If you like a campsite that has constant policing….then this place is for you. Management has changed and you are under constant surveillance. Not a fun place…but suitable for 65 plus militant type crowd. Not a chill, fun environment at all. And don’t cancel you won’t get any of your money back.

Response from Mona Kennedy, General Manager at Salmon Point Resort RV Park & Marina
Responded Sep 25, 2023
Sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations but no, we are not a "party park". Most of our guests do appreciate our presence in the park as we strive to maintain an atmosphere that everyone can enjoy. Cancellation policies are clearly stated prior to your booking and re-enforced on your reservation confirmation. We do insure that everyone understands the policy as late cancellations make it difficult for us to offer a site to those who are on our wait list. Once again, sorry that we are not a good fit for you.

We have stayed here twice before, but I will NOT be booking here again. I spoke to a lovely woman about booking one of the Waterfront sites at the end of August and was delighted to find out that site 17, 18 and 19 were free when we were able to stay. I had to check with my husband to verify the dates and when I called back, I ended up speaking with someone else who informed me that I would NOT be able to book the Waterfront sites even though they were available. I was shocked and asked why. She explained to me that because my brand new Imagine trailer was less than 28 feet, I would have to move back a row or two. She suggested site 32 and I asked if I would be able to see the ocean as there was a tree on that site and she explained that I wouldn't be able to see the ocean most likely because a bigger rig would be in front of us. I was very frustrated that they would downgrade me because our newer trailer is smaller now. So, I have learned that even though I would be paying the same as a bigger unit, I am NOT allowed to stay on the Waterfront sites due to the size of my trailer. She explained that they book the sites according to the size of your trailer. Very poor customer service and they have lost another paying customer. No wonder they had sites available at the end of August!

I am very disappointed to hear that you did not get the site you were hoping for. It is true that we have so many unique sites that it is often difficult to pair the right camper with the right location. The summer booking time is extremely busy and it sounds like we did not do the best job of explaining the situation to you. Should you reconsider and contemplate booking with us again please try to book well ahead of your scheduled arrival date as space is extremely limited all summer long.

It was my birthday so my wife, daughter and husband spent 3 wonderful nights at this fantastic resort in Cottage 9..It had 2 bedrooms, complete kitchen with all the essentials and also had a wood stove with enough firewood for 3 nights. Very clean resort and quite. We also had a pizza at the pizza truck on site...expensive but very good. Had a campfire on the beach as well...Would recommend .

My husband and I spent a weekend in April in the lighthouse area in our RV. The grounds are beautiful maintained and well run. The reservation proceeds was very easy, the rates extremely reasonable, and they have some great amenities including a seasonal pool, hot tub, playground, communal fire pits and even a pizza food truck on site. There are full hook ups including wifi, which was strong enough to stream Netflix at night in our RV. We enjoyed beach fires, long beach walks, and watching eagles fishing right off our campsite. We will definitely be back!

Knowing that indoor mask requirements were being adhered to for the washroom/shower facilities I booked & prepaid a stay. Unfortunately this was not the case. After multiple encounters of no masks in the washrooms the 1st nite I brought it to the office attention. They put up an additional sign. The next day continued no mask guests. Again I let the office know. Manager wasn't in on Sunday. My concerns would need to wait till Monday. The no masks continued. I chose to leave. I did not hear from the manager& chose to follow up on Tuesday. She had been busy. When relaying to the manager my concerns her reply "We are doing the best we can. We are not the police" . Sorry this is not being responsible enough in having policies followed for the safety of all guests. No refund will be given. Very disappointing customer service & business.

Our records show that you booked your stay on July 26 well before the new mask requirements came into effect on August 25. At the time of your booking there were no mandatory mask requirements in indoor public spaces. Since August 24 we have been adhering to the latest heath board advisements. You voiced concerns over people smoking in the park and people not wearing masks. We do our best to discourage any behaviors that may negatively impact the experience of our guests. I am sure you understand that our park is very busy and it is often difficult to have an eye on everything that our customers do. I apologize if you were affected by any “second hand smoke” but hope you can understand the difficulty in policing that in a campground atmosphere. We are in full compliance with all the current directives from the BC Health Authority and have been since the beginning of the pandemic. Signage and notices are posted and maintained. Anyone forgetting to abide by those rules are reminded and asked to comply. To my knowledge there have been no refusals. Once again, I regret that you felt that you had to cut your visit short but I am confident that we have done everything we can to see that our guest and visitors are in compliance with all current health directives.

Just so people know when booking into this Resort they have a 60 day cancellation policy does not matter what your circumstances are when cancelling. I gave them a 1 month notice because I was diagnosed with breast cancer and of course had to cancel. I find this cancellation policy with a 60 day time limit a bit much a lot can happen to a person within that time period SHAME ON THEM for their cruel and callous treatment of someone who had to cancel because of a medical condition. So they will take 125.00 from me plus cancellation fee then they will have another renter in no time so they will make double. Greedy . Hospitality is not their concern.

Sorry to hear about your experience and wish you well with your treatment. We do our best to rent any sites that have been forced to leave early and if we can that portion of the site charge is refunded. We make sure that all of our customers are aware of the cancellation policy at the time of booking. I am very sorry for your circumstance but hope you can understand the policy is intended to insure that all booking requests are given fair and prompt consideration. CANCELLATION POLICY: All cancellations have a minimum charge. For all Accommodation Units including all cabins and rental RVs (regardless of length of stay) and for RV Sites and moorage slips booked for 15 days or more we require 60 days advance notice of cancellation. The minimum charge for a cancellation of these stays is $100. For RV Sites or moorage slips booked for less than 15 days, 14 days advance notice of cancellation is required. The minimum charge for a cancellation of these stays is $25. In all cases where proper notice is not given the full deposit will be applied as a cancellation fee. For all reservation classes including moorage there are no refunds or credits for late arrivals or early departures.

clean, well maintained park. Ocean front. Many amenities including pool, hot tub, laundry, horse shoes, games room, small store. Nice hike to nearby beach. Shopping close by, short distance to city. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. RV sites are large and good wifi. Small suggestion to put dust lay down on ramp/road to boat launch.

The cabins have a great location near the ocean point and sheltered by large trees offering cool shade on sunny days. The cabins have every amenity: clean non perfumed bedding and towels, a full stove and fridge with pots, dishes, toaster, kettles and outside a new Weber BBQ c/w propane tank on the veranda. The view is spectacular 180 degrees clear to Campbell River in the North, the magnificent Coastal mountains fronted by the Salish sea. Beautiful unobstructed sunrises and sunsets from the open point c/w fire pits and chairs.

My husband and I spent August and September exploring the RV sites along with east coast of Vancouver Island in our new-to-us trailer. Some we stayed at and some just peeked in, and Salmon Point was our favourite of all. We particularly appreciated that it had a marina in front of the sites with the sea beyond. It was beautifully kept and well organized and clean. Mona and the staff in the office were always friendly and helpful. We liked that they were dog-friendly, and that our wi-fi worked. Lots of places to stroll/hike, and Adirondeck chairs along the sea to sit and watch boats come and go or a pretty sunset. Although the rec hall was closed due to Covid, and the restaurant was being rebuilt due to a fire, we're hopeful they'll both be open by next summer when we return. We sure look forward to our next visit and are glad we booked early.

Stayed 2 nights and was fortunate to get a waterfront site in the Lighthouse section. Office loaned me an adapter for power source, even when closed. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Views are stunning which was topped off with 5 Humpback whales performing out front. Not to mention the sunrises. Only down side was the Wi-Fi was not useable. Would definitely return.
