I guess we should have known when we drove up to the villa and right away we knew the place needed some upkeep, it didn’t look good, but we had hope the inside would be different. When we entered the first thing I noticed was the table was filthy, I thought ok, they missed the table, no big deal, then we opened the fridge to put our items in and it was so gross I hesitated, thankful the cleaner was there and I asked her if she would clean it, so she cleaned the shelves, but trust me, it needed more than a quick cleaning. The next day we opened the microwave to use it and couldn’t, it was so gross and so dirty, we just shut the door. It’s too bad this happens because are positive aspects about this place, but for us, the place being so dirty in the kitchen overshadowed anything good, and we won’t be staying there again, or recommending it!

So this is a massive house that you rent a room in. It can be found on the usual booking sites in the hotel section although it is clearly not what most people would consider a hotel.
After we booked we received an email with a CODE for the front door and the wifi password and the information that this is not a hotel. They put in the bit about the 'not being a hotel' bit because at least on booking.com it clearly is advertised as a hotel.
We found: - the house to be huge. Like seriously a very large house. It might be worth staying just to check out the house. - the beds to be small but the linen to be excellent - the internet to work well - the place was reasonably quiet
We also found: - the location to require a car. It is sort of rural and surrounded by farms although a mall and walmart are around 2km away. Check that the location is good for you. We drove up from the south and found it to be convenient. - we share the bathroom. You have to leave your room and go to the bathroom. - the decor is that of a modern house but things like the carpet (not commercial grade) starting to get shabby. The yard and the like were neat but starting to show signs of needing maintenance - that although the house is large the room was average size.
In sum: the house is what we call a MacMansion in an odd place. The homeowners made zero attempt to even remotely be friendly. IMHO they really shouldnt be in the airbnb game. This is a bed and breakfast after all. Personally I found it a little creepy being in a house where the owners clearly didnt want you there.

Muchen Villa is listed as AirBnB The best description for this villa would be a hostel The caretaker and family live there and use the common kitchen. I did not explore the fridge or cupboards or attempt to cook meals there after realizing this. The first impression of the villa put me off anyways. The gardens were overgrown, a spincycle was on the front step being repaired as was various other objects that would be found at a personal residence were appearances don't matter. I needed the flashlight on my phone to enter the passcode because the pad is not lit and there was not any lighting on the exterior entrance at night. My bathroom was not attached to the bedroom, which I did understand when registering, but due to its location to the common room, it was used by others. My bathmat was not replaced the first use and I don't know if anyone used the shower after me. There were not spare towels in the bathroom in case I had forgot to carry mine into the washroom. My room was not as pictured in the photos. The bed is different and had a broken post. The room was heated by a noisy ceramic heater. The patio doors entered out to a junk pile. The baseboards were dusty, cobwebs hung everywhere from the ceiling and there was a spill down the front of the nightstand that hadn't been cleaned yet The TV is at the control of whoever has the remote first and could be heard from my bedroom Sounds echoed and conversations carried The flushing of toilets and showers above me were also noisy

Muchen Villa was spotlessly clean, inviting and enjoyable. Ted, the Manager was amazing in maintaining the place, providing good clean bedrooms with ample soft bedding as well as clean shared bathrooms and common spaces. The patio space was a bonus for socializing with other fellow residents. This is my second visit to Muchen House and I look forward to returning in the future

My husband and I so enjoyed are stay at Muchen Villa. The location was perfect. It was located close to everywhere we wanted to go. Our room was clean and comfortable. The main communal areas and kitchen were clean and spacious. Ted was an awesome host....helpful, engaging, and very friendly. The price was right, too. We know we'll make a point of staying there again when we next have to travel to the area. Thank you, Ted, for making our stay such an enjoyable one!

Muchen Villa was an experience! $75.00 (room) +$20.00 (Cleaning Fee). + $11.25 = $115.25 A hotel might be better for the cost of this room.
Good things- it is very close to the Ferry. - very nice looking when you enter - beautiful fireplace with 4 sides to put the fir on - kitchen is very big
Why are they collecting a $29.00 cleaning fee?? Kitchen was a mess, tables with crumbs still there from another seating Sink in Kitchen- full of rice and other gunk Fridge and Stove- doors were dirty and unit itself was filthy, food in it was pretty grouse looking and not properly covered. #6 Bedroom- to look at it was lovely, until you are looking for a plug. Cobwebs greeted us, and dust balls under the bed. Also I the corner of the closet was something on the rug, I do not even want to imagine what it was. Bathroom- you share it with others If you do not have food with you, you have to go back to eating places or not eat. A couple we met at the door were from England and were dropped at the door, did not know they had to look on phone for directions. They expected a hostess to show them around, not so. We let them in and they had to taxi back to eat. Were not really impressed.

The most terrible place I’ve ever been!!! When we booked it was “2 queens one bath”…. NO!!! The bathroom was shared between many different rooms!! It was not only dirty, but they had duct tape to fix everything?!!! After noticing that the room itself was disgusting, as well as every other aspect of this place, my 12 year old son said to me “I don’t feel comfortable staying here”!! We opted to stay in the car for the night but the manager told us he would give us a different room. It was like night and day but the new room was still gross. Dust everywhere, frayed bath mat, 1/8 of a roll of toilet paper!! When we ran out I figured that there would be some stored under the sink but all I found was 7 used bars of soap, a dirty toothbrush and (believe it or not) chopsticks?!!!! Wow is all I have to say about this place!! Need pics?!!! I have them all!!! I didn’t even shower there because I felt like I’d get dirtier than anything!
