Had to stay the night somewhere, should’ve slept in our SUV. This place should be demolished and condemned. Silverfish coming out of bathtub and sink drains, towels were dark colour so assumed never bleached, dirt on lino floors, just an absolute dump. Feel the springs through the bed top, tables dirty, coffee pot didn’t work. Stay away and go anywhere else!!
Chewing on was difficult, no one at the desk so ring the bell lady shows up but can’t check us in so she tracks down the manager who is covering the till at the beer store. When you book a room for the night it’s because you want a lace to sleep dose t have to be fancy and this is not. Smart money says you don’t put overnight guests in a room over the karaoke bar. These people aren’t smart or don’t care.
Very good food nice atmosphere a welcome addition to restaurant options in Merritt. I am hard to impress and was extremely impressed with flavor, presentation and service. Recommend everyone check this place out.. In one word OUTSTANDING
Stopped in to the newly owned "Val Nic" or Desert Inn. The new owners know how to cook, the food was impeccable! Arrived quickly, fresh and hot. If you like East Indian food you need to come here. They also have a regular menu for your little ones if they don't like East Indian cuisine.
The main billboard outside says "Wings, $.50 everyday from 4-7. We went there on two separate occasions to give them a try and both times they had no wings??? I suggested that they remove the ad and all he said was "sorry". To add to that they place is run down, dirty and just in need of HELP!
After 9 hours of driving, we were tired and just needed a place to sleep. Arrived past 10pm and they were very pleasant and friendly checking us in. Even though it's an older hotel, the beds were comfortable (room 223), and there was good water pressure in the shower. Clean bedding and towels are more important to me than the look of the room.
our group stopped for lunch. we had beef dip and grilled ham and cheese . service was good. food was tasty. not as hot as it could have been , but hey, its just a little town. I think this has seen better days, but its such a tough business to begin with. I think we would go back, because the value was fantastic. lunch , including tea or coffee for $ 9.95
Stayed here the past weekend. Will NEVER go back. Dirty stained shag carpet ,room smelt musty,no shower curtain used bars if soap, blow dryer didn't work, room not completed, stained bathroom towels, extremely noisy room above the pub. Could hear people walking down halls and using their key to get in their rooms. Was extremely awkward checking in as they do not use their front desk and you go into the bar to check in where the lonely bar made will walk away mid checking you in so she can refill the locals empty beer glasses. Next morning no one in site to change our room or to make complaint. Finally contacted someone to change room for the second night stay. The heater did not work and It snowing outside so very cold. Beds uncomfortable again stain rugs with spills dried up on them blow dryer did not work, wierd smell in room again and walls so thin could hear snoring all night from neigh outing room. In morning again no one in site at front desk to check out as they expect you to just throw your key on front counter where anyone can take it. Extremely dirty location and no customer service at all. Save your money and do not stay here! I will never go back there! And worst thing is they do not even care about any of this.…
We found this Inn to be very dirty the rooms had stained rugs, thrown liquid on walls. The bedding stunk, no wash cloths, filthy toilets, springs poking through in beds and strippers swearing and fighting with customers they were taking to their room. The heater in room could not be turned down and was so loud you couldn't sleep. Absolutely not a family place and very unsafe. Private information including room numbers was given out to bar patrons, very unprofessional. A couple of the staff were very friendly but otherwise not so much as a hello.
