Excellent place to stay! Great location. Rooms are very clean. Staff is amazing and the owner (Woody) is awesome! We always book 1 year ahead to ensure we have this motel to stay at. Best motel in Nelson.
Room was newly renovated, and clean. Had everything we need to enjoy our stay. The cleaning staff were diligent and nice. Woody the owner was very nice and I enjoyed talking with him. We stay here every year for the local car show. Close to downtown Nelson! -Rick
I've stayed here a couple of times over the years. They're just across the bridge in Nelson but that worked for me. I found the room I was in was gettng a little tired/outdated but it was very clean and the staff were pleasant.
We looked at staying in downtown Nelson but hotels were $200+. We found the Villa Motel online and the price was very reasonable. We braced ourselves for an old musty motel room with nostalgia decor. Turns out the place was reno’d a few years ago. Clean, nice big room with a giant King Size bed. Good recent model flatscreen TV, decent WiFi, plus a nice desk and chair to do some work. Small basic kitchenette with a mini fridge, sink and counter. No microwave. Small but clean washroom with bleachy white towels and very basic soap/shampoo. Coffee, glass mugs (yay) and powdered creamer. What makes the place great is the friendly hosts and the close proximity to Amanda’s Restaurant - excellent quality Chinese/Western food there. Also in the neighbourhood down the hill a couple blocks is a small sandy beach that has a majestic view of the BOB (Big Orange Bridge), and a fantastic sunset view of Nelson. Good place to launch a SUP or kayak - but the water was a little bit chilly. Caution - the sandy beach may have a few “off grid” campers at night. Mostly harmless nouvelle hippies. We would stay here again for sure!…
We very much enjoyed staying 2 nights at the Villa Motel with our 8 month old English Mastiff puppy Perseus! Very convenient for people travelling with a pet as the door is adjacent to the outside for a quick walking! Very close to the lake and boat launch, and and easy walk across the bridge to the main beach park in Nelson. The Owners and staff go above and beyond to help their guests and make them feel comfortable. Very peaceful and quiet sleep, cosy beds, definitely one of the best in Nelson on the North shore. Very convenient to zip over to walmart, safeway and bc liqour store only 5 min. There is a BBQ for use and a microwave for general use if travelling on a budget, the coffee they provide in the room was surprisingly tasty and flavourful. Larger then normal fridge to accommodate all items in our cooler. thank you! Our stay there made our trip and we cant wait to return, we will be regular guests for sure!…
Booked for one night on the way through BC. Easy to find as on the highway just before the bridge into Nelson. Free parking, very friendly greeting on check in and clean room. Comfortable bed and spacious for a motel on the main road. Very good value for money. Good short stay stop for Nelson.
The owner was EXTREMELY helpful & accommodating and staff are very friendly and courteous . Our truck broke down and we got towed to this motel. I can’t say enough good things as we were here for over 2weeks waiting on repairs (older truck). The rooms are very clean ,the kitchen is cozy, it is a one bedroom suite with 2 double beds Would highly recommend this motel as it is quiet, has a great mountain view and close to downtown so no city traffic noise As an added bonus there is a great restaurant with Canadian and great Chinese food just steps away
Rooms were clean, the staff were cordial and welcoming. Nothing fancy, just a nice clean place to come back to rest and relax in. This is the third time visiting this motel and we will be visiting again the next time we are in town.
Great place to. Great view of lake. Clean rooms. Easy in and out with car. Loved the kitchenette. Good wifi. Nice and quiet. Great beds. Had a two double bed room for more space. Friendly staff. Easy access to the downtown Nelson
I would certainly recommend the Villa Motel unless you want to go swimming. The pool building burned down. However, the room was nicely updated with very comfortable beds and a small table with 2 chairs on the walkway where we had dinner
