Rose and Doug were fantastic hosts. Room and view were fantastic. Extremely clean and comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful with a variety of choices. Had a lot of fun with Doug and his dog as they fed the animals. (donkeys, lamas, goats, horses, dog) A great value B & B. A must stay!!!!!!!
The three of us absolutely loved this place. Owner's very nice and friendly and the animals and location are awesome. The rooms themselves are so big we were amazed, also have outside balcony with seating. Everything was so very clean. There are many animals, like a mini horse, donkeys, chickens, a lama and more and a cute adopted dog named Second Chance. The location itself, on top of a hill, overlooks the valley and paddocks with horses running around..wow
We spent 4 nights at the Running Waters B&B during the music festival in late July. It's a convenient location, about 11 km from downtown Merritt along Highway 8 towards Spence's Bridge. The house is fairly new (about 15 years old) and as a purpose-built B&B has all the amenities one could desire - large bedrooms, modern bathrooms, individual balconies, sitting room with coffee and tea, etc. The yard is huge, 4 ha or so, and has plenty of animals (horses, goats, alpacas, donkeys, chickens - you name it). Front bedrooms have a great view of the irrigated farmland along the Nicola River. Breakfasts are hearty and served at a decent time (none of those 6 am wake-up calls here!). Rose Isbister is the owner and treated us like family. The rates are very reasonable and the peace and quiet is free. We would definitely recommend it for both those looking to enjoy the scenery and history of the Nicola and Coldwater Valleys (including remnants of the old KVR) or those looking for a restful stop a few hours from Vancouver.…
It is definitely worth driving the few kilometres from Merritt to find this excellent B & B. We stayed in the Western Room which was huge with a fridge & it's own balcony. Just outside the room are tea/coffee making facilities. The animals on the estate were a bonus - children would love them. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this B & B to other travellers.
We stayed at Running Waters on April 1st and it was delightful for many reasons. First, our hosts including Chance, their dog were very gracious and welcoming. Our room was spotless, large and comfortable with lovely views of theNicola Valley.. We loved the many friendly animals on the ranch and had a chance to feed them in the morning. We enjoyed a long walk in the evening and thoroughly enjoyed our taste of ranch life at Running Waters.
