Great for walkers
Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
Stayed in Adventure Hotel for three nights early August. The room was clean with comfortable bed and super quiet ac. Love the overhead shower head. The luggage rack is a useful plus. View from window is the adjacent liquor store and Vernon St. Location is central, walking distance from one end of Baker Street to another where most of the restaurants, cafes and stores are. The hotel is also a 5-min walk to the viewpoint of Gyro Park and Prestige terminal of the Streetcar. I didn't go to the hotel pub and restaurant but the Empire Cafe has superb coffee and opens at 6am. Although the hotel has a communal pantry, it would be nice to have a mini fridge, kettle and coffee maker in the room. Complimentary guest parking has 10 spots only, first come first basis. Ample street meter parkings, free from 5pm till 9am. I found it beyond my ability to operate the TV ( see photos attached). I used the radio for some background music to mellow in the evening.

We originally booked for 1 night but extended our stay as we liked the hotel and town so much. Good value for money, bedrooms were in excellent condition and clean, good range of facilities, food and drink was great. But the highlight for us was the friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff with no exception- we couldn't have been made to feel more welcome, and the service at reception and bar/restaurant was superb, including giving us some excellent tips on places and things to do in the area. Particular thanks to Kirsty in the bar for being so friendly and helpful. You should be aware that there is limited off road parking, and if you are a light sleeper/have young children that the some of the rooms at the front of the hotel can be a little noisy as they're on the main drag. But these are minor points- we had a fabulous stay and couldn't recommend the hotel highly enough.

Hotel is located perfectly within walking distance of all downtown entertainment, restaurant, bars, breweries. Great service and restaurant downstairs. The room was perfect for a weekend stay. Staff was helpful and gave great recommendations.

Booked thru Expedia for 2 beds, ended up with bunk beds. Lukewarm ‘help’ from manager. Seemed unfriendly and standoffish from the word ‘go’. Refused to offer solution, change room or work towards some sort of solution despite lots of Hotel room vacancy
Pros: Cheerful staff. Vibrant colours! Central location. Clean rooms and bathrooms.
Cons: Small rooms. No elevator but that’s no biggie. However rooms are ‘perishable’ like bananas. Not sure what the point of leaving empty rooms is, especially when a mutually beneficial solution could probably be worked out.
Didn’t feel listened to, so here I am. Most people just want to feel heard, and I definitely didn’t feel heard by management.

Someone in Naramata mentioned to us this was a good place to stay. We were on our way to Nelson, so decided to take a chance and book in. Sooooo glad we did. Whilst the rooms are definitely spartan what more do you need. A lovely queen bed with spotless linen and full on comfort. A brillian shower, best ever with lovely clean towels etc. Loads of space in the room . Absolutely spotless situation. Normally I would be annoyed no coffee in the room however, coffee is brewing very early in the morning along with milk. So absolutley nothing to complain about. LOVED this place and would definitely recommend and definitely re-visit next time we are in the vicinity. Just LOVED it.

Rooms are fine small but fine for our family of four. The sweary and loud karaoke bar downstairs was an unwanted and unpleasant surprise. It was impossible to sleep. What a rip off. Pick if you’re a bar or a hotel - clearly this place can’t be both. Zero stars and get your act together adventure hotel!

I have been staying at the Adventure Hotel for the last 3 years, every second week for business. I have had the pleasure of dealing with Brad at the front desk, he is always polite and efficient getting me into my room and booking my next stay. What is most enjoyable about Brad is that he is always in a great mood. Travelling to Nelson is not a short trip but I always look forward to checking in and a quick conversation with Brad. Sometimes I arrive early in Nelson and I actually wait until Brad is on shift before I check in. Thank you Brad, you do a great job welcoming customers and I hope your bosses know it. See you soon.

we enjoyed 1 night stay at Adventure Hotel, nice staff, got recommendations and tips for dinner and breakfast. Walked Nelson and got to taste local beers. The room was clean, spacious, TV channels can get a better selection. Carpet on stairs a bit worn out.

The room was very clean and it was a pretty neat room overall. It was an old building but seemed in good condition. The bathroom had been remodeled recently, which was nice. The bed, however, was lumpy and hard and overall uncomfortable. That's what really drags down this hotel.

I had never seen a hotel with this type of decor before. Not sure what to call it. Vintage 70's is close. Orange and Avocado walls and carpeting. This location does not have an elevator. Parking was a little tricky and sparse. No breakfast. No fridge or microwave. Very basic room. Loved the mountains on all sides.
