Once again, our family and extended family spent 4 nights at the Home Lodge over New Years. There is not much else that needs to be said about this place, except AWESOME. The house is beautifully furnished. There are 5 bedrooms each with having their own private washroom (4 bedrooms up, 1 bedroom down). There is also a shared bathroom on the main floor. A GREAT feature to Home Lodge is the mud room. It’s huge and there is lots of room to dry out and store wet equipment after a day outside. A washer and dryer is also available in the mud room. Having its own door means the house won't fill with nasty odours as well. You'll also find your hot tub towels ready in there. The house has an 8 person hot tub great for relaxing after an exhilarating day outside. It has a quiet well stocked library if that is more your style.

The large living room is a great place to hang out with family or new friends. The view is spectacular with the floor to ceiling windows and the wood burning fire place keeps everything warm. There is always an ample supply of split and dry firewood out back that is easily accessible.

I do not easily recommend places to stay, however, this is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life for a while and it is literally at the end of the road. In addition, there deer wandering around the property most of the day. They have become accustomed to humans at the lodge and will approach people without fear.

The most exciting thing personally this year was the ability to finally feed Annie. Have tried on previous occasions with no success, but she loves carrots.

I do not easily recommend places to stay, however, this is a great place to get away from the hustle and bustle of life for a while and it is literally at the end of the road.

Annie is still here, not quite as often - I think she must be preparing for the Spring move. Wish her another year of luck in the backcountry and fingers crossed we'll see her and your lovely family again at the end of 2024! Thanks for your company, Lynn

We spent three nights at Home Lodge and our very high expectations, given the outstanding reviews, were totally exceeded. There is not a lot more that can said that others have not written or can be captured in words - you just need to go and experience it for yourself and you will not be disappointed. The space in the house given over to guests is huge with beautiful furnishings to relax upon whilst enjoying the warmth of the fire. Fabulous breakfasts, super comfortable bedrooms, and as for Lynn - Scotland should be very proud of you! A wonderful, welcoming and oh so helpful host for whom nothing is too much trouble. An absolutely fabulous place and like so many other reviewers we wish we could have stayed longer and hope it will be possible to return. Thank you so much Lynn and SIgi for creating such a wonderful place to stay.

Ahhh, thank you so much for your lovely words, they are sincerely and very much appreciated. We are so pleased you had a great stay. I know it's a long way to come and there are so many other countries in the world to visit, but we hope you can visit again sometime. We've had lots of great skiing this winter and gradually as the days get longer and warmer we feel Spring is coming. I'm itching to get into the garden. Hope you have a wonderful trip wherever to go this year. Kindest regards, Lynn

Sadly our itinerary only allowed 2 nights here which was not long enough! It really is a superb place to stay, our room (room 1) had amazing views towards the mountains, the bed was so comfy and the bathroom with underfloor heating a joy. Lynn was the perfect host and such a lovely lady with a great sense of humour, I felt like I’d made a lifelong friend in just the short time we were there. Breakfast was awesome (especially the home made muffins on our second day) and the atmosphere both at breakfast and in the evenings when you can join in with chat with fellow guests (and wine if required) was very special. A wonderful place and we really hope we see you again Lynn and Sigi 😄🤞

Lynn’s vision is to create luxury home from home accommodation through tastefully decorated, well appointed en suite bedrooms within a discrete part of her house. Guests have use of a kitchen, sitting room and garden. Being mid trip, Lynn even did our washing for us. Lynn cooks wonderful breakfasts and provides bag meals when her guests’ schedules fall outside of meal times. Lovely property and delightful, welcoming, talented host. If you have an interest in animals her Highlands are impressive… but not as good as my South Devon’s!

Haha, I see. your South Devon's and raise you some.... mule deer! Sorry it's only now I'm seeing that you posted this review last year following your stay - don't know how I missed these end of summer ones!! Thanks for coming, I appreciate your taking the time to write and hope the herd are well (it's a Fold of Highland cows, is it a herd for South Devons?). Lynn

Home Lodge was such an awesome place to stay.
Lynn is a fantastic host very friendly and welcoming with a great sense of humour.

The lodge itself is very comfortable, well maintained with amazing views of the surrounding mountains.

This was a perfect location to spend a few days although we would have liked to have stayed a lot longer. So much better than a hotel, we can’t recommend it enough.

Thank you Lynn.

Beautiful lodge hosted by a lovely couple, Lynn and Sigi, and minutes from Kicking Horse and CMH Purcell. Lynn and Sigi made us feel like old friends and treated us to a hearty breakfast to start each day. After skiing we were welcomed back by their herd of highland long-hairs (followed by a delicious home cooked dinner). The lodge is fully stocked with books, games, movies, a hot tub, and comfortable beds with private bathrooms. Would love to come back again!

Hello there and thank you so much for the lovely review! I'm so pleased that the snow gods were kind for your stay too. It was my pleasure to have your group to stay and we'd love to have you visit again - perhaps some biking or hiking in summer followed by more extreme cow-watching :-). Lynn

We stayed for 3 nights at the end of our trip around the Rockies and what a place to finish. A stunning B&B set amongst the mountains, utter peace and quiet and I really didn't want to leave. Lynne was so warm and welcoming and full of great ideas and tips; we took her recommendation to go to the local Buffalo farm which was fascinating. Great breakfasts too and the ability to make cups of tea whenever we wanted (sorely missed in many other places we stayed). I can't recommend this wonderful B&B highly enough.

We had the privilege of staying here for two nights and can honestly say we've never stayed anywhere nicer or with such an amazing host as Lynn. The house is beautiful, in a very quiet area surrounded by fields complete with highland cows and a great view of the mountains. It isn't just bed and breakfast as there is use of a huge sitting area and use of the fridge and coffee machine in the kitchen. Our bathroom had underfloor heating and a massive walk in shower as well as a shower over the bath. The breakfasts were brilliant, really setting us up for the day and Lynn had a vast amount of knowledge on things to do, places to go and places to eat. I just wish we lived nearer!

A very beautiful room in a very cosy Lodge. There were very friendly other guests and Lynn, the owner, did the utmost to create a great atmosphere.
And what a breakfasts she made!
We can highly recommend this lodge situated a couple of miles from Golden with its Scottish Highlanders and the Scottish hospitality of our hostess!
