We enjoyed our stay at Ocean Sands, the caretakers were awesome and very accomodating. While everyone has their own tastes as to decor and amenities, we were happy with the price, location and function of the two bedroom apartment we stayed in. As the apartment we stayed in is a privately owned property and several others we looked at are, there are choices for staying in 1 or 2 bedroom condo / apt. The Staff kept the place spotless and dusted well and this was welcome with allergies and the Covid-19 situation. While the property recently opened up, the pool and hot tub etc was closed until later in June due to the pandemic. We would definitely stay again and this is really good value for money compared to resorts next door or in close proximity. We would like to once again thank the staff for being so great and keeping the place so clean!

My family and I rented two of the oceanside/ocean view 2-bedroom condos, for 2 nights. Each unit is privately owned, but managed by the resort, so they are all a little different in terms of furniture and styling. Both our condos were clean and well equipped. The resort provided adequate shower and beach/pool towels and more were available upon request. They also provided games, beach toys (croquet, bocci ball, skim boards etc), and DVDs free of charge. Views from our room were stunning, overlooking the endless beach at low tide. The resort has a nice outdoor pool and hot tub, and has directly access to the beach. There is an elevator that take you to each floor of the building and down to the path to beach, which was great, as our youngest daughter has mobility challenges and can't walk. The staff member at the main desk/office was friendly and accommodating and we were able to contact them any time for any extra supplies or services (e.g. more towels, garbage and recycling removal). The beds were comfy, and lots of pillows were provided. We'll definitely be back and recommend Ocean Sand, especially for families!

We have stayed many times at Ocean Sands, in fact, it is our "go to" place when we are staying in the Parksville/Qualicum area.
The suites are always impeccably clean and completely outfitted with everything you could need.
Darcy is always friendly and upbeat and willing to accommodate.

First of all, the location is great and the management staff were very friendly and accommodating. We booked unit 104, which was a ocean front condo with 2 bedrooms. It is important to note that each unit is individually owned and therefore will vary. I can only speak for our unit, #104. This unit is in bad need of updates. We were quite disappointed with the general disrepair of this unit. It needed new paint (walls were scraped and damaged, skylight was repaired but not painted), floors (carpet and lino look about 30 years old) and worst of all was the bathroom. In the bathroom the baseboards were black with rot and mildew. I assume the owner never uses this unit as I don't know how they could look at that and not spend a few hours fixing this. Also, the queen bed is very worn out and uncomfortable. For the price paid, I'm sure your could do better in Parksville. We stayed at Sunrise Ridge resort the year before and found it much better for a similar price.

I Loved the service and location. Food at the outlet was exceptional. There was a nice look about the place and I found that the reception staff took our service very seriously. The condos are very well equipped and give you a sense of being at home. It is really nice to go somewhere and actually feel like you are more than just on another holiday. you can feel like you are on a long hiatus and that you are actually living among the community. You feel as though the environment is truly home. The kitchen had what I needed to cook a full meal for my wife.
I love fresh fish and enjoy taking my time to cook a full meal with all the trimmings. I used a fish store locally which the staff are more than happy to help you get to. we were missing some utensils at first and I noticed a few things I would need from the kitchen in order to really wow my wife over a candlelit dinner. The staff at the hotel arranged for me to get everything I needed no questions asked. It was a perfect night and made that much better that we felt at home in an awesome setting yet were still on a staycation in BC.
Definitely coming back.

We booked 3 of the 2 bedroom condos and 1 of the 1 bedrooms for our family of 14. The units were spacious and included everything we needed. Since children ranged from 9 to 17, at some point an individual or group used the badminton, basketball hoop, hot tub, pool and buckets for the beach. The resort had a central grassed area for everyone's use as well. Two rooms shared a second floor landing which made it easy to run back and forth and share tables for meals. Overall, Ocean Sands Resort delivered as the perfect place for our family. If I could change anything, it would be to book sooner, probably in summer for the following summer for best choice of units. The view and the beach were incredible.

We have been staying at this location annually for many years. It is a clean, quiet, well taken care of property with fantastic managers. This place may lack some of the upscale appearance of other resorts in the area, but it takes care of its returning customers and has everything we need to function perfectly. We are 100% comfortable here and would not consider going to any other location in the area.

This was our third time staying at Ocean Sands. The location and price is excellent. The units are simple and very clean. It's proximity to the beach and the beautiful views are what keep us coming back. This is the first time we stayed in a studio. Previously we have booked 1 or 2 bedroom units but none were available. For the studio the suggestion we have is to have a small amount of cutlery and dishes (maybe 2 each of knife, fork, spoon, plate, bowl). We asked if we could borrow some from the office and were told there were none available. Since there is a fridge and microwave, we had brought some food, but had to run to the dollar store to pick some things up. Overall a great stay.

It is perfect for families. The suite was fully stocked and they loved all the soccer/sports equipment just left out to play with. The beach was a quick 5 min walk away and the outdoor pool had life jackets for the kids.

Reception at front desk is awesome- very relaxed, very welcoming. Once we asked for a cart to allow us to get our belongings to the unit, a very helpful employee got one for us immediately. ( there weren’t any in the secure entrance.
The unit itself was quite comfortable, very good supply of quality pots and pans, dishes. Our only suggestion is to upgrade the towels and to check the potential of a break/ crack in the tub.
All in all, will certainly be back to ocean sands someday soon.

You should be able to depending on availability. We were on the main floor in a 2 bed facing the pool. No one was above us so we heard nothing.
We saw many live clams partially protruding from the sand.
no grocery stores within walking distance. No shuttle that we know of. Ocean sands is approx 20 min drive from ferry terminal. As ex Brits, we had no difficulty with the driving on the other side of the road. you might want to check on Google for Greyhound buses but really, you will miss a lot by not being able to drive around
