My sister and I recently stayed at the Above Tide Motel and it was excellent. Lana was fabulous and very helpful. The view from our apartment was amazing and spotlessly clean. It was a good 10 minutes walk from the wharf area if you don't have a car. I would certainly recommend this. Thanks Lana!

What a find! Great little motel, we were lucky enough to get a garden room at the back so we had no road noise. The most fantastic view over Discovery Passage, we just missed orcas as we arrived but we saw seals and porpoises from our room. We even had a deer pass casually through the garden as we were having morning coffee out there! Check in was quick and easy, lady in the office a delight to speak with. Our room was spotless, bed very comfortable and kitchen well equipped. Our only gripe about anything was that the air conditioning was so noisy! We would love to stay again.

Well refurbished and detailed rooms with maximal frontage of discovery passage. If you’re a ship watcher this is the place. Easy walking access to museum and town. Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and meticulous grounds. Upstairs rooms optimal!

We were near the end of our British Columbia vacation when we came to Campbell River. The motel is at the edge of the water and offers wonderful views! The rooms are very clean but not large. However, the owners are obviously upgrading the facility and it shows (the new furnishings are very smart). The young woman at the front desk was pleasant and gave us suggestions on what to do, where to eat, etc. We can recommend this motel to anyone who appreciates good value.

This was a one night stay on a drive from Port Hardy to Victoria. I wasn't expecting great things but the welcome was very warm, genuine and friendly and while dated, the apartment was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The view from the window of the sea and ships passing was great and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We asked for a ground-floor room and got a basement which is down a flight of steps or around the back. At least the staff helped to carry our luggage. The wood floor is new and the bathroom seems renovated. Our room was tight and there's no closet. We saw cruise ships passing in the middle of the night.

Yes this hotel is old and may be stuck in the 90's but just know that it is very clean (cleaner than $500/my hotel I have stayed in) the views are spectacular. The lesser rates to stay here and the cleanliness make it a good place to stay. If 90s decor and cinder block walls are too much for you go elsewhere but good luck getting this view at other hotels.

A low end older motel whose only plus is a seaside view. The downside is rates are the same as the luxury hotels but has no A/C so you have to open groung level windows with no security locks which is a safety risk. The noise of the highway 50 feet away made for a terrible sleep and I woke up tired and unrested. And there were odd rule signs everywhere such as; "no shoes beyond this point" taped to the budget laminate flooring upon entering the suite.

This is a great value choice motel with fabulous views from the upper floor rooms We saw dolphins, seals and eagles from the room (take some binoculars) The motel is a bit tired, needs some modernising, but it is clean and comfortable and great value with 2 bedrooms and a well equipped kitchenette Parking is easy (ignore the reviews that say it’s difficult unless you have a massive truck) Walking distance to the pier and city shops and restaurants in about 10-15 mins Overall, a decent choice and we’d stay here again

I stayed here for 1 night, and it wasn't long enough! Upon arrival it looks a bit rough but the views, cleanliness and exceptional service made up for it. I am extremely picky when it comes to cleanliness and there honestly was not a thing in my room to fuss about. Its about a 20 min walk to restaurants, but again the views on the walk are pretty nice as well. The owner was very pleasant and accommodating as I had some issues on my end when booking. They were also very helpful when I needed info about the city. I will stay here again and I definitely would recommend this place as well.
