May 2021 - Stayed in room 22 which was at ground level & we were able to park right in front of the unit which was convenient. Myself, son & his wife shared the 1 bdrm unit with a queen bed in the bdrm and a second queen bed in the main living area. Room was stifling hot when we entered (heated by a central furnace (not electric baseboard so no control over heat). It was a lovely warm day so the furnace shouldn't have been on. No air conditioning but had a couple of fans available. First time I've stayed in a room with red & white striped tape across the floor so you didn't wear your shoes past the tape into the unit. Floors were vinyl plank or laminate so easy to sweep up. Check in was fast and efficient & done from outside the office. Only given one room key (not offered a 2nd one). The view from the room was lovely with a deck, small table & 3 chairs. The floor of the deck could have been swept/vacuumed and the furniture wiped down (not dirty but definitely dusty). The kitchen was fairly well stocked, except for the salt shaker. There was a small hardened bit at the bottom which was unusable. Wifi was available but no cable TV. They had a smart TV so would have to use your own password (if you have Netflix, etc.) which I didn't have. Room had been booked in advance with 3 adults but they only had 2 sets of towels in the unit. Cleanliness seemed okay but don't think I'd stay there on my next visit. We visited Myra Falls, Lupin Falls & Elk Falls and would highly recommend all of them. Lots to see and do around Campbell River.

We booked it on a last minute whim to take a short trip. The reviews and pictures looked good online. We had room 25, kitchen quite with 2 queen beds, which was right by the parking lot. It was so convenient to park and bring everything from the car. The parking lot is narrow though, so be careful when you enter and exit from the road.

It was very clean, with no dust even on bathroom window sill! I was impressed.

Although it had a weird layout for a 2 bedroom unit, with a small enclosed bedroom, and the other being in the main area, like a studio apartment.

It was very hot, no air conditioning, but you can leave the patio door open if you want. No bathroom fan, only a window facing the parking lot and walkway, so people can see in if you leave it open. It has a full kitchen with small appliances, cooktop, toaster oven, microwave, fridge and freezer, cutlery, dishes, pots and pans. Great when you have kids or allergies, so you can buy groceries and cook there.

It was farther from downtown than I thought, but close to the Japanese Gate.

It's a short walk to beach down a blocked pathway.

Great view from the room though, and very quiet.

I saw picnic tables and chairs for the ground floor apartments below us. The motel is on sloped property, so those rooms below us were down the stairs from the parking lot.

Very friendly staff, Danio was great on the phone when I booked, and in person. Plexi glass and hand sanitizer available. Contactless payment.

Our family of four stayed here during a quick visit to the area. The Motel is older but very well maintained. When you open the door to your room all you see is Ocean. It was breathtaking to see along with a view of Quadra Island. The room was clean and beds were super comfortable. The small kitchenette was great to have for a quick breakfast or late night snack. The rooms were not air conditioned and during the recent heat wave would have been welcome relief...but they did have a couple fans in the room and when we left the patio door open we got a nice breeze off the ocean which helped to cool things off. Definitely the best place to stay with a view.

The place itself is not quite like the pictures, it appears the outdoor spaces needed some upkeep. There was a nice view from our balcony and that was about all I’d say. The space was modest and nothing special, but did the job for a one night stopover. The thing that concerns me is that my card was charged before we arrived, when my booking was a “book now, pay later”. Additionally, when I reserved the property, I know it was listed at about 75$ cheaper then what I was charged, but when I went back to look at the booking, the price had changed on my booking site for what I had owed, but the current listing for the property was the price I originally reserved at, which was almost half the cost I was charged. Since my card was already charged and I had no proof of the original booking listed price, I let it slide. I travel a lot and book with the same engine and this has never happened to me before and will be contacting them. I definitely wouldn’t have booked this place at the rate I was charged considering the state of the property, when I initially thought it to be nothing more than a good deal. I’d advise to book elsewhere due to my concerns on the practices around billing/charging.

Thank you for your review. I am telling you that all pictures in my website and booking.com site are original pictures by my cell phone camera. I didn't edit the pictures with any APP. Booking.com and Expedia asked me to edit for better quality but I did not do it. You might confuse with other property. For 15 years we have never had $75 room rate. In order to avoid any payment issue, please book direct to the motel. Booking.com and Expedia has some tricks on their site like a C$ or US$. And my motel policy tells you that we charge the room rate on your credit card 2 days before your arrival date. Every motel has different policies. So If you book a room before 2 days of your arrival date. You might see "book now Pay later" This "Pay later" means that is not what you pay when you arrive. The times of payment are depends on the policies of each motel. So you don't pay when you make a booking. But when you make a booking inside of the cancellation policy window, they will charge it on your credit card instantly . Please trust the owner of small sized motel. They do not take any advantages form the customer payment. And before you complaining, you'd better talk to the owner about your issue. They will solve the problems. Your review from your misunderstood can kill a small business. Please consider we are living together on the Earth. We are all limited human being. we can't even see a coin100% same time. Anyhow sorry for your uncomfortable staying with us.

A low end older motel whose only plus is a seaside view. The downside is rates are the same as the luxury hotels but has no A/C so you have to open groung level windows with no security locks which is a safety risk. The noise of the highway 50 feet away made for a terrible sleep and I woke up tired and unrested. And there were odd rule signs everywhere such as; "no shoes beyond this point" taped to the budget laminate flooring upon entering the suite.

Interestingly the review I posted on Expedia was “ edited”. Let’s see if this one is...
Very mediocre hotel compared to those of a similar price in Campbell river.
Shower didn’t work, actually could potentially scald someone. Did inform the owners, still waiting for a response.
Our room was situated next to the smoking area, not very pleasant as we had to keep the windows open as there is no A/C. Rooms on the north side should be less impacted by smokers, if you are sensitive to second hand smoke. We did have a fan in our room which helped a bit.
Rooms are dated ...why are hotels using microfibre sheets, just horrible especially in hot weather.
It does look like they are trying to update rooms slowly.
Extremely tight parking at the front of the hotel, Ford F-150 almost didn’t make it!
Yes it has a view but so do all the hotels in the area.
I question some of the reviews on Expedia for sure, no way is there any 5 star component to this motel. 3 max.

Hello, my family had to go to Campbell River for a funeral/memorial. The owner went well out of his way to ensure we were taken care of. I have stayed at many (usually 20+ different hotels per year) hotels and motels and hardly ever experienced a hotel owner chasing me down to give me a $1.00 over-payment I made. he even hand delivered a complimentary water.

Even though a budget motel, the view surpasses that of any 5-star hotel I have stayed at. Stunning. The motel is literally barely 'ABOVE THE TIDE.'

I was very happy with our stay and will stay there again. Mostly because my parents have always liked that motel but the owner's integrity has a lot to do with where I will spend my money when i go to CR.

It’s a motel with free parking, the people that run it were so helpful, our room was clean, the bed was comfortable and it had everything we needed, a table and chairs, TV, fridge, microwave, a kettle and toiletries, as our room was basic we borrowed plates, bowls and cutlery from reception at no extra charge, all this and a beautiful view across to Quadra Island. There were laundry facilities on site too, which we took advantage of (coin operated) and paid for washing tabs from reception. Close enough to be able to walk to restaurants and shops

We were near the end of our British Columbia vacation when we came to Campbell River. The motel is at the edge of the water and offers wonderful views! The rooms are very clean but not large. However, the owners are obviously upgrading the facility and it shows (the new furnishings are very smart). The young woman at the front desk was pleasant and gave us suggestions on what to do, where to eat, etc. We can recommend this motel to anyone who appreciates good value.

Good location, great view, small room but nice enough, clean, fridge, microwave, great wifi, bed a bit soft for my taste but my wife was happy, no aircon but a good fan and with the door to the (small) balcony open cool enough on a 27 C evening. Parking lot is TIGHT. Park at the end where you drive in, or be prepared to make five back and forths to get out, and that's in a Toyota.

My real complain was the rate. My wife booked the room and paid $120. When I logged in to write this review the Trip Advisor price was $86. If I were you, I'd lock in the price. The alternative is that $86 is for a room very different from ours, but ours had a sea view and two twin beds, and I'm pretty sure that all units have a view.

We had coupons and went to A&W for breakfast. Coffee served in mugs, it was great deal. Beachwood Corner Cafe gets great reviews but pity we ran out of time. Either way you'll need to drive to get your breakfast.
