The kitchenette suite is very roomy and feels more like an apartment suite. The structure and furnishings are older but not an issue. Noises suggested some sketchy activity in the surrounding rooms while we visited. The major drawback was the lack of hot water in the shower. It started off warm (not hot) and very quickly becomes cold. Not sure why as both the bathroom and kitchen sinks had hot water at the exact same time. Throttling to save on cost or something wrong with the plumbing?

We’ve stayed at the Badlands Motel twice before and never had a problem. Unfortunately, this most recent time there were 10+ beetles in our room. When we found the first couple we were willing to write them off as the room likely hadn’t been used in a while and may have even followed us inside. However, more and more beetles kept appearing. We contacted the hotel to let them know of our experience and to advise them of the room condition. I asked the person at the front desk to put me in touch with management and he assured me he’d have them call me. No phone call and no resolution. Thoroughly disappointed and annoyed. Will NEVER stay here again.

Room was clean and in reasonable shape. Bed was pretty comfortable. Staff was friendly. All in all an acceptable stay. Restaurant on location was also clean, reasonably priced with good portions and well cooked meals. Worthwhile place to stay at if you are on a budget.

We just stayed here for September long 2020. For a little dated motel on the outside but renovated and clean on the inside was gem, for all that complain go pay the big price somewhere else. Nice to be able to support a small business. This price is great for the budget. Good location easy to get too. Then the food well there is only one word to say FANTASTIC and super busy I can now see why, farm fresh eggs and the potato pancakes are to die for, you won’t leave hungry, All the staff are very friendly would recommend to anyone to stay here, we will definitely be back.

We quite enjoyed this road-side motel. The room was big enough for me and two teenagers-though I did get a suit, which made things manageable-lol. It is well situated and about a 5-7 minute bike ride to town and many other attraction. Being a motel, it was easy to unload the car as well. The attached resto provided a great breakfast. We'll stay here again.
