We were on our way to the Yukon and were not able to make our pre-reserved lodging destination due to unforeseen circumstances. We were travelling with a dog and needed a place to stay for the night. We searched on the Internet and found a few pet friendly hotels/motels in town. We touched the phone number associated with the hotel online and were faced with a no vacancy reply from the front desk agent (who we thought was associated with the hotel). The front desk asked if he could help us to secure a hotel in town. Thought that was a nice gesture. Little did we know we were talking to a travel company. We secured a room at the Coast Hotel and had to pay (no refunds) on the phone. Glad to have a room we proceeded to the hotel. The hotel did NOT have a room. The hotel front desk lady and the manager went way out of their way to find lodging for us in town. In the end they gave us a room at the hotel(which was just starting to get renovated). We were very appreciative because we were tired and needed a place to stay for the night. The hotel manager, Mr. Chandan Sehgal, and the front desk lady were really great. I can't express enough the gratitude we felt to be able to get a room on short notice. Beware of hitting the "call phone number online". This will get you a travel agency who charge additional fees to your bill(double). The hotel should have received the total amount for the effort they went through to get us a room there. Please call the hotel number "directly from your phone" so you don't have to go through what we went through. Bravo to the staff at the Coast Hotel in St. John, B.C. from us.…
Excellent place to enjoy with family and friends , must visit , one of the best experiences till date , planned to to stay a day but stayed 5 days . Beds are really comfortable and the breakfast is really healthy! Gave more than expected! Thank you for the stay coast hotels . Will visit again next month !
Very comfortable hotel downtown FSJ. Friendly staff, helpful. Both exterior entrances could use an improvement. Breakfast was hot and good. Could use a little variety for those persons staying more than two days. Some fruit would be nice.
Spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. Staff is very accommodating and pleasant will definitely stay here again. Manager on site is very nice approved late checkout without any charges. Thank you so much.
We've stayed here twice on our way to PG, and I'm constantly impressed at how clean & nice it is. The service is great too, the front desk and housekeeping staff are all super friendly & nice. Give it a try!
Considering the hotel was under renovations the staff have do a great job of minimizing the impact. The rooms were comfortable, clean and well appointed. The common areas were being renovated so it was understandable that there was some disarray.
My sister, mother and I recently stayed at this hotel for almost a week after getting into a car accident in a nearby town that left us staying longer than anticipated. I will also make a point of adding my mother required accessibility as she uses a wheelchair. The staff – like literally ALL of them – were amazing. The hotel was clean (and trust me – this is a major thing for me!!), is fairly central to many things in walking or short driving distance, and the hotel entrance and room itself were very accommodating to our needs (this hotel appeared to be the ONLY one in St. John that had accessible rooms with TWO beds!). But most importantly, in my opinion, as a group of three women in an unknown city, we all felt safe there. Thank you to the staff at Lakeview Inn & Suites in Fort St. John for such a comforting experience!…
The hotel is kind of dated. It took a long time to check in. The parking lot definitely needs some upgrade. A place to stay overnight on our way to Alaska. The restaurant across the street has pretty good food and choices.
FIrst impression of the building was: Oh no, what did my wife book... But after a very nice welcome it felt much better. The room was clean, the breakfast was very good (especially for that price) and the best: You get free admission to the fitness club across the street which opens really early so you have no excuse even if you have or had a long drive :)
The hotel is out of date. They don't have enough parking. The air conditioning is very loud only to be out done by the water pipes that make an incredible racket. After being in my room for 7 days I asked housekeeping to clean my room. They have a card on the pillow program. i put the card in the drawer and still did not have my sheets changed, after a week. My floor was not vacuumed and I was not left any Kleenex which was empty. The clientele in this neighborhood is not the best. In fact on the front door is a sign instructing the ATM a d vending machine is for guests only. Coming in the front door I was met every single day by men standing on the front steps leering. I was very uncomfortable at this hotel
