The Ramada Limited Golden offers a stay that has garnered mixed reactions, with some guests praising the hotel's convenient location and comfortable beds, yet others express dissatisfaction with the value, pointing out the dated amenities and lack of dining options in the vicinity. Stopped here for two nights while skiing Kicking Horse. The room was clean and the price was right. Breakfast was plentiful - scrambled eggs and sausages and such - but it was the same both days. We arrived late and they accommodated our requests for plates and silverware in order to micro the light dinner we had brought (due to dietary limitations). We didn't try the pool area but judging from the stream and screams of kids, I think it was well enjoyed.

My husband and I were traveling through and decided to spend 2 nights at this hotel. We found it to be a good location as we wanted to be near the highway for a day trip to Lake Louise. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and beds were comfy! We used the coin laundry facilities with no issues. Pool was clean and hot tub was lovely after hiking! The only thing we were disappointed in was the breakfast. When we booked it said free breakfast, due to COVID it was a “grab and go” breakfast, which consisted of a banana, juice box, and very small Kirkland granola bar. You could also grab a yogurt. To me this is a snack not even close to a breakfast! I think the company could do better for the breakfast (muffins, bagels, boiled eggs?) or pair with the local Tim Hortons or breakfast location for a coupons, or reduce rates!

We booked the Ramada last minute as we had just driven from Jasper and needed an overnight hotel until we left for western BC the following day.

160 for a night wasn't worth it, especially since we were not given a continental breakfast. A bag with a banana, juice box and a bar is a slap in the face to paying customers who select to have an included breakfast in their price. We had not seen any message indicating this "breakfast". I brought this issue up to the hotel desk employee, but she did not seem to care.

Since my vacation has started, I've stayed in Radisson and Holiday Inn hotels in BC and Alberta, as I'm a member with their reward programs. I've been able to get a hot and satisfying breakfast with both, as well as a discount for being a front line worker. Unfortunately Wyndham hotels I've stayed with haven't done the same, and I'm a gold member.

Overall, this facility did have an open gym and pool, the rooms were nice and the employee who checked us in was super helpful and friendly. Price isn't worth it and make sure you don't include the breakfast option, it's a rip off.

My main concern during our stay was cleanliness, especially during a pandemic. There was visible dirt on the doors around the door knobs, the shower curtain was dirty, there were smears of unknown substances on the headboards. All of this was easily cleaned when we went through the whole room with disinfectant wipes. Clearly the housekeeping staff are not doing any extra cleaning. The TV did not work and the fridge froze everything. We were given no information about the hotel at check in and were not asked how our stay was at check out. Next time we are in Golden, we will stay elsewhere.

Our visit to Golden went well but our stay at the Ramada was miserable, the hotel and customer service there was TERRIBLE.

Upon arriving we noted the beds were made but the sheets were dirty and the room needed to be cleaned. The walls and area around the door handles were gross. The rooms were hot and stale, even with the AC running it was still uncomfortable.
On our second night there was a party above us and the noise was unbearable, I tried to call the front desk but the phones didn't work and when I went down to see them in person no one was there. Myself and another gentleman (who had the same complaint) waited nearly 20 minutes but no one showed.

The continental breakfast was barely eatable. Cereal was stale, scrambled eggs were precooked and wrapped in plastic wrap which you had to microwave and with only one microwave there was a huge line up, why not provide 2 or 3??? There was no toast or bagels, why couldn't they employ a local bakery to provide some pastries or muffins instead of the crap they served?

Upon leaving we noted and thought they had charged us double...but as per the rude host this was actually their price. The did not honor the quote we received over the phone and they were adamant they were not budging. Not that I was expecting anything but I thought they might give us a discount for the crappy sleep / excess noise. The rudeness and the lack of ownership really was that bad...

I don't understand how those people can run a business.

We stayed on the main floor (room 109) and spent the evening killing fruit flies (probably at least 30 of them). Then, I had to take a wet wipe and clean the light switches because they were so dirty. I would never stay here again.

We arrived late needing to get children and a baby to bed.
As my daughter climbed in bed to go to sleep, she remarked, “Ew!!! I’m not sleeping in this bed!” I though she was overreacting and tried to just get them to go to sleep, but she wanted to know what was spilled in her bed. When I looked I couldn’t even tell her what I thought it was.

We couldn’t pick up and leave with tired children and a baby that needed to get to bed ASAP, not 1-2 hours later to find another hotel.
I just tried to diffuse the situation by going and getting clean sheets for all three beds in the room. When I got back she showed me the “leak” had gone through to the comforter, in the same spot, as well. I had to go back down and get more bedding. It is still disgusting to know that the beds were very obviously made with dirty sheets and comforters. We found 4 pieces of garbage on the floor, one was an earplug which my 1 year old baby could have put in his mouth and choked on. Other things looked like they had not been cleaned for at least months (see pictures).
In the morning they discounted us down to $100. This is even more insulting. We would not pay even some cheap economy rate for such a filthy room. People should not be expected to pay for that. The manager would not return calls or email even though he passed on a message to staff that he would. Completely unacceptable.

Breakfast was a preschool snack bag, just enough to insult guests. Other hotels have someone serving out hot items if desired and many more options to grab and go. This place is still using the pandemic as an excuse to provide poor service. Not sure what excuse there is for giving guests such a filthy room though.

Not that this review will go anywhere as I saw all the repeated reply's from management and he's just copying and pasting, not even bothering to actually read the reviews, he is probably the guy that checked us in.
The guy we had at check in wasn't pleasant, was a little to abrupt answering questions and rude actually. Didn't offer my other guest an extra room key, told us nothing about swimming pool etc.... Room was decent, not special. Found some hairs from last people in our room, so there we ran out bought our own cleaner to wipe everything down, quite disgusting we had to do that especially during covid, worst Ramada I have ever stayed at. Continental breakfast is a paper bag with a Costco granola bar, green banana and a juice box, not taking into consideration of allergies. I’ve stayed at other Ramada's since covid that have much better greetings and always happy to answer questions. Also not one staff member was wearing a mask! Won't recommend, and will tell many that travel through Golden, don't waste your money, go somewhere else. Will post on other media sites as well :)

The Ramada was a good place to stay in Golden. Fairly well priced with a very good location. Rooms were comfortable and we stayed at the back to try and reduce the noise which helped. Darvin who was on the front desk in the evening was very helpful and friendly

We stayed here for 4 nights

*Be sure to check online booking, prior to your stay because you may find a cheaper rate that calling the hotel.
*Be sure to check that the in-line rate is in CAD dollars because some are in American Dollars.

*The front desk had a bagged lunch and coffee each morning
* They supplied real cream rather than creamers.
*Bagged breakfast was good but the coffee was terribly weak
*Pool and Hot Tub was available for guests
*They would clean your room as long as you were not in it.
I found $15 at the bottom of the stairs and handed it in. I hope it found its rightful owner.
*The weight room was open for guests to use.
*Most front desk staff are friendly and helpful.

We do not have a basketball court on site. There are gym facilities in town that are used by locals on certain days. There is a outdoor basketball court open during summer months
