I had an amazing sleep with the ambiance of a flickering fire next to the uber comfy bed. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. The spa is very modern, warm and welcoming. Wish I could have stayed a second night!

Do yourself a favour and book your time in Nelson with this hotel! Everything meets the highest standards from the beautifully renovated guest rooms, to the excellent service, to the wonderful cuisine, to the old-world character of this heritage property. The restoration of the hotel was not complete when we were there, but from what we experienced, we are excited...

I've been meaning to thank you for such an awesome review of our hotel. We too are excited to see the final Phase 6 of our renovations come to a finish by the new year. The lobby level is really the final piece of the puzzle. We are happy that you loved everything about this place. We look forward to...

We arrived in Nelson, mid afternoon, in mid July. There was a terrible wind storm blowing down the lake, which had knocked out the power to much of town. Nelson is not a great town for someone like me, that has difficulty walking. It is very hilly, yet beautiful at showing it's age. It is an old city. We managed...

It so happens that we are working on our entrance as we speak. It is part of our Phase 6 renovation project. The entire lobby level is getting a facelift. Thanks for the details. I always appreciate it when people really take the time to write about their unique experience here at our property. I hope you will be back...

Old hotel that has been remodeled over the last 4 years. The rooms are top notch and the rate includes breakfast and a round of golf ! It also has a neat bar, a nice restaurant, and a convenience store attached. One downside = limited parking; thankfully there were plenty of spots on the street. Overall, great place -- we...

Thanks for the glowing review, Zachary. We have been working hard fixing this old place up but keeping that heritage charm. We hope to have our lobby level finished by the new year! We hope you will be back to check us out.

Very clean and modern hotel, ideally situated near Baker Street. Short walk to shops and restaurants. The restaurant and bar within the hotel are very good. For breakfast, you can choose a complimentary meal or order from the menu. Rooms are spacious. We had a unique layout, with two queen beds separated by a partition wall, with a TV on...

Due to it's city centre location being very handy for our meeting the following morning, we chose the Hume Hotel for our one-night stay. The front desk staff member that greeted us was friendly and very accommodating. Due to the parkade next door being closed for renovations, the parking around the hotel was at a premium, so she directed us...

Thank you for this detailed account of your stay. I would have to agree, the most impressive thing about this property is the quality of the staff. Always professional and friendly! Sounds as though you enjoyed your meals and free breakfast as well. We look forward to seeing you back soon.

Although this is a big hotel it has a cosy feel and wonderful charm though it does not lack modern facilities, its a really nice combination of tradition and modern. The staff are nice, the rooms are excellent, and the bar and restaurant have character. Parking can be a problem as the hotel car park is limited to a few...

Thanks for mentioning many of our positive attributes, particularly the staff, the charm and the character. These are the factors that make us truly unique. I am happy that you noticed and enjoyed yourself. A walk along the waterfront is a must for any visitor. Come back soon, thundachild.

Food, service, staff all top notch! Food is amazing. Location perfect. Parade closed so parking is quite thin. Staff is amazingly friendly and efficient. Pub is clean & friendly. Can make it a bit noisy in some rooms, but you get earplugs.

Hey thanks again for another wonderful review of our property. We appreciate the five star review despite parking being a real issue right now with the Parkade temporarily closed. It is really interesting observing human behaviour's reaction to seeing earplugs in the rooms. The response we get is so varied. Some people are horrified to see them while others may...

We loved our room (the Hume Suite) and the location of this historic hotel. Our room was large and seemed recently remodelled. The service was great and the location perfect, especially as we were there while the vintage car festival was ongoing. We also enjoyed the vibe of this town. Free off street parking was a breeze to find, so...

You don't know how refreshing it is to read a review where city "street parking was a breeze to find", particularly on our busiest weekend of the year. Road Kings Car Club of Nelson put on a terrific show every year. We hope to see you back next year...!

The primary reason the Hume doesn't make it to the 4 bubble level (at least in my world) may not really be their fault - it's the parking situation, or lack thereof or difficulty therein. What a hassle! It's to the point that we probably would not stay there again or recommend others to try to, which is a shame...

You are no doubt correct in your conclusion that parking is a challenge in the City of Nelson and at the Hume. Luckily we are situated next to the City Parkade however it is currently being renovated for structural improvements which makes finding spots for even more difficult. We are happy to report that we have struck up an agreement...
