This place was so cute, the fireplace and the atmosphere were heavenly! Only downside is the bed is very uncomfortable and the living room couch/bed setup isn’t the most comfy to sit on! I would only go back if they invested in better beds.
These buildings look trashed. They have ugly black scum all over them and lots of moss which is clearly cracking holes into the ceiling and causing leeks. The black on the buildings must be mold. Gross. For this price they should atleast have nice looking cabins. All my vacation pictures look too embarrassing to show to anyone
I want to be fair, so our stay here proved to us we are Hotel /Motel people. The seating in the living area was uncomfortable if you liked spending any time watching TV/reading enjoying your evening. The shower was adequate and the hot tub was lovely. The kitchen area was good. The water view did exist but across highway 10A, we didn't find the road noise an issue. The fireplace was very efficient and there is a natural gas bbq. For me this was a $120 a night accomodation.
PLEASE READ AND SHARE. Do NOT stay at the Oyster Bay Resort in campbell river under the current management. My wife and i were kicked out of our cabin 24 hours after having our first child. My wife had been staying at this resort for over 2 weeks while waiting for our baby. We had booked another week, to which we were told we may only be able to stay in our current cabin until the saturday and then may have to shuffle around. We decided that moving cabins was not a big deal and if needed we would do just that. On friday Sept 18 2020 my daughter was born. Saturday Sept 19 2020 i called the resort to inform them we would be leaving a day early, tuesday Sept 22 2020. The managers wife proceeded to tell me that they were unpacking our cabin and that checkout was 11:00. they had misunderstood and only booked us until saturday. I then had to leave the hospital and pack up the cabin. i was not supposed to leave the hospital and come back due to covid-19. Upon arrival i found and agitated and aggressive manager unpacking my room with no mask or gloves. He proceeded to come within 6 feet of me multiple times and told me i have 15 minutes pack. When i went to pay the remainder of the balance for our stay i told them it made me sick giving them my money, To which the front desk staff (managers wife) replied "Your not the only person to ever have a kid dude." All of that being said please do not stay at the oyster bay resorts in campbell river under the current management.…
Chose this place as a plan "b" after having a flight cancelled due to COVID, hubby and i were celebrating an anniversary. The reviews for this place were great however, upon our arrival it quickly became clear that the highway between the cabin and the ocean is a well travelled one and very noisy. The cabin was cute and cozy and the view was spectacular though. On our first night it was discovered that neither our jet tub nor the fireplace were in working condition, the tub instructions were so confusing and didnt' match the control panel, this was extremely bothersome as we were looking forward to having a jet tub to relax. We spoke to the lady in the office about it the next morning and she sent in maintenance who took about an hour or so to fix the problems. Conclusion was that the jet tub was a newer one and it was not updated with the proper instructions, the hose under the cabin for the tub was not hooked up and the thermostat for the fireplace had to be replaced with a new one. We were able to have a jet tub on the 2nd night but the fireplace still didn't work. We checked out earlier than we had to on Sunday as neither of us felt relaxed in this place and we just wanted to get home. We expressed our views and stated that the cabin had not been ready for us but the complaints fell on deaf ears and it was obvious she didn't care to make things right with us so we left. We spent a lot of money for a 2 night stay in a cabin that was not ready for our arrival having 2 of the major features that are advertised not in working condition. We would really like a refund for this, we are pretty dissatisfied that all services included in the price of the cabin were not provided and even after bringing this to your attention we were not offered any kind of compensation for the cabin not being ready. No attempt was made to make this right. On a side note, I want to take some time to express my concern of this highway. This is a major route to Campbell River, it has a constant flow of traffic doing 80-100km/hr and even cars passing each other right in front of the resort. As a person who has been hit by a vehicle, this caused me a lot of stress and anxiety. I was on edge the whole time at the thought that someone was going to get killed there. The noise from the vehicles was so extreme that we couldn't hear our music let alone play our guitar. I left this place feeling more stressed out than when i arrived. The area is dangerous, perhaps a petition to lower the speed limit is something to consider? I know if it was my resort I'd want my guests to feel relaxed and safe.…
