Great hotel. Service is great. Quick check in. Our rooms are modern and clean. Bed is comfortable. Complimentary Breakfast is great. Nothing much in Golden but a great stop on our journey between Banff and Vancouver.

We stayed in a room with extra space which includes a small kitchen with microwave and sink, plus a sitting area. It was nice to spread out with the family and perfect if you have kids. I want to give this hotel 5 stars, but the room had a smoking smell. It is a non-smoking hotel, go figure what is happening there! The included breakfast is poor with pre packaged food that is heated up. If you're looking for anything better than cereals, go into town and look for a better place. The vending machines on each floor do not work. There is a small store in the reception area selling canned drinks and snacks. The canned drinks sell for more than what the vending machine would if they worked. Staff do not wear uniforms, both front desk staff and housekeeping, so it's hard to know who works there and who is a guest. Rooms do not get daily housekeeping if you are staying more than one night. I have no idea why and no one could explain it.
I want to touch on the positioning of this hotel, which is not a deal-breaker, but you should know about it before making a booking decision. The hotel sits on the corner of 14th St N and Hwy 1 Frontage Rd, so there is passing traffic noise. Opposite the hotel entrance is scrubland which trucks are using to park overnight, so you get idling engines all night if your room faces front.

The checking in / out was easy. There are signs requesting everyone wears a mask but staff is not enforcing. The room was a good size we booked a suite. It had 2 queen beds and a pull out. There is a fridge, microwave and a small sink.

Negative- the room is sprayed with a strong perfume, my eyes watered and I had trouble breathing. The front staff brought up a fan and I opened a window. I also had to take allergy medicine. I could not leave everything was booked in Golden. I would never stay here again. The hotel should offer scent free rooms

Stay two nights both times the front desk was friendly and fast at getting ours (2 different rooms) . The rooms are typical of what to expect at a hotel. Found the housekeeping did well at first sight and closer look at closet window etc it was Bed is medium soft so we didn't mind. And the pillows case had stitched in ( soft hard ) nice touch

Though both rooms we felt it was a bit colder, even though we spent a few minutes trying to figure out how to get the furnace to blow warm air. After at least 10 minutes in both rooms we gave up.

First night we went into the hot tub and pool area ( hot tub wasn't extremely hot 40 c more like 30, no way to adjust the temperature and the jets were not that powerful). But still nice enough to soak in. The pool was nice though .

The breakfast Continental was extreme there was ( pancake, omelette, sausage, potatoes, cold cereal, oatmeal, toast, bagels, yogurt, juice's coffee teas, cinnamon buns fruit hard boiled cold eggs ) wow !!

Our family enjoyed a comfortable stay at this hotel. Beds were comfortable, room was clean, breakfast was okay. It was very quiet, we never heard noise from adjacent rooms, hallways, or upstairs.

The pool filters needed to be replaced so the pool was not available during our stay.

There was one electric charging station but it was often being used so we ended up using the nearby Tesla chargers instead.

Convenient location because it is near Highway 1.

Our king sized bed room was enormous with lots of unused space, a comfortable armchair, fridge, microwave and safe. The bathroom came with individual Dove toiletries and a shower over bath. We stayed for two nights and were very dissapointed with the breakfast. Arriving around 9am on a weekend the only bakery was a few slices of bread and the only fruit were apples. Searting was also very limted. The pancake machine was however one plus. For dinner we crossed the main road to The Bear and Bone restaurant for an excellent meal.
The laundry room was most welcome as was the indoor pool for a quick swim.

We have always stayed in holiday inns with our family and never been disappointed. However, this place, post Covid, made me think over wise. They used disposable plates, cutlery and cups in their dining area. No one seem to understand how to use the juice machine and no one was there to help. But worst of all, the pool looked like it wasn’t maintained. It was murky and barely used by guests. There was a stain on the carpet next to our bed and the kitchen staff didn’t look happy. I would never recommend staying here.

A granola bar, small yogurt, a juice box and a banana do not equate to breakfast, especially when the standard offer includes a buffet of eggs and other breakfast items. This is called cheaping out and using Covid as an excuse. I have stayed in other hotels that offer a free breakfast and during Covid include a breakfast sandwich that can be heated up in a microwave. It’s simple and safe but costs more than the $1 max they are spending at this hotel.

The room was nice and quite large and the bedding was of noticeably good quality. Hot tub was also large and was deserted until mid afternoon. Some of the hand sanitizer stations were out of batteries and not working but they fixed this when noted. It’s a decent hotel with good facilities....just sadly does not offer a practical breakfast so this is disappointing.

I have stayed at this hotel many times especially if travelling to Calgary or Edmonton. In this case it was business and so was alone. Always courtious even with all the Covid crap going on. Great room with great ammenities. Always comfortable. Normally a continental breakfast is included but the food is shut down for now. However they have a grab bag for breakfast, juice, yogurt and fruit so that was nice. Normally lots of restarants close buy anyway. Great bathroom facilities as usual, I hate tiny toilets and they have what I consider to be more appropriate units. It was very quiet to say the least but I just needed a shower and a rest before carrying on. Great as always!

Hi, I stayed at this hotel and found that the staff were extremely rude- both the front desk staff member I had the displeasure of dealing with at the time, in addition to the management I spoke with afterwards about the issue. When I contacted the the head office through Facebook to complain and discuss the issue (being charged for a room that was unfit to sleep in), I was informed that there was nothing that they could do because each Holiday Inn location is operated independently, so it sounds as though each location sort of makes its own rules....not sure if that helps.
