We have stayed at the Woodview before and always enjoyed it. Even through the closures due to Covid, the family at Woodview kept the place spotless and always up to date. Room was large and very comfortable and the staff are attentive and always friendly. We had a very relaxing time with fantastic meals at the restaurant Graydon's. We will be back soon
Travelling to Gananoque and the Thousand Islands in the past, you may remember The Athlone, an upscale guest house and restaurant at the west end of town. Since John and Steven took over a few years ago, restoration to the building's 1877 glory has been total -- including a return to the original name, Woodview. No detail has been missed, and the Christmas decor last week sent us immediately into the warmth and festivity of the season. Our room was very comfortable with a spacious bathroom, both beautifully appointed. The dinner downstairs (Graydon's) was nothing short of exceptional -- meticulously crafted and presented. John, Steven and Robin are excellent hosts and are to be congratulated. We'll be back. Clive & Mary
My husband and I stayed at this charming Inn this weekend. What a lovely property. A fully restored victorian beauty. We really appreciated all the intricate attention to detail, from the railings to the high ceilinings, family pictures, beautiful trim and high baseboards. They were in the process of putting up the Christmas decorations, stunnning (Keep your hands of the Goose, above the mantal, lol) The spirit of Christmas was alive. The place was spot less, super clean. We received a wonderful welcome from the owners themselves. So hospitable, so friendly and attentive. Rooms we so lovely. Beds super comfortable. Very quiet property, we had a very restful sleep. The food at the restaurant was incredible. Over the top, great menu options. Great wine list. Robin made fantastic vodka martinis and took care of us all night. We will definitely be back!!…
We travelled to Gan for a weekend and stayed for a night at the Woodview. Beautiful old Inn very close to downtown and the water in a stately neighbourhood. Room was very comfy and quiet, large, well thought out bathroom, Breakfast basket was also welcome. Staff very friendly and lots of parking. We didn’t have a chance to dine at Graydon’s, but we’ll try again sometime as I’m sure we’ll be back. Highly recommended. Only downside was the difficulty using wi-fi (almost no signal in our room) and the complicated TV remotes made Tv watching troublesome.
We stayed at the Inn for 2 nights in October. What a find! John and Steve are excellent hosts, the inn is beautifully restored and decorated. We stayed in a garden suite which was small but immaculate. Next time we will book a room in the main inn. John gave us lots of info on the history of the inn and attractions nearby. Kingston is very close so a rainy windy day was spent there shopping and touring. We capped off our trip with dinner at The Graydon- which was excellent. We plan to return
