Check-in was fast and friendly, The room was a bit tired, but clean ...a reno wouldn't hurt. Breakfast was included in the price, and I was told that breakfast started at 6:30am. The next morning I came down at 7:00am for breakfast only to find it still closed, so I had to go grab breakfast elsewhere as I needed to get on the road. It's in a good location, but next time I might check out somewhere else.

As we most of the time stay in Travelodge hotels this time we decided to stay in this one.hotel is dated, but clean and rooms quite large, beds quite comfortable.Problems started with heating, which did not work,we were offered other room but situation was the same,Internet did not have a good connection. On a plus side, nice breakfast, lots of room to park around,Staff was very understanding and helpful and tried to help as much as they could.

We were on our way to Vancouver to attend the Grey Cup game and decided to go a day earlier [2014-11-28] and stay in Merritt to break up the drive. The room was slightly larger than expected. It also had a fridge and microwave as well as a coffee maker. The hotel provides a basic complimentary Continental Breakfast which included a self service waffle maker. Every employee I met in the hotel was very friendly and polite. The hotel has an indoor pool, however we never did get a chance to use it. The carpet in the hallways are pretty worn and should be replaced. The beds were okay and the wifi worked very well. Overall I was happy with our stay at this hotel and would stay here again.

Dear DeadeyeAB, We really appreciate your taking the time to write the review. Because of the heavy traffic in the hallways, the carpet is noticeably worn out. We are going to inform the GM about it. Thank you. Front Desk Staff

Upon checking out we forgot our Iphone on the night stand. it was 25 minutes till we could get back to the hotel. We called and when we got back the front desk said the phone was not there. Well there is a web site that searches apple equipment,,hmmm ya it was in the hotel. 4 of us searched the room and the beds were not made up so it should have been there. after an hour and a half I called the police, they found one of the chamber maids to be acting nervous. after almost 3 hours it showed up soaking wet in the laundry, imagine that got in the laundry and the room wasnt even changed over yet. DO NOT STAY HERE

In the past we have never had a problem getting forgotten items returned to there respective owners. I am sure your phone would have returned to you also. Your phone was found later than you had anticipated in the laundry. We have had many compliments about our customer service and employee theft is not tolerated at our hotel.

I was travelling to Vancouver last night and decided to stop in Merritt because of poor road conditions. There is a group of hotels just off the highway in Merritt and after looking them over, I decided to give the Travelodge a try. I was partly attracted to it because of the Sushi Restaurant attached. I found the room to be very clean and well cared for, good temperature control and every detail thought of. The staff are very nice and competent. Buffet breakfast is provided including fruit and yoghurt. Dinner at Nicola Sushi was good too. All in all, a very pleasant end to a trying evening on the road. PS After dinner, I went down the road to the Coldwater Hotel, the original copper roofed hotel in downtown Merritt for a drink. An experience not to be missed.

We picked this hotel because of the government rate, $65 a night, The desk clark was very nice and quite helpful. The room was on the second floor and involved going up a quite long set of stairs. The hallway was a bit worn as was the rest of the hotel. The room was ok and looked like renos had started but not finished as there was no baseboards on the walls and the bathroom was a bit dated. The breakfast was ok and there was a waffle maker located outside the breakfast room which we missed. On a budget? give this a try

All reviews are encourage and appreciated, so thank-you for submitting your review, because all reviews are very important to us. I'm please to hear that our front desk staff was courteous and quite helpful. For we are only here to make sure your stay is most pleasant and a comfortable. Yes, renos have started and painters have finished. Now the baseboard are being placed in the hallways and also in most rooms. It really does take time and time is all were asking for. Just as one project finishes a new one arises. This is also a hard task expecially with guest checking in and out, but the task is getting done. Renovations is an ongoing process here at Merritt Travelodge. And more is yet to come as renovations are not totally finished. We are very proud of our accompliments this year, and the year is not over yet. Yes, our continential breakfast area has been extended outwards with tables and chairs for the high volume of guest we get on the weekends. I'm very sorry you missed the waffle machine. We do humbly apologize. Yes, more signs could of solved this problem. I'm truely very sorry! Thank-you for your review. From all of us here at Merritt Travelodge. Have yourself a great wonderful day! Travelodge Merritt.

We chose to stay at the Travelodge instead of the Best Western, as we had a $15 gift certificate that we thought we may as well use. That was our first mistake. The lobby was the nicest part of the place! The lobby clerk was friendly and suggested that we pay an extra $10 for a room with a view. It seemed like a good idea at the time, but the view turned out to be a very good view of the hotel's outside sign and the busy street, and a very slight view of the mountains in the far distance. Also, the windows were old and the traffic noise wss loud through the closed window. Our room wasn't too bad, but one of the cups in our room had been used!! Yuck! Another reason for staying there was that they had a hot tub, and we tried to use it once they finally managed to get the jets working, but it was SOO hot that we could barely poke our toe in, so we certainly never stayed in for long - - this from someone who loves a HOT hot tub. The whole pool and spa area was shabby and needed an upgrade -- the handrail on the hot tub was even loose! My biggest complaint, though, was that the pillow in my room was so lumpy and overall bad that it kept me from having a good sleep - - normally I travel with my own but this time I did not, much to my regret. We were told that we could park in the upper parkng lot, where the door was on the same level as our room, however the area was very dimly lit and I would not have parked there if I had been travelling alone, being a lady who often does. The bed was comfortable enough if you could overlook the noise and the pillow. The beds had quilted bedspreads on them - - not a favorite with me as I always wonder if they were used by the traveller before me. The motel's only redeeming factor was that the continental breakfast was surprisingly good - - lots of variety and excellent coffee!! Our room had a coffee pot, microwave and small fridge, and those were appreciated.

We would like to thank-you for this review, for this is the only way for us to know what we have to do to make our Hotel a better place for you and our future guest. Thank-you for choosing Travelodge Merritt. I would like to start off apologizing for all the grief that our Hotel cost you on your stay with us. You did address many things in your review on what we had to work on. And yes, we do take all reviews very serious and into consideration. For this would only make us a better Hotel if we can learn from our guest reviews. I would like to mention that we are recently under new ownership and under new management. So we do welcome all reviews for this purpose. Even though construction is underway and renovation in progress you as a guest is the most important thing to our industry. Taking everything you said in consideration I would like to humbly apologize to you and your partner for your uncomfortable stay. As you did mention about the lumpy pilllows and your uncomfortable sleep. As we can only get surprisingly better with the comments our guest brings forth and with this, this brings change, and this is a good thing! So as we blossom and flourish to excel within our guest expectations as a Hotel. I would like to say we do greatly appreciate and emphasize on how important your reveiws are to our business. And from this, we are learning and improving everyday. Thanks to our guest! Have a great wonderful day, Merritt Travelodge.
