The name is misleading, it's withing reasonable walking distance of the harbor but it's hardly harborside. We had three rooms on the 3rd floor, all showed signs of smoker damage, burn holes in seats and bed spreads. The wireless internet access was non-existant thought my machine could detect the network. The decor was worn. The windows in all rooms fitted poorly and were single glazed, in my mothers room they were sealed with tape, presumeably to prevent draughts. The beds were cheap and fairly uncomfortable. The noise insulation was poor and the view from the windows was worth keeping the curtains closed for. The hotel parking lot is grotty, I was somewhat surprised the car survived intact. We were pleased to drive away in the morning but since I booked the rooms I will be appologising to my family for some time. Curiously we all found the soap almost impossible to open, I resorted to a knife I was lucky to have with me and loaned it to other family members.

On the up side the staff were friendly and the linens and towels were the cleanest and most pleasant I have had in any class of hotel. As good as the best.

But in the end this is a dark and dingy hotel, if money isn't your primary concern you should blow the extra $30 to go somewhere with a real view and modern rooms.

The hotel is at 5 minutes walk from the harbour, very close. Near there is also a little mall and some good restaurants. The room was large enough but the bathroom should be better: little and seamed also not perfect clean.

We stayed at this hotel, it is was a last minute reservation, first let me say it looks like they are trying to clean the place up, newer laminate flooring in all the hallway and rooms but it is a case of you get what you pay for. the shower had no real head so it just pelted me with a heavy stream of water, I did notice that one of the beds was new as the boxspring was still wrapped in the delivery plastic with the date on it lol, the room was clean and there were no bugs.
It could have been worse so I felt OK. the guy who runs it is super cute and very friendly, may not stay there again but if I were in a pinch for a room in CR I would think about this place.

My spouse and I took a spontaneous trip to Campbell River and booked a short notice stay at this Inn. We arrive and nobody is at the front desk so we wait for a few minutes before the lady finally notices that we're there. We check in and receive our key card, head up to the room, and the key card didn't work so we needed to go back down and have that corrected.
We get into the room and it's not the type of room I had booked (it had 2 queen sized beds as opposed to the king size that we had selected).
The tv only had about 4 channels, unlike most places that provide at least basic cable or Shaw cable. We had asked a staff member for the WiFi password and he attempted a few times to rattle it off coherently but could barely get it out and the password that he finally decided was the right one obviously wasn't because we were unable to connect to their WiFi.
The bathroom was dirty, the tub was stained and looked as though it hadn't been washed in years.
Lastly, after coming back home, I've noticed a few bites on me that look like bed bug bites upon doing some research. We checked for bed bugs when we came in and didn't see anything, however, the appearance is very similar to what I've seen online which makes me nervous that I've brought them home with me.

Please don't stay at this place. It's not worth it. There are about 20 other hotels/motels you can stay at in CR. We've stayed at several others and this is by far the worst.

I booked an overnight stay at this "hotel" through the Airmiles site. I wondered about it when my cousin asked me why I would want to stay there? Found out why on arrival....the Harbourside is essentially a homeless or low income shelter!!! There are signs on the door warning that no drinking or smoking weed is allowed. Also that the doors will be locked at 10pm.
Not staying there!!!
Ended up at the Comfort Inn. Check review elsewhere.
Have contacted Airmiles to strongly suggest they remove this hotel from their program, and to request a refund of my Airmiles used for the booking.
I cannot post any pictures because mine did not turn out well, and also because there were many people in front if the facility, and I have no wish to cause them any embarrassment.
Airmiles will hopefully now take care that this place is removed from their website.

I have never felt anxiety from a building before. Stepping into the place gave me an anxiety attack. It smelled, the floors were warped and creaky and the heater was falling off the wall. Each section had a different smell from a bad smell to Marijuana.

Avoid! Not even worth a 1 rating, I'd give it a zero if it was possible. Our bed was ridden with bugs and the bites took days to disappear. We left around midnight and went to the Ramada down the road which was open late, and we had a shower to get rid of remaining bugs. Ramada is a far better place to stay.

Hotel smells, homeless drunk people in the lobby and outside. Previous food left over in the fridge, heating not working, microwave is not working, simple hand soap missing. My fault, I should have read reviews but at that price I expected at least clean and drunk free environment. Seriosly considering skeep in the car. If ferries would go over night I would not stay in the city at all.

Lobby smelled of smoke, stains on the bedding, lobby and entrance filthy. Fresh blood on the floor of the elevator, no hand sanitizer, staff not wearing masks, no plexiglass shields. Property owner didn't reply when we contacted them, no refund to date. We left immediately and got a room a the Comfort Inn across the street where it was clean, safe, COVID 19 protocols in place. Do not stay at Harbourside Inn, filthy and unsafe.

I spent two nights here over a weekend in different rooms, and when I woke up Sunday morning I was feeling itchy but also tired from the noise. I didn’t think anything of it until Tuesday, when I counted 24 bites on the front of my body, in little lines progressing up my arms, legs, and chest. Obviously disturbed I phoned the hotel to tell them that they likely have a bed bug infestation and that they should look at the two rooms I stayed in (and of course compensate me to some degree), but the manager was out at the moment. My message was not returned, and upon calling a second time two days later the clerk told me that I was a “sounded crazy” and was “a liar” and hung up on me!!! I would recommend sleeping in Foreshore Park in your sleeping bag before dealing with this disrespectful, arrogant, and downright rude “hotel” . Or bring your own bedding if you must.
