This small motel was very pleasant. It’s in the older part of Merritt. Nothing special but we were welcomed and the place was clean and tidy. However, but a bit dated. Would stay again. There is a whole other side to Merritt we discovered on our way out of town the next morning on Hwy#5

We set off from Richmond, Vancouver and travelled up through Squamish, Whistler, and intended to stay at Kamloops. The 'Senior Games', there was no accommodation available anywhere on so we drove on to Merrit, not arriving until 7:15 p.m. Found the owner very nice and helpful - and was able to view the room before we took it!

We arrived at night with no booking. The manager was very nice and accommodating. We got a good clean room for the night for a very fair price. We did not need to do much besides sleep and thats what we got to do. We travel from Alberta to Vancouver a lot and sometimes we have to stay at a motel in between. This is one of them that I remember being very nice. If we ever need a room in Merritt again this is where we are going to go.

We are here on business and family trip. I am very suprised to be honest. When we first came and looked we weren't that impressed. But for the price. $245 a week and if my husband stays for the month while hes working the owner will work out something around $750. I just got here and unpacked. Once I opened the blinds, turned on the lights and the heat, I immedietly felt comfortable and cozy.
We are in the spacious two bedroom, actually one bedroom and a bed in the living room but both areas have tvs. Free wifi that actually works 5 bars, not like the other hotels we've stayed at. We were lucky to get 4 bars for 5 or 10 minutes. The laundry room at Ranchland Villa is less expensive than the town laundromat. I think it is $2.75-$3.00 per wash and dry. The room is clean, although a bit outdated, but I've never been the picky type as long as I don't feel uncomfortable. We were staying at the econolodge last week and were charged $400 for one week. We are in walking distance to anything in town.
The owner is a sweet, chatty women who really welcomed us and made our stay a good experience. So I give it a 5 out of 5 dispite the need for an update to the rooms. Oh I should mention that the other room I seen was no bedroom but the same as this suite for looks.

This place is amazing. I don't usually sleep when I stay at various hotels, but this place has good comfortable beds and I didn't feel like I was not home. The front desk was amazing and helped me pick a place for dinner and gave me directions. Very helpful !

The woman manning the desk who greeted us, showed us our room, truly made us feel welcomed. Thank you for your genuine hospitality. The room are clean & well taken care of. Best part were the beds: firm, supportive & very comfortable! If we need to spend the night in Merritt again, we will certainly look the Ranchland Villa Motel up!

This motel is on the edge of town, but I got the sense that they prefer catering to long term guests and they treat all the guests the same. The lady on the desk went to each room checking that guests were satisfied and had everything they needed. There are pots and silverware in the kitchenette so you can prepare meals, but I would recommend washing the dishes before and after use as you don't know how the previous person washed them. The room was $75 which is in the affordable range and was very good considering most of the other hotels were fully booked.

If you are needing a place to crash in Merritt, this is a good choice. Its a no frills place, but its very clean and the staff are very kind. Its not impressive but its not disgusting like some of the other places in this price range.

We just stayed there (Feb28/29)
Nothing fancy, decent.
The good:
-Room was clean
-Relatively Soundproof considering how. Lose you are to the road

The bad:

-Tv has two remotes and was not set to be able to watch without me spending 15 minutes pushing buttons.I then went to the office and asked the attendant to come see if he could get it to work. He speaks minimal English, so after another 15 of him trying and me trying to communicate, I gave up and said I’d figure it out myself.
Eventually I managed to get just ONE Channel to work.
-The toilet kept running if I didn’t wiggle the handle the right way
-the bathroom is really small, the door just barely clears the toilet so you almost have to climb into the shower and then close the door
