This was my first visit to any back country lodge. As a rookie, the staff and other guests were very helpful with practical tips and instruction. All aspects of the lodge related activities are very well organized, so adjustments for guest preferences and abilities are easily accommodated. Although Mistaya Lodge is considered mostly for seasonal hiking and skiing - do... More

We have stayed at many back-country lodges in the past 35 years and this is one of the best. The hiking is varied, from easy to challenging. The guides were amazing and seemed to know how to satisfy everyone's capabilities. Free wi-fi is available but only for email use. There is no cell phone service. This is a back-country lodge... I have been to a number of back country lodges and this is by far my favorite. There is terrain to suit all. When I go we do not use the guide service and there is plenty of space that is low hazard and easily accessible. This time I took my wife, her first time in the back country and... More

I can not say thank you enough for all the kind words! David and I as well as the staff love to meet everyone and it is our goal to make everyone's vacation one to remember. As far as the silky snow we are just blessed to be located in the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains!! See you next year!! More

We spent a week at Mistaya with a group of 10 friends back country skiing. Our group was self catered/guided so can't comment on the food nor guiding. However, Dave (owner/guide) was there to assist us. The lodge itself is well maintained with comfortable beds, AC power for charging batteries, hot and cold running water and indoor toilet facilities (composting)... More

I was part of a group that stayed three nights at Mistaya and my comments echo those of previous reviews: beautiful scenery and excellent hiking; meals were top notch thanks to the efforts of our extraordinary fabulous cook Val; rooms were various configurations ranging from two to three - all very comfortable. As mentioned before there is hot and cold... More

Fabulous place, Mistaya Lodge. As a full disclosure, I must say that the weather during my husband’s and my stay was PERFECT, so our experiences were particularly rosy. But in any case, this is a gem of a backcountry lodge - well-run and in a gorgeous spot. I can’t speak to a winter visit, but in summer this place is... More

Mistaya Lodge is more than a back country ski lodge. It offers great hiking too! Lots of variety, great alpine flowers, sweeping vistas, it has it all. Hosts are so warm and knowledgeable that it was also a great learning experience. Highly recommended.

Just finished an Excellent Family ski week in Mistaya (March 2015). Snow and weather were as expected variable but with the excellent guiding we still had great skiing. The lodge is like none I have experienced in a ski touring capacity with running hot and cold water, indoor toilets and Hot showers available plus the sauna, then adding the excellent... More

If you're looking for an amazing ski touring lodge in the middle of the majestic Canadian Rockies look no further. I stayed at Mistaya Lodge in February 2014 and it was hands down one of the most fun ski trips I've ever had. Set in a pristine valley, the lodge was right out of a picture book and offered just... Mistaya Lodge is first class, the operation is first class, the owners and staff are fantastic. Dave, the live in guide and owner is a perfect host.
