My wife and I had the good fortune to book 3 nights in this waterfront motel (room #101). A full kitchen, 4 piece bathroom, flat screen TV and free wifi & loads of parking all combined to make for a very pleasant stay. Check-in was easy and the staff were so friendly. There is a communal BBQ and stairs to the beach and you can enjoy the fishing boats and orcas that parade past your room while enjoying a coffee on your outside patio area. A short couple minute's stroll to a casual bar (Anchor Inn) was ideal for evening drinks just up the street. Enjoy.

I recently stayed at the Passage view for a month whilst working on the Island and can recommed the Passage View. The room was clean and comfortable and the view is amazing with more Bald Eagles than you can shake a stick at! There is access to the beach and the hosts; Christina and Rod were lovey and could not have been more accomodating; they made me feel very welcome. Highly recommended.

My husband and I and my mum and dad were travelling round Vancouver island. We hadn’t booked places to stay which was quite silly BUT we came across The PassageView Motel and wow!! The staff were friendly the rooms were beautiful the views just wow! I can highly recommend staying here, and I’m quite a snob with hotels and usually stay in Hilton’s. You won’t regret staying here just wonderful.

You get what you pay for.

Somewhat run-down motel with an run-down manager. The rooms are clean enough so their cleaner must be more on the ball. Musty smell in the room.

On the plus side, there's a great view, stairs down to a rocky beach, and it's cheap.

We recommend this place. An older, reasonably priced motel. The units are worn, but well-maintained, very clean and comfortable and reasonably spacious. Motel is on the east side of the road practically at the water’s edge. All rooms face the Passage and have unimpeded views.

Rooms have extra pillows and blankets, micro/refrig and Net. Good staff.

Problems: our room with a single queen had only one bedside lamp. Not enough outlets so we had to recharge the laptop in the bathroom. Motel is using octopus plugs for lamps and appliances.Little packets of shampoo were harder to open than blister packaging.

This older nicely maintained motel has great ocean views and steep stair access to a rocky beach. Parking is free and it is within walking distance of downtown shopping, restaurants and museums. The ground floor is pet-friendly with a small lawn area and picnic tables (upper floor rooms have balconies), also a communal BBQ (without utensils). The kitchenette units have a small fridge, sink, all dishes and a two burner stovetop, no oven or microwave. Housekeeping staff is the best I've seen, the rooms are spotless; and you can expect a nice welcome from the front desk staff. During our stay the phone system was on the fritz and we were unable to make outgoing calls from the room phone, although they were gracious about letting us use the front desk phone. Grounds are nicely landscaped and we picked enough blackberries from the stairs to make dessert. The view is the big draw and a lot of guest just sit and look out at the ocean most of their stay - very peaceful feel to the place. We would definitely stay there again.

I stayed in the winter just for a quick one-nighter on a road trip. The motel was clean and the beds were comfortable. I had two dogs with me and loved having the patio door out onto the lawn and the pooper-scooper at the end of the property. Beautiful views and a great rate! I quite liked this motel!

Stayed here for one night in September. Room was OK, nothing special, could not get the patio doors to lock properly. There was a piece of wood in the runners which prevented the doors from opening so I guess this was a known problem. Bed was comfy and room was quiet even though the property is close to the main road. Staff were friendly and there was a small complimentary breakfast available in the morning which had to be collected from the office.

We booked Pet Room by Phone with kitchenette $140.00 a night , we were shocked when we opened the door as it smelled like cigarette smoke , carpets were dirty looking , kitchenette was as old as the hills , tiny flat screen , and NO airconditioning ! sliding door seal was gone so it was foggy looking glass with no screen so you couldn't open have a open door or window at night it was very stuffy !
We just wanted out but they made us pay in advance and put a hold of extra money on our credit card, this money would be returned to our card after we leave! the coffee is disgusting and so is the continental breakfast. My husband was miserable wanted to leave as soon as we looked in our room but campbell river was booked everywhere and we didn't want to put up a fight to get our money back

Just wondering if noise from the main road is an issue to any previous guests?
Answer from Passage V
I don't hear complaints about road noise as a rule. I usually have very good feedback regarding sleep quality. If noise is an issue for you, I would recommend the top (3rd) floor, if you are able to use stairs. We don't have an elevator.
