A true haven of peace at the foot of Les Baux de Provence, the Domaine de Manville is a sweet blend of authenticity and luxury. Nature is overflowing and offers an idyllic setting from the 30 rooms and suites that make up the hotel. The Michelin-starred table, orchestrated by Belgian Chef Lieven Van Aken, is a true culinary experience that is responsible for its environment. It is the fruits and vegetables from the Domaine's permaculture farm that enrich the pantry of the Manville kitchens. It is difficult to miss the sumptuous Verrière, which is a must for breakfast every morning, bathed in natural light. A farandole of delicacies from our pastry chefs, this morning moment is a must in the region, not to mention the honey produced by the site's beehives. For your leisure time, you will have the choice of king, between moments of relaxation at the SPA or during an 18-hole golf course! For the little ones, it is at the Kids Club that the days take place between fun activities and discovery of the fauna and flora of the Alpilles! The Estate has a shuttle allowing you to easily navigate between the most beautiful villages of Baux de Provence in Saint Remy de Provence. So whether within this beautiful Provencal property or around, you will not lack ideas to enjoy time with family or friends. To top it all off, the Domaine de Manville has nine magnificent Hotel Houses with 3 to 4 fully equipped bedrooms, with a view riveted on the golf course!

Domaine De Manville stands out for its serene and elegant atmosphere, often lauded by guests for its artful design and decor. The array of amenities, including the upscale restaurants, spa, and golf course, alongside the attentive service, frequently receive high marks, though a few suggest the spa could use enhancement. While most visitors relish the spacious rooms with picturesque views, there are occasional remarks about room darkness and noise. The hotel's location is celebrated for its beauty, especially during breakfast, even as some guests have mentioned ventilation issues.
The cleanliness is consistently praised, with the hotel's meticulous attention to detail evident in the maintenance of rooms and grounds. Opinions on value vary, with some feeling the experience is overpriced despite the excellent cuisine and service. Overall, the professional service at Domaine De Manville, including the occasional complimentary upgrade, is a highlight for many, although some see room for improvement.

My wife and I had the good fortune to return to Domaine De Manville for the 3rd time in the past 7 years. This 5 star rated resort is exactly that, 5 stars that does not disappoint in any way. It is situated in the heart of Provence in a valley just below the beautiful town of Les Baux. It has an 18 hole golf course with 3 restaurants. It is a converted old farmhouse with over 50 rooms. All rooms are very spacious and exquisitely decorated, some having balconies overlooking the pool area with the mountains in the background. Service was amazing with the staff always going out of their way to accommodate and help their guests. We had dinner at their gastronomical restaurant which was an experience in itself. Everything that came out of the kitchen was creatively decorated and full of exquisite flavors. At the end of our meal, we were invited to the kitchen to meet the chef and his amazing staff. A wonderful touch at the end of our dinner. We also dined at their other bistro restaurant on another evening and again, the food and service was exceptional. The bar area is so inviting, as well as the grounds outside around the pool area. We had pre diner drinks every night by the pool to enjoy the beauty and the whole provincial atmosphere. Hotel De Manville is highly recommended.

We rented a villa on the estate and it was just magnificent!!! Inside the villa we had 4 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom and toilet so that everyone's privacy was respected. A magnificent swimming pool was free to access for residents of the villas. The setting is just splendid and the carts as a means of transport in the area are just incredible. The staff was really attentive throughout the stay! This allowed us to really unwind. THANK YOU !!!

Beautifully located hotel with lots of excursion options. We booked a junior suite for CHF 540 per night plus CHF 60 for breakfast and got a nice big room with a balcony in a new building attached. The furnishings were nothing special, but the coffee machine didn't work properly. The lighting was annoying: all or nothing! No way to turn individual lamps on or off, no reading lamps; very bright festive lighting or dark. One morning in the shower the water gradually dried up until it was just a trickle. Soapy and with shampoo in your hair: VERY annoying. A call to reception resulted in housekeeping turning up about an hour later. The breakfast buffet was rather meager, never worth CHF 60. Some of the staff were very nice, but the majority were rather arrogant, always busy with something else, had no time. The golf course was OK, slightly twisted holes, fairways not maintained, some bunkers rock hard. The exclusively rectangular greens and bunkers are strange. The food in the bistro and the Michelin restaurant is OK, but not really convincing.

we were kindly given a bottle of bubbly for our anniversary but the room was the worst in the hotel. It was the only room that overlooked the parking/arrival area - all the other roms overlooked the lovely inner courtyard and being furthest from reception had really poor wifi connection. Impossibly poor - we had to use our own mobile data for the entire stay as their wifi just kept dropping out. Our room was also over the main delivery and kitchens area so each morning we were woken up by noisy clattering and banging about, plus vehicles reversing up the driveway. On the first morning we were woken to the noise and smell of the septic tank emptying truck which was directly below our room. . After two hours (we had been to breakfast and returned to our room to find it unhabitable due to the awful smell whilst the septic tank evacuation was taking place) I went to complain at reception and she just said that she too didn't know that the emptying trucck was due today and that it'll only be an hour. At that point the truck had been there at least two hours and we had to leave. We asked the hotel to open our windows whilst we were out after the truck had gone. Being north facing the room was very dark and had no sunlight. The windows had no privacy drapes so as we were overlooking the drivway approach to hotel reception we had to have the dark curtains closed all the time for my privacy. This must have been the poorest room of th entire hotel - what a shame to be given this room on our wedding anniversary. The spa was poor - both the jacuzzi and pool water were too cold (unusual for a jacuzzi to be too cold!) and there weren't enough loungers despite having to prebook your 45 minute timeslot in the spa. The treatment (facial) was excellent as was the lovely lady at the spa reception who called me to advise of a cancellation so I coud book my treatment at my preferred time

We have never stayed at Domaine de Manville as we always go to Baumanière. We thought we were going to give it a (small) try and booked a table at their Bistrot. In short, this was a big disappointment. One of the worst dinners of our lives. The Bistro is located in the hotel which is relatively new and really stands out as a hotel made by somebody from Paris in Provence. There is absolutely no local cachet with all the black color used in the building and the furniture being used in the lobby for example. We have not tried the Michelin starred restaurant but we did not find its setting very appealing as it is located close to the main pool in between buildings in a completely mineral environment. The Bistrot is located one level up behind the main building in some kind of mineral corridor. The location makes it extremely hot with almost no air coming. The staff is clearly not the staff one would generally have in a 5 star hotel. And more importantly I do not think they actually cook the food on site. My wife and I ordered the same fish but prepared differently, described as one of THE BISTROT’S MUST-HAVE, specifically the turbot. It came exactly the same way. Same piece of fish, cooked exactly the same, with the sides put exactly in the same way, the only difference being that I had some dressing in a small pot on the side. Along the same line the desserts are displayed on a cooled display shelf and also do not seem to be prepared on site. The food was not good; the other two adults with who we shared this dinner had exactly the same feeling. In any case, we were happy to go as we did not like anything about the setting of the hotel or the Bistrot itself and therefore will not book a stay there when we go back to the area.

Response from Pascal Pradeyrol, Marketing at Domaine De Manville
It's a lovely hotel and property but the lack of good customer relations let the place down badly. There was a 4 day private event before we arrived and we were told that the large DJ set up, next to the pool, would be removed prior to 3pm (check in time). At 7pm they were still taking it down and loudly. Our afternoon by the pool was spoilt. No apology or even any attempt to compensate guests (e.g free drinks). After 3 complaints and full payment of the bill they produced a 50% discount on another stay for one night next year, which cost them nothing as we have no plans to go back. The room was nice. The thumping music from the bar area all day does not help either if you are trying to relax. We ate in the gastronomic restaurant for dinner; we enjoyed the occasion of it all.; the food was innovative and well presented but the menus was limited (eg no meat other than pigeon). Very expensive for what it is (Euro 380 for 2 with modest wine). Needs better customer orientated attitude.

Five of us just spent 6 amazing days at the Domaine de Manville this month of June. We rented a villa so that we would have plenty of space and privacy. The Domaine is a wonderful resort built with love and elegance by its owners, Mr. & Mrs. Saut, to provide a low key but luxurious experience for their guests. They are delightful to get to know, and you can sense their touch in every detail, from the materials used to the furniture in the units to the helpfulness of the attentive (but non-obstrusive) staff. The concierge team, Julie and Gaël, is full of excellent recommendations and will help you plan your visits and your dinner reservations. Manon, in charge of housekeeping, will make sure you have everything you need. Jean-Luc and the team of valets will move your luggage, your cars, and help in any way possible. We discovered the Domaine 2 years ago, went back again with our kids this time to celebrate a big anniversary, and will certainly be back again soon. One other thing you should know is that the Domaine is very well located to access all the key sites you may wish to visit in Provence. And that there is a lot more to it than what I just covered!

We arrive at the Domaine right at Brunch time , so was a little busy but were checked in no time , room was ready which was great . Got a room on the ground floor, across from the pool. The room was very spacious, walk into a sitting room , where they was the mini bar , and coffee machine, as well as a desk, then went down a corridor where the full size bathroom , walk in shower , bathtub and restrooms were located , surprisingly they was a 2nd restroom, a large walk-in closet , with iron board , iron and safe , then the bedroom with king size bed , and TV . The room was so quiet , it was perfect . The minibar was stocked with white wine , flat water ( Thonon) , Badoit water, organic juice and snacks, chips and chocolate , refilled daily. All the staff was very helpful, we had a very nice walk to the walled castle , they offered water , and actually to drive us there. They also had availability at the Michelin starred restaurant ( L’Aupiho) which we went ahead and booked, this was a wonderful opportunity for us and truly enjoyed. The pool was at perfect temperature to just walk right in , it seems the depth was the same everywhere right around 5 ft , not busy , and very enjoyable , and so large . They had a variety of entertainment for kids , which was well thought off, large playground, with ping pong table and foosball , something for every age. It located in the middle of a pinède and olive grove , just dreamy . Personally everything was perfect , I have not complaint was so ever , will definitely stay there again if in the area. They also had charging station for those of you who need them and bicycles available. The concierge was also very helpful with all our requests

Room Tip: Seems like their Sunday Brunch is very popular , and keep in mind ( l’ Aupiho) is closed Mondays .

We stayed at the Domaine de Manville on the 16th of August 2024 with our 2,5 years old little boy. Prior to our arrival we provided all the informations regarding our stay and the bookings for the restaurants. And then the bad experience started. It was not our first stay at the hotel. On arrival we had to wait until 3:30 pm to get the room which was very late despite providing all the details to the team regarding our toddler and the nape time. The room was nice but we had a problem with the AC which was not cooling down. Despite several calls, nobody came to check on top of missing towels for us. Later on we ordered room service for the dinner of our little boy. We had to wait around 1h30 to get the food so he went to bed very late. After that we had our dinner planned with some friends at the Bistrot. We made a booking outdoor on purpose. When arriving at the restaurant, the manager of the bistrot Alex instantly told us that we will eat inside which was not an option for us considering the temperature of the room inside the restaurant and that one of our friend was pregnant 9 months almost. The manager Alex spoke to us in a very very mean way letting us speechless when it comes to the service of a 5 stars hotels. He was not nice at hotel and didn’t offer us any alternative solution. While telling him that the booking outdoor was confirmed from our side, he told us that this is not his problem and we just had to deal with it and have dinner inside or going somewhere else. From all the hotels we traveled to, nobody spoke to us like that or provided such a low level of service. This is simply unacceptable! If you want to go there, be very careful. The staff is mean to the guests and they have zero flexibility if you want to open the discussion. When you look at the prices this is simply overpriced for the level of service.

Dear @Thomas P, We are sincerely sorry to hear that your stay at Domaine de Manville did not meet your expectations. Your experience does not reflect the standards of service we strive to maintain, and we deeply regret the inconveniences you encountered. Regarding the wait for your room, we fully understand how uncomfortable this must have been, especially with a young child. We also want to extend our apologies for the issues related to the air conditioning, the missing towels, and the delay in room service. These incidents are unacceptable, and we will review our procedures to prevent them from happening again. We are particularly sorry for the incident at the Bistrot. The behavior you described from our team is in no way tolerable in our establishment. We will immediately investigate what happened and take the necessary measures to ensure this does not happen again. Your comfort and satisfaction are our priority, and we sincerely regret that you faced such a situation. We understand your frustration and are aware that this has greatly affected your perception of our establishment. If you agree, we would appreciate the opportunity to discuss your stay in more detail and consider how we could make it up to you. We flew into Marseille and rented a car at the airport for the drive up to Domaine de Manville and to explore the area. We arrived on Thursday midday and left early on Monday. In truth we used the hire car to get to and from the airport only!!!!!!!!! The hotel has 2 luxury vehicles (Mercedes and Audi) to take guests to local attractions, villages, restaurants etc. We used the service to go up to the walled town / castle of Les Baux de Provence; to go to L'Oustau de Baumaniere for lunch (Twice!!!! It is awesome!). The on-demand service is free to nearer attractions and for a drop-off / collection in St. Remy (which is about a 20 minute drive) it was €40.
The hotel will collect you at Marseille and return you there for €380 round trip..
With the benefit of hindsight, we need not have hired a car and we spent time in Les Baux and St. Remy - what we did not do was to spend a lot of time exploring the local countryside but that was the nature of our itinerary as part of a wedding weekend.
Natasha, the FOH Manager is English by birth and is a delight; Louis, the Concierge, speaks very good English and it may be that they could advise you on local tours to take in sights, lavender fields etc.
Did WE need to hire a car? I think the answer is no - but we had a lot of events to enjoy associated with the wedding that we were attending - and the Domaine is a delightful place to stay.
Driving around country lanes is easy enough and, from what we saw, very pleasant!!!! We did not go to Arles or to Avignon - having visited these towns previously but if you want to spend time at these sites (and they are amazing) then a car may be a good thing.
The more I think about it, if I have not been able to answer your questions correctly, I suggest that you drop a mail to Natasha Lattanzio at Domaine de Manville and tell her I said hi!!!!!
I have provided a politician's answer - for which I apologise!!!!! Neither one thing nor the other.......please let me know if I can provide responses to your actual itinerary.
Enjoy your stay ;-)
