Detailed Reviews
I pass through Campbell River on Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada often and i have stayed at many of the hotels in the area. last August i stayed at Heron's Landing Hotel for a few nights and was thrilled to discover that in the breakfast area there are two hot plates and the ingredients for guests to make their own omelette. how unusual! i had never been offered that by any other hotel anywhere (and i travel a lot). there was grated cheese, green onions, red peppers, etc., all cut up and ready for use. it was wonderful to be able to eat an omelette the way i like it; rather than the common scrambled eggs that are often too hard and cold and tasting stale. i stayed at Heron's Landing again in january, 2020, and it was again the nicest, most friendly and accommodating hotel in the area. it is reasonably priced and all of the staff that i have met are superior. i have finally found my home away from home in Campbell River!

Easy access and nice location x from (rocky but beautiful) beach! Ashley at front desk very sweet. Property and rooms clean and pleasant. Covered secure parking is a great asset. (Cars only. Roof not high enuf for trucks.) We had small problem and handyman came right away and fixed it. Hallway nicely decorated with botanical prints all in matching gold frames. Our room had small but nice balcony /nice to sit outside / and sliding door to let in fresh air. Bathroom has large counter surrounding sink so you have a place to set ur needed toiletries. There is some noise from street but it seems to taper off at night so not a big problem. Pleasant to stroll on sidewalk by beach!

Disappointed with the view from our room at check in. Staff went above and beyond and after some shifting around based on client need, we were offered a move to a room with a spectacular view...we were beyond happy

Stayed over Christmas as a family of 4 whilst visiting family in the area.
We stayed in a 2bed apartment which was huge and perfectly suited our needs with 2bathrooms
The rooms are dated but for the price we paid we were very happy.
Parking is available in the garage and also at the front of the property but there is often not enough space for all of the guests so you may need to park in the road
We booked the property specifically because of the room type and it had breakfast included. The breakfast room was quite small and very crowded at times and the breakfast items did run out occasionally when busy
It was disappointing that no breakfast was available on Christmas day (even though we booked and paid for breakfast in our daily rate)
I appreciate that it is a holiday but I do feel that some sort of breakfast should be made available as we had paid for it.
Also the breakfast times stated in the room information were from 9am but we almost missed breakfast one day as the breakfast finishes at 9am on weekdays (only holidays and weekends when it starts at 9am)
Overall we had a good stay and would return - with some attention to detail this would be a great hotel and the views from our room were fantastic.

The location of the hotel is super convenient, and the rooms are very comfortable and well appointed. But I would not recommend staying here unless you are a smoker. The rooms have no air conditioning, so you need to keep windows open to keep things comfortable, especially on the top floor. Unfortunately, due to a constant barrage of people smoking both on their balconies, in front of the hotel and behind the hotel, you end up with a hanging and incessant cigarette smoke smell in your non smoking room.
As well, the windows don't have screens so you also end up with loads of bugs.
Parking is also challenging and limited and despite staying here for two nights, I've yet to encounter a front desk person because they work very limited hours (hence the smoking all over the place).
I booked a room for four people, but only two towels were provided and only decaf coffee provided. No one was at the front desk to address either minor issue (and I didn't think either qualified as an emergency).
It's a shame because as mentioned earlier, the rooms are great and comfortable. Location convenient. Price reasonable. But the constant cigarette smoke was a big deterrent for me.
While I thought the rooms were comfortable and spacious, as a non-smoker, I would not stay here again.

Very pleasant stay because of the clean, modern facilities, and the water view. The place is quiet and in a good part of town, not far from the restaurants. There is an elevator and sufficient parking. Continental breakfast includes sausage and eggs, pre-made waffles, fresh fruit, oatmeal, yogurt, etc. Only problem is that it's served at 9am on weekends and public holidays.

We had a very pleasant four night stay at Herons landing. A large room with very comfortable bed. Parking was great every day - never had a problem getting a space every day, even though the hotel was full.
The only downside was there was no breakfast as advertised - and we weren't made aware of this.
This hotel is a very good, very reasonably priced option near the centre of Campbell river - we would stay again.

I travel a lot up and down Vancouver Island and stay at both budget hotels and for a treat five star resorts. Of them all this lovely boutique hotel in Campbell River is by far my favourite. Rooms are Suits are very spacious and decorated in a way that makes one feel at home. Location is perfect, right across from the Ocean and central to everything in Campbell River. The Hotel is clean and staff our amazing, friendly, warm and helpful. I highly recommend Heron's Landing Hotel.

Staff were great—when the room we requested was unavailable, they gave us an upgrade with a kitchenette. An older complex, but clean and so comfortable, with secure underground parking available. We'll look forward to going there again.

+1
This is an older little hotel across the road from the ocean. We had a deck with a view of the ocean. Our check-in went smooth and then check-in lady named Paige was friendly, cheerful and helpful. Our room was clean and had everything we needed. They supply local natural shampoo to soap. The rooms have mini fridges and coffee/tea. We liked the locked car garage. The breakfast was included and was good. Something for everyone. I would definitely go back.

That is a very good question. I believe if you phone our toll free number which is 888-923-2849, from Washington it does work. I am not 100% sure. We also offer free long distance anywhere in North America for our guest's while they are staying with us.
