Stayed here for a night on the 29th. After reading all the reviews, i wasn't all that hopeful, but end up being pleasantly surprised. The two young girls that checked us in were super nice and got us sorted pretty quick. Our Yurt was spotless. Bathrooms were quite clean and Everyone was really quite. As for the mosquito's...yeah there was a lot of them, but with a little bug spray and after getting the fire going, they left us alone for the most part. overall, this place was better and cleaner than any of the provincial parks I've stayed at, and we'll definitely be coming back again next year.

We stayed here years ago and had a great time so decided to try again. The location is great with lovely views and a huge amount of land to walk around. It has a massive field where dogs can run off leash and really enjoy themselves plus a small pond area but we found some algae in it with no signs warning us.
Sites are a decent size, but a bit overgrown, some gentle TLC would be good. We didn't use the bathrooms so cannot comment on them.
Mosquitos were awful, on our last morning after rain, they were in my eyes, ears and I left after 2 nights camping in our travel trailer with many bites.

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that your experience at our campground was not as memorable as you'd hoped. We have been going through alot since 2020 and the campground has not gotten the attention such a beautiful place deserves. We are under new owners and new management this season and would like to invite you back for a 2 night stay on us! Do to the shortage of staff last season sites were definitely overgrown witch in turn brought more mosquitos :( If you'd like to take us up on our offer and let us show you a more memorable time please email us at info@goldencampground.ca.

One night stay in almost paradise. Situated in stunningly beautiful country, the ranch was immaculate. The grounds
Were well cared for washrooms showers absolutely clean and sanitary and with all necessary facilities for comfort and convenience. Both private wooded camp sites and open field are available.Yurtz are large airy and very comfortable. Staff friendly and accommodating. Wildlife of various kinds can often be seen meandering through the grounds. Kite flyers often landing on grounds designed to accommodate that pass time.

I'm not one for leaving bad reviews, but I was seriously unimpressed. The inside of the yurt was pretty dirty, and the bathrooms weren't cleaned all weekend. The same hair I found in the shower the first morning was there the second morning, and there wasn't any hand soap in the men's bathroom. As well, none of the women's bathroom stalls had working locks. There were lots of mosquitos, which can be par for the course when you camp in Canada in the summer, but even the bathroom was crawling with them, and the walls were dotted with squashed mosquitos. If I wanted to get eaten alive while I brushed my teeth, I would have gone backwoods camping - surely it would be easy to put some bug zappers in the bathroom! But the location was great, and there's much less railroad noise than there is at the Golden Municipal Campground. If it had been cleaner, I would have gone back again, because yurt camping is so convenient.

Hi there, I'm sorry to hear that your experience at our campground. I started at the campground in late July 2021 and there was no management in place and staff was a skeleton crew at best, I agree there was not near enough attention paid to the washhouse, we will be remedying this with a 3 times a day, strict bathroom cleaning schedule. We spent last season transitioning to new owners and new management and have a clear vision and focus to make the campground all it can be this season. We would like to invite you back for a 2 night stay on us! Do to the shortage of staff last season sites were definitely overgrown witch in turn brought more mosquitos :( However we are classified wet lands so some years/months can be worse for mosquitos then others but we will be having the area sprayed this season and have mosquito repellants items available in the office. If you'd like to take us up on our offer and let us show you a more memorable time please email us at info@goldencampground.ca.

The campground was nearly empty, bathrooms were dirty not cleaned in weeks, no staff at office. When called by phone no one answered for several hours. For $35/a night we wanted more than an empty field full of mosquitoes. Confusing web site. I'll sleep by the road before I stay here again.

We have been staying at GEAR for over 10 years. Every year it is a little more run down, but this year it was really bad.

Our bathrooms MIGHT have been cleaned once during a one week stay. Sites are over grown and have NEVER been raked out.

Garbage was over flowing for more than 4 days (There should arrange two pick ups during busy summer season)

No recycling available for bottles or cans (such a waste)

This campground is in a beautiful setting, on a ranch just outside Golden and surrounded by mountains. It is incredibly well-kept, the sites are spacious and well separated from each other. We were lucky enough to have a site overlooking the fields and mountains. There is a lovely walk across the fields, past the swimming pond (sadly the water was too low for us to swim in September) and along a trail by the river. The campground is very peaceful and the staff/management friendly and helpful. Sadly, we could only stay 1 night, but it looked like a place that people stay for a whole holiday, and we could see why. The washrooms are spotless and there is a very good laundry. We stayed in multiple campgrounds during our trip, and this one was the best. I suggest staying more than one night as it really is a magical place. Enjoy!

We stayed at the Eco Adventure park long term and was amazed at the paradise in this little valley had to offer. The staff was amazing and very helpful. The location and the views were breathtaking. We will be back year after year.
Thank you Eco Adventure Ranch. We have so many memories this summer with you!

Excellent camping facility just on the outskirts of Golden, BC. Pleasant helpful staff who went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. They also have yurts for rent and meeting facilities. Located in a beautiful meadow at the base of the Rocky Mountains.

I usually only make good reviews but today I make an exception. If I could give a zero I would. This was once a nice Campground, but the last few years it has gotten worse by far. (new management ? ? )
The staff is unfriendly and never on site. The washroom is so badly maintained that it can only be seen to comprehend. Filthy! The once private sites have all been exposed due to the trees being cut down. Overall it was disappointing and I am unable to recommend this place.

"This was set up as a hotel, but it's a campground. If you're interested in watching the paragliding and hang gliding pilots land take a site in the front row, if you're more about spending quiet time, the back two rows are set right in the trees. The whole campground always smells like fresh cut woods."
