At the Best Western Mountainview Inn, guests have called out the spacious and clean accommodations, complete with a satisfying complimentary breakfast. While the hotel is praised for its convenient location and service dog-friendly policies, travelers have experienced issues with Wi-Fi consistency and noise within the rooms. The staff's friendly and prompt service is a highlight, although some guests feel that the pricing doesn't match the hotel's offerings. Despite mixed reviews about room decor and atmosphere, the overall cleanliness receives positive remarks.

We stayed for one night on our way to Vancouver. Comfortable room that was a good size, comfortable beds, great air conditioning and the hotel was so quiet given how busy it was. Good selection at breakfast, friendly staff. Would stay again.

This hotel was excellent value with amenities, view of kicking horse mountain and room size. Staff were amazing managing COVID protocols especially with breakfast area. The full breakfast included with your stay is amazing and makes this hotel a topic pick. The hotel was full with high school provincial ski teams, and the rooms and doors all well designed for quietness. We rented the family size room and with all our ski gear was a welcome site for space at just over 700sqft. if I can point to one opportunity is perhaps creating a ski locker options. With all the skiers the amount of ski’s and snowboards being packed around will eventually result in more maintenance needs on hallways and room walls and carpets. Perhaps create a ski locker system on the main floor to help store skis outside of rooms, and having to carry them throughout the hotel.

Good afternoon 443FrankV, Thank you so much for taking the time to provide us with invaluable feedback. We strive ourselves on providing excellence service, and we are pleased to hear how much you enjoyed the property, level of service, care, food. Your idea on a ski storage room is certainly something I will have to further investigate, as this is an excellent recommendation. We look forward to hosting you again in the near future. Safe travels,

After a less than satisfactory stay at a Best Western somewhere in Florida a few years ago, I quipped that instead of "Best Western" and "Best Western Plus", only the best hotels in the chain perhaps should be labelled "Best Western" – and the others only "OK Western", "Good Western", "Better Western", as appropriate.
Accordingly, as we were crossing through Golden last week and needed a bed for the night, we booked this Best Western with some caution.
We needn't have worried. Clearly, the Best Western management (or perhaps only this particular franchisee) have been listening, and have improved their game. The lobby is inviting; the room spacious and well appointed. USB recharging stands on the bedside tables, and reading lamps you can read by (hurrah!). A pool. A highly solicitous receptionist (Darwin).
And best of all: a buffet breakfast with metal cutlery (like the old times); 3 types of cereal; excellent scrambled eggs; the crispiest bacon you have ever had; sausages; a wafflemaker; a toastmaker; a pancake maker (!); yoghurt with multiple toppings; tea, coffee, and juices. The only faults: a mysterious lack of tablespoons, and no black tea, only various herbal teas. Easily fixed.

We checked in on March 9th. A gentleman, whom I assumed was the manager, said he would check to see if the room was ready & came back & said it was. Girl ran through my credit card for more than the room was, however, that is standard practise.
We parked near the back as I asked for a room near the door for my husband who has trouble walking. We are both Seniors. On the side of the hotel the water in the parking lot is almost up to the bottom of the door if you have to drive in the centre. I walked to the front & got a luggage rack, and we loaded the rack, going through 2 heavy doors to our room.

We unpacked our necessary items, I sanitized the whole room, and we sat down to watch TV. TV has no signal. Called the front desk, & she said that she would come and fix it. No fix, so said the guy would be out in the morning. We said we wanted TV so she said we could move to another room. We had to repack, and move to the other room, carrying all our things. Mostly I did as it is hard to carry suitcases, cooler and balance a cane.

I cleaned the room again & decided to make popcorn. Microwave does not work very well. took 10 minutes to make popcorn. Supper which I had brought was 20 minutes. When I went to the front to tell the girl and she said I could use the Microwave in the front. When closed the bathroom door, it was filthy behind it. Next morning we got up and the little coffee maker would not work at all in the room.
Next morning my husband walked to the front, & told the girl what had happened the night before & she said the manager was not in, but gave him Maneesh's email. My husband could not stand any longer, & so did not check out or get our corrected bill.
After contacting Maneesh twice the next day we are still waiting to hear from him. I sent my review from BW as to how was our stay.
They contacted me with an email saying they were sorry the microwave and coffee pot did not work & the bathroom was dirty behind the door. No mention of TV or the inconvenient move. And I should call them & talk about it. Talk about what?? How they have cleaned the room, replaced the Microwave & coffee maker, adjusted our bill?

I stayed here for one night in October 2020. The hotel and service were fine EXCEPT for the room being so dim it was more like a cave. There were three lamps and a ceiling fixture and all of them must have been furnished with 25W bulbs. I literally had to use the flashlight on my iPhone in order to read after dark in the room. I don't know if the owners are trying to save on their electric bill, or foolishly thinking they can have an effect on the environment but I won't stay here again. I'd suggest anyone who wants to should bring a lantern. Also, there was a nice spider building a web in the lampshade next to the bed.

I am terribly sorry that the lighting was an issue for you. We have been working on a replacement light between the beds and will hopefully soon have this issue rectified. As for the spider, its that time of year when all the little bugs are trying to find a warm place for the winter. We are diligently keeping an eye out for them so we can place them back outside in their natural habitat.

This hotel appears relatively fresh and decently appointed. I asked if it had been recently built but they said no, it had been remodeled in the last couple of years.

Rooms are good and the facilities are what you’d expect with the exception of no outdoor hot tub, which I was hoping to use after a day in the slopes of Kicking Horse Mountain. There is an indoor jacuzzi next to the indoor pool that was inundated with kids running around.

The breakfast was better than expected with pancakes as well as waffles, eggs, sausage, bacon, etc. That certainly can save you some money, particularly for families.

My only true disappointment was the absence of maid service. While apologetic, the front desk staff only offered a few extra towels and no consideration for the inconvenience. That’s a training issue.

All said, I would consider returning to this hotel for a future stay.

Our stay at this property was very good. Rooms were very clean and straight forward. Management was very helpful to ensure all three rooms in our party were together.
We needed an early start so we were glad to see a hot breakfast buffet open at 6:30am. Standard fare but ample quantities so everyone was well-fueled.
Not right on the highway so not terribly noisy but cannot escape the sound of trains - it is Golden after all!

Upon entering the room we thought it was nice and roomy and the couch was a nice feature. Stayed 2 nights and after first night the wifi didn’t work. Called front desk because the wifi booster in the room wasn’t powering on (not sure why room 105 needed a booster as we were 100 ft front front desk) He called me back and said the wifi had been “reset”. When we returned later in the day we found that the bed sheets had been folded over but one pillow was on the couch in a pile with the spare blanket. The coffee and cups had not been replenished and there was a tissue and piece of plastic on the bathroom floor that weren’t there when we left. The new towels were left on the sink. Finally the wifi never worked the rest of our stay. The bed was comfy and breakfast was decent but no bacon and the potatoes were undercooked the first morning. I asked if they had plastic spoons so I could take a yogurt back to my room. The lady said no as the food is meant to be eaten there. I asked if I could take regular spoon to my room and she just laughed and said no you can’t take that. To sum it up $340 a night is way over priced.
