightning and they were waiting for a repair team to fix it. I was born at night but not last night, the pole was fine .It’s just that they are too cheap to up the power so that everybody gets it. Bring your own sanitizer for the gate because they ran out of that too. After reading the reviews , the wifi is the usual complaint, goes way back.
The sites never get cleaned and the garbages are full.
We are taking it elsewhere in Parksville.

Garbage bins overflowing, office is always closed, sites are dirty, no wifi. All of this might be tolerable because of the perfect location if it wasn’t for the drunk rowdy teenagers every night screaming and partying at the playground at 2am. Don’t waste your $99 a night!

Overpriced campground. No one even works here and it is a figure it out yourself business. Many unhappy customers. Would not recommend unless you’re desperate for a spot somewhere.

If you do book a spot don’t forget you need your own toilet paper and hand soap.
