I had tried to book through a third-party website for a hotel in Kamloops and after several searches and clicking on Days inn in Kamloops and following several pages before I could find a reserve button, and clicked on that button did I realize that somehow this hotel had come into the picture some thing I had not search for or had seen anywhere on the multiple pages I had been sent to, and when trying to check into my hotel they informed me that there was no reservation, and I had to make a new reservation for that hotel. I tried speaking to the third-party website which is Priceline and I would not recommend to anyone and will also leave a review with them as well, and when I tried to explain to the East Indian that answered the phone at this hotel, he was unsympathetic and would not take my number down for the manager or get the manager to call me, as they had been paid for a stay that I had not even checked in for or attended and tried to rectify the situation immediately. I am a fairly savvy person as far as computers go and when I went to redo the reservation in the smallest fine print below the button it said it was for the merit quality inn, which I think should not be allowed. I think this is an easy way to get peoples money that are busy or even just slightly distracted or older people that can’t see very well and I think it should be boycotted. I would strongly encourage anybody who is passing through Merritt to not stay at this hotel and go anywhere else because this business has no desire to rectify the situation. I had just been in the hospital after losing my baby and had had no income coming in for several months I didn’t have extra money to spend on even one hotel let alone paying for two that I wasn’t even staying at. The east Indian man told me that I had to deal with the website and they would not be refunding their part even though they did not have to Deal with me at all and basically just took my money without providing a service which I think is the worst business practice and I really hope that people will read this and choose another hotel I will also be asking my friends in Merritt an Kamloops to do the same.…
So friendly, so clean, pet friendly and this mattress is freaking AMAZING (I will be asking them for the brand - SO good). Good coffee, fridge and microwave, convenient parking, convenient location and last but not least there is someone name Curby who is handman central. So awesome it took him no time at all to fix a tv issue and also to help me get a stuck key out of my roof rack - and it’s COLD lol. He did it all with a smile, professional and kind. I’ll never pass through Merritt and stay anywhere else. I vouch.
I needed an early check-in - no problem - they gave us a bit of an upgrade to the room that was available for an early check-in. Close to everything and easy to find, the room was clean, breakfast was good.
The treatment we got there was exceptional. We were at the end of 12 hour travel day. Very tired & just looking for an inexpensive room to shower & sleep. They said all they had left was a suite. The price was more then we wanted to pay. They accommodated us. The other hitch was our credit cards were compromised & were cancelled. We only had cash & debit. They accommodated us again. We decided we needed a night cap. I went to get ice but their ice machine was broken. We were going to make do. The nice fellow at the desk later met me in the courtyard,calling out my name & gave me a little bag from his own fridge!
- could tell it had been a smoking room even though they claimed it wasn’t, foul smell - outside redone to look new, rooms old & rundown - ladies thong was on the floor - bathroom door was upside down & wouldn’t stay closed - shower curtain old & stained - pool & hot tub advertised neither working - ceramic floor tile cracked & broken - fridge in corner door opened wrong way difficult to get in - carpet frayed where it met tile
Absolutely disgusting. Sheets on BOTH beds, including all pillows have Not been washed. Husband had to go back to car to get our pillows and blankes. Diirty wallls lock on door doesn't work. Just awful. Paid $125. Traveling and too tired to keep driving. Never again. Will tell all my friends.
We were arriving after midnight and the hotel manager told us we could call when we got there and he would give us the room key, which was nice (however it does say it's a 24 hour service hotel). The room had a horrible stench of smoke - either from heavy smokers 20 years ago when you used to be able to smoke in hotel rooms, or because smokers just ignore the no smoking signs. The beds weren't very comfortable and I didn't want to take my shoes off on the carpet. The towels were awful - almost like a t-towel. I think we would have been better off staying in our car for the night and saved the $200.
Thin 4” foam on a box spring!! Wow we should have slept in the car. Went to roll over and almost fell on the floor. Left several messages, for the manager, but Sam doesn’t want to return my calls. The room rate was $290.00 which is a lot of money for a piece of light foam. This Hotel was the only hotel, in Merritt, with rooms and now I know why! Another couple, leaving at the same time commented they also had a terrible sleep! When we checked in, the front desk was bragging about how much money they were making, given the disaster clean up! Gee, buy some good mattresses for your customers!! This hotel is a 3 trying to dress up as a 9 and should only be charging $60.00!!! The smell of breakfast was discussing, no one like the smell of burnt grease!! This is my first negative hotel review!! Quality Inn you have lost a customer.…
I love Merritt, OK Falls and Vancouver ! BC is breathtaking and wildly beautiful. The people are friendly. I never ran out of sights to visit and i was never dissapointed. Next time i want to go to the island.
Both of us needed some well deserved rest and we got lots of it here. The staff go out of their way to meet our needs. Breakfast was the best ever! Fresh waffle maker, eggs, sausages and yogurt among lots more. There is a sushi restaurant next door and another Home Restaurant a few minutes by walk. We got all our online work done and more. Will come again for more R and R!
