A group of 12 of us just spent 4 remarkable days at Mistaya Lodge. We hiked with a private guide with the exception of one day where The owner Dave took part of our group on a separate hike. The lodge was exceptional…the food was incredible and plentiful. You packed your own lunch each day with lots of homemade treats to take with you for keeping you going on the trail. All the hikes we did were different and each had there own special moments. The lodge is spotless and had the added bonus of hot showers, a sauna and toilets inside. Dave was extremely knowledgeable and a pleasure to talk too. From the warm welcome by Cindy at the helipad to waving goodbye to Daveand is staff we had a wonderful time. I would highly recommend Mistaya Lodge for your next hiking adventure.

I spent a week of guided ski touring at Mistaya during Feb 2020. I have visited more than 6 other ski touring lodges in the past. The accommodations, service, guiding, food and terrain could not be faulted. I strongly recommend this lodge to others that ski tour.

What a place to visit. It feels like home for my soul. Dave, Cindy, Sandra and everyone else do great work to ensure a fabulous stay. The terrain is gorgeous and can provide a challenge, but Dave and Sandra know how to tailor a hike so that even less adventurous folks can enjoy the day on the trails. It really does not matter which trails they take, as they are all drop-dead gorgeous. Food is also excellent, and the beds comfortable and warm. Toilets inside the lodge, and hot water at the tap make it feel even more comfortable. There’s a hot sauna and warm showers as well. It’s just a great experience. We have been to many backcountry lodges, and Mistaya stands at the top for us.

I was there with a group of 14 senior hikers (55+) from Calgary so we had the whole lodge. We were lucky as the weather was perfect for our 4 nights with a couple of rain showers happening twice overnight and sunny weather, blue skies for our hiking. The guides, Dave and Sandra were excellent and took their time with our 2 groups so that everyone had an enjoyable time. Over the 4 days, I managed 50 km and over 3000 m elevation gain. The food was first class and there was plenty of it. They catered to 1 vegan and 2 people with allergies. Dinners were chicken breast, lamb stew, pork tenderloin and BBQ beef tenderloin. For breakfast, there was both cold cereals, porridge and fruit to start followed with egg dishes and we made our own trail lunches. I can definitely recommend Mistaya Lodge. The tripadvisor questions below don't reflect this back country lodge and most aren't relevant.…

There are no words to describe our 4 days at Mistaya Lodge. I am not a seasoned hiker but was there with seasoned hikers and the guides were fantastic. They set a pace that everyone in the group could handle. Each day we headed out to explore another area of the back country. The views were breath taking, just WOW! The food was fabulous, I have food allergies and they were accommodated seamlessly. The accommodations were basic but there was everything you needed. I loved the fact that we were the only ones there, because you get helicoptered in there are no other people anywhere near you. It is like your own private mountain paradise. The area is pristine, we hiked to the toe of 4 glaciers, hiked to 4 lakes and so many other beautiful sites. It was my first time in a helicopter and that was also a wonderful experience! The company they use explained everything in detail before we boarded and I felt so safe as we flew above the Rocky Mountains. It was all just WOW!…

I was very impressed with everything about Mistaya Lodge - the food was excellent, the lodge is very clean and comfortable, and the outdoor experience is unparalleled. Fantastic hiking trails, great guiding, a lovely alpine lake that is perfect for a nice cool dip after a day in the mountains, and a wonderful sauna/shower experience to ease those tired muscles. The abundant flora and fauna add to the delight! Kudos to Dave (the owner) and his great staff for making our backcountry hiking experience the trip of a lifetime!

Mistaya Lodge is in a gorgeous basin surrounded by high peaks overlooking an emerald lake. The lodge offered a comfortable relaxing stay for the 10 in our group plus 2 additional guests whose company we welcomed. We shared rooms-2 to 3 per room, but each had our own bed, warm showers, sauna, and absolutely top shelf delicious food and plenty of it. Each day we were guided on a dramatic and challenging hike with less strenuous options as well. It was a heavenly 5 days.

I was there with a group of hikers, on a lousy weather weekend, but what an amazing place surrounded by glaciers! The helicopter ride (my first ever) was an experience, and the food was top-notch. The guides found trails that suited the weather and our fitness levels. I especially liked the hike that let us touch 3 glaciers in same day. Facilities better than you would expect - even 2 toilets on same floor as bedrooms. The hook-up for showers was definitely original. I want to go back again next year!
