We originally planned to stay at Riverbend Resort for 6 weeks while our condo was being renovated. Because of construction related delays due to Covid 19 we ended up staying in our one room cabin for almost 5 months. The owner, staff and long term residents of the park were kind, considerate and accommodating. Cabin was clean, comfortable and quiet. The sandy beach area on which the resort is named is absolutely lovely in all seasons.

This is an RV Park and not one of the many high end resorts found nearby but we think it adds to the charm. Wi-Fi is next to nonexistent and will only intermittently support e-mail.

Our rating is based on the cost, relative value and proximity to Rathtrevor Beach (albeit across a busy highway).

Not a bad place to stay. Sites were a bit close but we managed. Wi fi was almost non existent so watching Netflix in our RV at night was not an option. Laundry facilities were closed due to Covid. We would probably stay here again.

We booked this last minute and were not sure what we would find.

The RV/Cabin Resort is nestled in the trees a short drive from Parksville.

We were staying in our RV, but the resort has numerous cabins available.
The RV sites are long and wide and will fit any size RV. Ours is 55ft with the truck. The sites are a little rustic but that is great after you stay on so many concrete pads. There is a clubhouse that is open 9:00 to 9:00. There is no pool but there is access to the river, and they have built a pretty beach on the river. Campfires are allowed in the supplied pit.

I am very tall, and don’t like using our RV shower, the resort offers showers for $2.00 for 8 minutes. I thought that the showers could use a renovation.

There is recreation nearby (Rathtrevor Park).

I would definitely stay again.

TLDR: *they* double booked a campsite and tried to put us on a tiny corner that was 1/3 the size of an actual spot (also didn't offer any refunds or anything)

My SO (significant other) and I were out camping with his parents and this place was the last stop on our camping trip. We get there, and straight off the bat they were dismissive of us (their guests?) and also kind of rude -- basically gave us a map and told us to figure out where to go "somewhere down the road".

We get to our spot and a huge group of people are occupying the entire space. A lady comes up to us and explains that she has booked the entire area and we explain that we, also, booked the area.

We both go back up to talk to the lodge and the people working tried to tell us that it wasn't really their fault and they could put us into this tiny tiny space between the road and another site, basically enough room for one tent. They also said this and didn't offer to change the price or give us a refund.

The other lady ended up being kind enough to give us one of her spots but the service was terrible and I strongly urge anyone to pick a more professional, welcoming place (or at least call ahead like 3 times to confirm your spot)

My family and I just spent one disgusting night at this place. Upon arrival the ground around our tent site was very saturated. We attributed this to the rain we have been recently having. There was a puddle in front of my site. We would catch a smell of sewage, but thought it was just from the washrooms close by. The next day a worker was dumping line and sand on and around the puddle. I asked him what he was doing and he said he was just fixing a leak, and carried on with his work. I then asked if the water was grey water or fresh water and he said no. So.... what is it. He said sewage. We are putting sand on it, what more do you want and proceeded to drive away. We went to the office to get a refund and to hopefully move to another site. The owner told me that if I’m expecting a refund, then they would expect my family to leave. I explained how my daughters have been biking through the sewage and the puddle was leaking directly into our site our tents. I gladly accepted us leaving there site as there service was as bad as there plumbing. Absolutely disgusting! We were not offered an apology or another a site to move to until we were already packed up. The lack of compassion and regard for my children’s safety (durning a PANDEMIC!!!) was shockingly disturbing.

Second year we have stayed there and can’t wait to go back. Rented a 2 bedroom for 5 of us and lots of room for us. Of course weather being great is a bonus. You can walk down to the river to swim or go across to the big beach (ocean) where there is lots of things to do. Lots of places to go within an hour drive if you want to. A special big thank you to Heather, Vickie and Dave for taking such good care of us

I recently attended a wedding at the Riverbend Resort and it provided a fantastic facility for the event. The bride and groom stayed in the lodge and attendees stayed in cabins/yurts, etc. The park is in a lovely location with great amenities and the hosts were very accommodating to us all. We hope to get together there as an annual event. So peaceful and inviting!

When it rains it smells like raw sewage. Poor management and rude owner. False advertising for free WiFi. Pathetic playground for kids. Cabins are old and outdated. Park charges more for power then what power costs. Rates too expensive for what they provide.
Dryers in laundry room don’t work. Washer and dryers old and outdated. The list can go on and on.. don’t spend your money on this place!!

I stayed in one of the cottages through the fall months while working in the parksville area. The cottage/cabin I stayed in was clean and cozy. The fireplace was nice and kept the place warm during my stay. The staff are great! Carmen and Bill were very accommodating and very quick to respond if I had any questions. Private access to a nice beach on the river, and right across the road from rathtrevor beach. Close enough to the downtown area but tucked away in a spot that makes for a quiet stay. I will definitely be staying here again!

We spent a week there.
Our kid's are 8 and 10 and enjoyed the park and riding around.
The beach area along the river is perfect. You can ckiff jump with the kid's enjoyed.
I high recommend this RV park. All the staff were very friendly.
