Lucilla and Rocco are so welcoming and friendly. We felt like we were visiting family or old friends. Great breakfast.Great location near the ocean, airport, and ferries. Campbell River is a charming town and a nice resting stop for the night if you are travelling to Quadra or Cortes Island, or north Vancouver Island.

Arrived at short notice for a week long fishing trip and Lucilla gave us a warm welcome along with afternoon coffee and cookies. We found the facilities clean comfortable and bright. Having Fishing Trips planned with early morning starts Lucilla prepared morning coffee along with homemade sandwiches for us to take on our trip. The mornings we weren't out early she provided a hearty breakfast. Lucilla is a gracious host who I would recommend to anyone looking for a pleasant stay.

I stayed here with my family for the week end. The B&B was recently renewed and everything looks perfect. A lot of nice and classy details, surely due to the Italian background of the owners/innkeepers.

Outstanding cleanliness and charming innkeepers - with a special honor mention for the cats and Leonardo :-)

We stayed at The Purple Starfish for two nights and we loved it. With our party of 5 we had both bedrooms and the sofa bed in the living rooom, so the whole B&B for ourselves. Bedrooms are spacious and clean. Beds are fine (one of the mattresses maybe in for a replacement because you keep rolling to the middle while sleeping). There is a spacious living room with kitchen. Not equipped for preparing a complete meal but there is a microwave, coffeemaker, toaster and fridge what worked out just fine for us. Owner Rocco also offered the use of his BBQ, very kind.
In the living room you'll find much info about Campbell River and surroundings.
The breakfast was served in the kitchen and was very nice, a great start of the day. WiFi signal was good, very important if you travel with teenagers as we did.
Rocco, Lucilla and son Leonardo are very friendly people with Italian roots. Nice to talk about de Italian cuisine and how to make a good pasta Carbonara. We felt welcome and hope to return one day.
Thank you for the hospitality.

We stayed here with our three year old for a night. Rocco and his family are very nice and he makes a great breakfast. The room was nice and clean and Rocco arranged for a super nice bed for our little one. They have two rooms, you share the living room, bathroom and toilet with the other room. The living room has a complete kitchen and lot's of kids toys. In our case we shared with a very nice Italian couple who had a little one as well so everyone had lots of fun. It's a five minute drive to the center of Campbell river. All in all a great stay!

We have stayed in this b&b in June, 2013 to visit Campbell River and do a whale watching tour in the neighbourhood. I found out that hotel prices are quite high in this area so I started looking for an alternative stay, for example in a bed & breakfast. I was refered to this b&b from another b&b owner who didn't have any availability left.
At that time, there wasn't a great website so I wasn't really sure where we were getting into but it turned out great. The owner, Rocco, responded very quickly on emails and even sent us pictures of the rooms etc. When we arrived Rocco welcomed us and showed us around, and even made us a cappuccino! The rooms look great, everything was new, it turned out that we were the first customers to stay in the b&b. We had a great talk, his wife and son are also very nice and they checked on us regularly to see if everything was still ok or if we needed anything. We stayed for 2 nights and every morning when we woke up a fresh (and big!) breakfast was ready for us.
There are 2 rooms with a shared bathroom and a shared common area with a kitchen, couch and tv etc. We were the only ones staying there so we had the whole place to ourselves. There is a separate entrance for the guests staying in the b&b, you can come and go as you please. The place was also very clean, we could see that it is cleaned regularly. The centre of Campbell River is 10 minute drive away. The ocean is across the street! The neighbourhood is very quiet.

We absolutely loved staying here. It was the best stay of our holiday in Canada. The main thing I remember was the family itself, they were so nice and truly made sure that we felt welcome into their home. Everything was taken care of, the breakfast was delicious every morning and we even got a little gift when we left. I would recommend this b&b to everyone staying in Campbell River.
