Although our heritage-listed building dates from 1900, Cloudside is a totally new hotel right in the heart of Nelson's historic downtown, offering stylish, contemporary alternative to standard accommodations for the discerning traveler. With just eight guest rooms (three of which have two separate bedrooms), we offer a high level of personal service and attention to detail. All of our individually-designed, modern rooms have private bathrooms, high-speed Internet access, refreshment facilities with fridges, HD satellite TV, a/c and individually controlled heating.
I am so happy I chose this little hidden gem! Sitting in their comfy bed writing this review. It is so cute, clean, love the original wooden floor in the bedroom, the bathroom is bright and cheery, love the floors in there too! If you want to stay somewhere a little unique, this would be a great choice. We are in the double bed small room, would love to try the king room next time we are in town. Bed is still cozy, pillows nice, very homey feel. Front desk was very friendly and helpful. Coffee tea stand was nice, wish there was honey is my only wish. Deck looks nice for a morning coffee, may go try it out!

Love this little hotel. Very welcoming and the room was quaint and comfortable. Much nicer than a chain hotel and had many thoughtful touches. We just wish we could have stayed longer to enjoy the hospitality.

Very quaint place. A nice break from chain hotels to give you that ,"homey" feeling. Felt like a B&B without the breakfast. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Situated in a nice neighborhood and very close walking distance to tons of restaurants and shops.

This place thought of everything! Our room was so welcoming and comfortable, absolutely spectacular. The owner is on site and ensures your stay is of the utmost quality. We have stayed all over the country, and this is by far one of if not the best place we've ever stayed. We enjoyed it so much that we intend on making this an annual adventure.

We had wanted to travel to Nelson for many years, as I had fallen in love with the little town where the 80s movie "Roxanne" was set. We picked Cloudside for our long-weekend stay and we absolutely loved it. The location was easy walking distance to the main street and many wonderful restaurants. The Maple Suite was lovely - roomy, clean, and comfortable, with a view of the mountains out the front window. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we had no problems with parking. I would love to go back to Nelson any time, and I would definitely stay at Cloudside again!

I had a four night stay here in June and loved it. Everyone was super friendly and nothing was too difficult. Had some great chats with all the staff. It felt like I was at home. Our room was great - we had a lounge area and separate bedroom. The lights go out at 10.00 pm so room was nice and dark and quiet.

15 nights touring in BC and Alberta, I was very selective in my bookings, selecting the gerr st locations and highest quality, with medium to high cost budget. I can safely say this was the best accompaniment overall. We took the top room apparently (2 double beds and a kitchen), it is roomy, exceptionally clean and furnished to a high standard. I would be happy to spend 2-3 weeks here as it had everything you need. It was 33 degrees centigrade when we arrived, but the 3 AC units assured a very comfortable room. Location…. Is always key and I could not think this hotel could be better placed for the historic high street, restaurants and bars. Chris, the owner is originally from Cheshire in the U.K. and could not have been more welcoming or helpful. I’ve stayed in some very fine hotels from all over the world, but this place really ticks all the boxes for an enjoyable, comfortable stay.…

I am sorry that I have only just seen this! Thank-you so much for your generous comments (not sure we could run those three a/c units full time if we had the UK's energy costs though...). Thanks for taking the time to give us your feedback.

I stayed here for 1 night on a solo trip on my first ever visit to Nelson. Be warned that parking in Nelson is a nightmare - there are 4 parking spots behind the hotel which can be tight to get in to if you have a large vehicle. I was warmly greeted by Chris who was very friendly, helpful and informative. I stayed in the Aspen room which was perfect. The room was immaculately clean, and the bed was sooooo comfortable. My only complaint is that the blind at the window doesn't filter the light out so I was awake as soon as it started to get light out (I'm a terrible sleeper). The floorboards are a little squeaky, but then it's a heritage home, so not totally unexpected. I loved the old fashioned radiators - even though I didn't need to use them (open window and ceiling fan for me!). The bathroom had everything I needed, and again, immaculately clean. If I ever return to Nelson, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again - it's a charming little place. Oh, and whoever wrote the guidebook for the hotel has a great sense of humour lol.…

I am grateful that you took some time to give us your feedback. I do agree that this particular room gets bright quite early in the summer and I think that you make a good point about some blackout blinds. I think should do something about that - thanks for pointing this out. And we are very happy that you enjoyed the rest of the room.

We stayed at this place years ago, when it was a B&B. it’s since been converted into an inn. We decided to indulge ourselves and sprung for a larger room. We got the Willow Room, which occupies almost half of the main floor. It has a large bedroom, a separate sitting area and it own porch. The entire inn is nicely appointed, and it’s only a block from the downtown area. a very relaxing place to stay
