I will say the hotel was a bit outdated and the walls are a little thin so I could hear deep voices talking in the next room. Air conditioning wasn’t working - front desk said it was a Covid thing but I’m not sure why Covid would impact it 🤷🏻‍♀️. We did have a fan in the room that slightly helped but didn’t compensate for the lack of air.
However - The staff were all very friendly. I think the hotel has done a great job at trying to make rooms seem less outdated without doing major renovations. Bed and pillows were comfortable. Carpet in the room was well maintained and in good condition. Walls were not all marked up and chipped. Bedding was simple white and no different than you’d get at an expensive hotel in a large city. Room was clean. It’s obviously that they are taking care of what they can without a major overall like replacing tubs etc. (They show significant wear). After a year and a half of Covid lock down, I can appreciate that a big renovation might be delayed.

Restaurant staff were very friendly. Free breakfast but the the one available hot plate they offered was very meh. Apparantly the chef picks the meat each day and ours only came with super greasy sausage. Everyone loves bacon. The restaurant should just stick with bacon if the menu is so limited. Also, if there’s only one egg option (scrambled), it’s easiest enough to use real eggs. The ones we got were gritty and kinda gross and definitely not from a fresh shelled egg.

I give it a 4/5 because I think I didn’t expect a 5 star large city hotel. And I was impressed at how friendly the staff were and the obvious effort put into making the hotel as updated as possible.

The hotel has a great location near to everything including the island ferries. I noticed that the window actually open which is unusual for most hotels. The fresh ocean breeze blowing into our room gave us a rich sleeping experience. The beds were very comfortable and the linens were silky cool and soft. The morning service in the restaurant was quick and friendly. We opted to order from the menu. The selection of eggs bennies made it difficult to choose and once we ordered, it didn't take long to enjoy them. They were delicious. Take note that the coffee is exceptional. The front desk staff were quick and efficient at checkout and wished us safe travels. We'll be back.

I’ve stayed at this hotel for work several times over the years, and am usually placed in a single queen room on the two storey block that is behind the front desk. I love it - the room is smaller than most hotel rooms and feels similar my bedroom at home in size.

This is also one of the few hotels I know of that includes a flatter stomach-sleeper pillow option ( I do not mean a soft pouffy pillow), and I am *so* grateful for it. There are times at other hotels where I am left folding towels to use as a pillow because of the frustratingly uniformly plush giant pillows. So, whomever is responsible for the pillow variety *thank you*.

The building is older, but the decor is a playfully modern nod to the 60s period of the building that doesn’t try to mask it.

When we made the reservation on the hotel's official website it said that there's a breakfast buffet included but when we checked in we were told that there will only be a cold breakfast that included yogurt and juice boxes due to COVID. They could've done something better than that! The restaurant is still open but you have to pay for your hot breakfast if you don't like what's being offered. We communicated the issue to the staff at the front desk but nothing was done about it. The view in the room was also not so good facing the paking lot. I don't reccomend staying at this time.

Front desk person was not helpful and very judgmental. I am requesting for separate receipt for the standard rate & the remaining amount( I got a king suite room) because my company will only reimburse the standard rate. The staff said “ no I will not do that so you can have more money. I cannot issue a fake receipt” . Then maybe I explained 3 more times because I insisted because I know that what I am requesting is not illegal and wrong. Until he understood. The thing is, if he did not understand my request he should ask me again what do I want rather than accusing me of being a bad person who is requesting for fake receipt to gain more money.
Reservation was for 4 but in the room their is only 2 towels. 1 toilet tissue and no prepared bed linen ready for th sofa bed knowing reservation is for 2 adults and 2 children

Breakfast service was horrible. We went for breakfast at 830am and wanted a small quick meal as we were on our way to an excursion so we only ordered 1 piece of toast and a cup of fruit (we had to order food because of covid so there was no breakfast bar). After 30 min we asked the server and she said she will check on our food. It took 45min and we still didn’t receive the food. We asked our server again and she then brought out food for us that we didn’t order (plate of bacon and eggs, and I don’t eat bacon). We were pissed off so we left, we were late for our excursion that we had planned, and still had to go purchase our own food outside of the hotel. We told the front desk later in the day, and they were very nice and offered us a $25 coupon to the restaurant but unfortunately this was not of any use for us. We were visiting Vancouver island for our honeymoon and chose this hotel because it offered breakfast but we will reconsider coast hotels and never use them again in the future. Rooms are dated, front desk staff are nice.

Rude, combative staff. Booked a 2 bed room with air conditioning received a 1 bed room and was told I was wrong and they couldn't pull up my reservation amazingly. After fighting with the front end staff they put us in a old 2 bed room with no air conditioning, a broken fan and an old dirty room. Do not waste your money staying here trust me. The restaurant looks like a cafeteria and overall the hotel needs major renovations for the prices they're charging. Pick another hotel!!!!

Front desk and housekeeping staff were very friendly and kind unlike the two restaurant staff (surprisingly). There were a few stains across the duvet covers, blanket and one stain on my pillow (didn’t check my bf’s). Kleenex box was empty in the bathroom tissue holder. We stayed over the long weekend, they don’t have daily housekeeping until check out. The evaluator and bathroom fans stopped working on second night, our senior family member had to walk up to 6/F to his room. The free breakfast included with the stay were a joke! Free breakfast only available in the to-go option, prepackaged in a brown paper sandwich bag left over behind the counter, with a muffin (not fresh), yogurt (room temperature), egg and fruit. If you don’t like the freebies, there’s a 10% off coupon for the restaurant where u can order breakfast.

Was a good overnight stay. Mentioned to the desk clerk at check out that the room was noisy and he suggested that next time we ask for a courtyard room. The front clerks were very informative about restaurants in the area that delivered. The room was very clean and spacious. We enjoyed our stay even if the beds are not quite as comfortable as the ones at home.

Dangerous place. To their credit the front of desk staff did organize some one to carry my suitcase to the 6th floor where my room was. Apparently there are no plans to fix elevator as per " word on the ground" . This is a problem if you have a medical condition which I have. Also shower in bedroom broken. Understaffed in restaurant results in server lecturing me about her difficulties ....despite the fact I was ignored. Eventually my breakfast was rudely plonked in front of me....which delay caused me to be late for another outside appointment
