We arrived at 4:45pm coming from Banff, Alberta. At the time Hwy#1 was closed due to construction and we had to detour through Radium Springs adding driving time. Although scenic, it was a very tiring drive. The front desk clerk was nowhere to be found. Literally! My wife searched high and low. Main floor, upstairs, outside; everywhere. while I made numerous calls. I could hear the phone ringing somewhere in a different room, but no response for more than 15 minutes before he finally answered and then came out and registered us on our reservation booking. Our door had an actual entry key and no deadbolt. That is quite 'retro' . The motel has new windows and is under renovation.
Some concerns to note. The entry door to unit 105 where we stayed the night is adjacent to the parking lot and lacked weatherstripping creating a substantial gap of 3/8 inch (4 mm) to the outdoor elements. I propped a chair under the door knob for extra security.
The cloth chair had an ugly stain. Keep in mind I feel the room was clean. The nice deep tub had no drain stopper, but Jan improvised with a garbage bag from the recycle trash bin to hold the water for her bath. After all, we are in a society of recycle and reuse. There is no coffee pot in the room, but there is complimentary coffe at the registration office.
The motel provides a beautiful view of the mountains and for our convenience patio chairs to sit outside our door and relax. It is within walking distance to Tim Hortons and Dairy Queen. Definitely an 'E' for effort and would stay here again. The price is right in off season. The comedy of errors was more amusing than irritating for us. But we are easy going. folks.

The good…very happy to see they updated the sheets to white linen. Beds felt good, and the shower was perfect. The guy at the front desk was friendly, the the prices are good for what you get. My room had a fridge, wish their website would actually mention that!

The bad…3/4 of the channels on the tv didn’t have sound. There were lots of rooms around me that were leaving their doors open hanging out together, the walls were paper thin, heard everything. Everything seemed to smell like pot, even the front desk. Bathroom could use an update.

Overall though, the hotel was worth the money, and if my first 2 choices are booked up again, I would have no problem coming back.

We just needed an overnight stay on our trip and this fit the bill. The building and rooms are definitely dated, but everything seemed clean, the bed and linens were fresh and comfortable. There was a microwave and fridge in the room. Bathroom dated but served the purpose. Water was hot and plentiful. Very thin walls but it wasn't too busy the night we were there. If you just need a place to lay your head for the night you can't go wrong here.

This is a great little Inn. The room was clean, bed was very comfortable, shower head was great, air conditioner was efficient and quiet!

Staff was friendly when we checked in.

It is a Budget style Motel with no frills. It has a mini fridge and microwave but no kettle or coffee pot. Only has shampoo/cream rinse combo and soap.

Has a large couch, a small table with two chairs, a TV and huge dresser.

For the people who complain about this place, I’d say it is great value for the money you paid. If you want perfection, go pay the $250 the other hotels are charging.

We really like this place and will Definitely Stay Here Again!!

I booked this motel for 4 days but had to cancel. After 3 phone calls, 2 of which he hung up on me and 3 emails he refused to send a cancellation notice to my e-mail. Not until I told him I cancelled my credit card did he send me anything and then he only cancelled 1 night out of my 4. Do not trust this man with your personal information.

We arrived here exhausted after a nine-hour drive. Most of Golden had unbelievably expensive motel accommodation and was full at 1900: we took the last room at Swiss Village Inn. The hotel itself is dated but clean. The room was decently sized with old tabling and a microwave/kettle. There was an ice machine out front and we sat in a rather tepid hot tub for about ten minutes before escaping.

Someone said before: not a place to linger-I would agree. It is somewhere that is on the cheaper end of the Golden motel strip that is good to dump your bags, go for some food and drink and check out early in the morning having had a reasonably good night's sleep.

After leaving another hotel at 12 in the morning because the heat did not work, we went and found a room here and loved it. Very warm and friendly staff even so early in the morning. The beds were comfortable, the heat worked, the bathroom was clean. We will definitley stay here again.

We did not like the rooms, not clean. Front desk was very accommodating, refunded our room as we were not happy. The price was good for what the rooms are. It's obviously not a 5 star hotel but I expect clean for any star hotel.

I do not know why people pay little for a hotel and then review it as though they expected a Hilton. This hotel is perfectly adequate to stay in for a couple of nights. It is clean and well kept. There are not many extras but then I didn't pay $200 a night to stay here. I am in transit need a place to sleep and the Swiss Village is exactly that. There is a sauna and whirlpool but I did not partake so I cannot comment.
The owner, front desk lady is extremely nice and did point me to a restaurant that again is not 5 star but the staff are very friendly and the food good.
As mentioned by one reviewer there is no coffee in the room but it is available in the lobby.
Others mention that door access is with real keys, I don't have a problem with that but if you require a card key to make your stay worthwhile I guess this hotel is not for you.
I would stay here again without hesitation

If you're just looking for an affordable place to lay your head on a ski/biking/rafting weekend, Swiss Village offers comfortable and clean accommodation at a reasonable price. It's nothing fancy, but you're not paying for anything fancy either. It's conveniently located off the highway and on the back road into town, meaning you don't have to get back onto the highway to go to the village or up to Kicking Horse.
