Hotel's Favourite
My spouse and I stayed here for 3 nights where we treated ourselves to staying in one of the suites. Though described as a midrange hotel, this is a newer property with a modern style and rooms and common areas in very good condition. The oceanview suite had a nice patio, the room was very quite. The pool, hot tub and gym area were all in good condition and we took advantage of them for couple of the days. Breakfast was the typical Comfort Inn self serve style, but really had the various choices you would want. Coffee was also available all day. Excellent parking with large wide spaces, access to the community both front and back of the property, where we felt safe all the time despite there being a small amount of homelessness in the area which so many communities are experiencing. Also within walking distance are various tour companies, the ferry to Quadra and Cortes Islands, the circular walking path around the community, various good restaurants, cafes and pubs, shops and a liquor store just across and slightly down the street.
If you have a car, it’s a short drive to various grocery, cafe, restaurants and other shops. For recreation, check out the nearby Elk Falls and the walking paths to experience some beautiful nature hikes while not being overly remote. There are a couple car parks along the highway.
Lastly, hotel staff were all welcoming and courteous. All in all, an excellent stay!

Uncertain of where to stay during a pandemic? I recommend this hotel. The protocols they have in place make you feel safe. On arrival, you are informed a mask is required in all common areas of the hotel. If you need one, they will supply a disposable mask. The staff wear masks, use gloves, sanitize all items such as pens, room cards & debit machines. You select the items you require from the complimentary breakfast bar, and a masked, gloved staff person places them in a paper bag for taking to your room or eating at the outdoor tables. We booked the pool and spa and had the whole area to ourselves for 45 minutes. These people are truly trying to give patrons a pleasant, safe holiday stay.

We stayed for 2 nights over the holidays and couldn't have been more pleased. They take pets which is great for us. The room, although a bit on the small side, was very cozy and well-appointed. The bed and linens were extremely comfortable and it was very quiet to sleep. The bathroom was roomy with a large vanity. You can tell they take the Covid protocols seriously; our room and the whole hotel in general was super clean, I was very impressed. It was nice how you could book the pool for personal use too. All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was included and had a good variety of items to choose from and was very good. I highly recommend staying here and we will return again for sure. Thank you for a great stay!

We had a comfortable stay at this hotel for a long weekend at Campbell River. The hotel seemed quite new. The room was a standard size but the bathroom was large. We had a view of the harbour from our balcony. Staff were following covid safety precautions. We nade an appointment for the pool and hot tub and had them to ourselves for 45 minutes, Upon request, hotel staff provided us with robes free of charge even though not officially included in our room rate. Parking was free and the hotel was close to all local attractions. Because of covid, the hot breakfast was not available but a takeout option was offered.

+1
Had to travel to Campbell River for business. Booked my room online through the choicehotels website. When i was booking, all I saw was 1 King Bed, I clicked on the pictures on the booking page, which showed two pictures of the bed and one of the tv/desk. Okay, I thought, I king bed sounds good to me. I checked in, all seemed fine. Got up to my room, put my stuff down and began working (making phone calls). 27minutes later, I was going to use the washroom and discover that the shower is wide open into the bathroom. This is a room for folks in wheelchairs. I immediately phone down to the front desk and advise the front desk person that I'm in a wheelchair room and feel I should leave that available for someone who needs it, and request a room change. I was advised that because I was in the room for 28 minutes, they could not move me or re-rent the room I was in to anyone else. There were other rooms available as confirmed by the front end staff, however I would be required to book the new and pay for both rooms. I felt this was ludacris and went down to speak to the manager. The manager, who is new to her role, sided with her front end staff member. So not overly impressed, I go back up to my room. I was going to go put my bags up and find a set of dried up contact lenses beside the bed on the floor. While the staff did come up and and pick up the contact lenses, I don't believe their cleaning staff are working too diligently. There was also some hair in the bathroom on the side of the sink and floor. I found it comical that when I was getting the laptop setup on wifi, there is a blurb on the room key holder...WE'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU (the rest of the blurb is in the picture). They will take care of you, unless you have a problem I guess. I don't often stay in Choice Hotels and normally stick to Best Western or Marriot's due to their level of professionalism and willingness to work with their clientele. After a very long travel day, this experience just really frustrated me.

We stayed here three nights in September. We had a really nice suite with an extra bedroom, a really big livingroom, a very nice bathroom and a balcony. The view from the balcony was lovely as it was facing the sea and we enjoyed sitting outside in the evening and watching the ferry arrive. Breakfast was included in the room rate and was excellent. The location is really perfect - restaurants and the pier where all the boat trips leave are within easy walking distance. We can highly recommend this hotel.

A big shout out to the Comfort Inn for providing a safe, clean haven. We just finished a nice day tour of VI staying in various hotels. This hotel stood out as having the best precautions in place while being an uncomplicated process as well. A few examples...providing a bagged breakfast, 45 minute time slots for each family to enjoy the pool, pens at the front desk clearly marked "clean" and "used". Each staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful.
Our room was very nice! Even though facing a busy road, we never heard the traffic. If you can, ask for one of the rooms at the front of the hotel. They have a bigger balcony with a nice view of the water.

This hotel is exceptional with respect to cleanliness and COVID protocols. Our room was very clean, the bed very comfortable, and it was very soundpproof. It included a microwave, fridge and coffee maker as well as a take out breakfast of yogurt, eggs, muffins and fruit. I highly recommend this hotel. It's an excellent value.

We only stayed one night as we were going on an early excursion out of Campbell River and this hotel was very close to the meeting point. We found the room very spacious with lots of natural light and the bathroom was clean and very nice too! We arrived a little earlier than check-in and our room was available so that was a bonus. We also asked if we could have a late check out as the excursion finished at 12pm and they were happy to accommodate us. Also we had to meet early in the morning so we would miss our included breakfast so we were offered a “take away” breakfast that we could pick up early in the morning. I’m always worried about noise during the night but my fears were unfounded and we had a good night’s sleep with no noisy interruptions from rude guests going to rooms late at night. The whole experience was very nice and we would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is very nice and clean. Staff is very pleasant. Nice rooms. I would have given a higher score if there were security cameras. This hotel is in an area where many of the homeless people hang out. Our car was parked right near the lobby and was keyed in several places during the night. We went to the front desk to inquire about security cameras and were told they didn’t have any. Being in the area the hotel is, they should absolutely have cameras. Not impressed.

Yes we were there for 2 days. On the first morning, there was eggs and bacon, and pancake iron to make pancakes. On the second day there was sausages, eggs ad the pancakes. There are cereals, hardboiled eggs, yogurt, muffins, danishes and some fruit. Quite a variety.
From my recollection, I'd say about 1.4 m at most - I don't think I was out of my depth at any point. It's not a big pool and could have been shallower than I recall!
We overlooked a large building site which was abit disappointing
