From booking to the stay itself, everything was perfect and all the details are personally taken care by Michele. She emailed me to confirm my estimated time of arrival, and by the time I arrived, everything is carefully taken note to make the next day breakfast perfect: She asked if I had any nutritional restrictions, allergies, if I had a preference for tea or coffee, what kind of juice I like, etc. I had added a charcuterie board to my reservation and when I got there the board was ready. The room is comfy and clean, the house is quiet, and Michele is an amazing host. I will not even think twice before booking a room at her place when I go back to Gananoque. The Bullock House is also one block far from the main road, and one block far from Metro supermarket. So the localization is priviledged. Thank you Michele, for making this restful experience the best in Gananoque!…
This beautiful old house is filled with interesting antiques. We stayed in the Godfrey room which had lots of space with a sitting room, balcony and spacious bathroom. Michele and Robert are welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was amazing! Everything was homemade and absolutely delicious and the table setting was lovely. We will be staying here again!
My boyfriend & I stayed at the Bulloch House for two nights and absolutely loved it! We were warmly greeted by one of the owners, Michele, who happily provided history of the house and area points of interest. We were then taken up to our room , the Gananoque Suite, and wow what a fabulous suite it was! From the luxurious bedding on a king size four poster bed to the lovely antique furniture, fireplace and access to the wraparound veranda, this room had it all!. We thoroughly enjoyed the homemade breakfasts, served on bone china in the dining room and it gave us the opportunity to share stories with other couples that were staying there. We will definitely return!
High Tea at the Bulloch House was very disappointing. We had booked the English Cream Tea Service for $39 per person, plus tax. Upon arrival, the table was set for tea and looked lovely. We were asked to wait in an adjacent room prior to being seated. The room was filthy - cluttered with boxes and junk on tables and desks, cobwebs everywhere. The washroom we were to use smelled of urine and was far from clean. All "baked" goods/sweets were grocery store purchased, not freshly made on site nor from a local bakery, just basic package cookies, stale cake, and squares that were definitely from the grocery store. Scones were suspect too. The sandwiches were tasty, but again, not what you would expect when booking high tea.
We chose this b&b because of the excellent reviews as well as it looked very nice on their website. Big mistake! We are a well travelled couple and this b&b does not live up to its reputation. Dark, musty common areas, dusty, not well appointed rooms and suites. We had no hot water in the sink so my husband had a hard time shaving. There are tiles missing on the bathroom floor which creates a ‘hole’ in which I always ended up tripping over. Musty shower curtain, no reading lamp in the ‘seating area’, and a dirty chandelier with cobwebs. Beds are soft and if you have a bad back as I do, you will wake up with problems. To top it all off, they do not provide housekeeping services so that your bed never gets made and your towels never changed. Breakfast is ok if you have a small appetite. The whole house needs maintenance. They should be ashamed charging these high rates for mediocre accommodations.…
We cannot recommend the Bulloch House more! The house itself is stunning, and you are surrounded by beautiful antiques and objet d'arts, all the while benefitting from all the modern eminities. Michele and Robert are absolutely lovely people, who make you feel at home from the first moment. From the delicious homemade breakfast served on fine bone china in a dining room fit for royalty, to the sumptuously appointed suites and the lovely wrap around veranda to relax or take high tea upon, not one detail was spared. But what struct us more than all this beauty was the hospitality, care and attention to detail we received. We will definitely be back! Laura and Bill
My wife and I stayed at Bullock House for two nights. Our hostess, Michelle, welcomed us warmly. This B&B is a gem; our stay was a real pleasure. We had the largest suite, which was not only spacious, but also very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was simply excellent and over the top. This is certainly the best B&B we have stayed at during our decades of travel to Europe and North America. Since we just dropped off our daughter at University in that area, we will definitely return and highly recommend it to all of our fellow travelers. Thank you, Michelle, for your kindness and hospitality.
Beautiful historic home located close to waterfront, attractions and restaurants. House was full of beautiful antiques, comfortable room and bed. Michelle was very personable and quite accommodating to special needs such as food sensitivities. Great breakfast! Will definitely check this out again in the future.
Cannot thank the hostess Michelle for her kindness and gratitude during our 4 night stay. Our last night in the new attic unit knocked my wife out. Breakfast was fabulous everyday. The Inn is within walking distance of everything we needed.
My wife and I spend a great weekend at the Bulloch House B&B. We stayed in the Bulloch Suite and loved the Balcony sitting area. Michelle was a great hostess and had many recommendations regarding the area. The B&B is within walking distance to everything which was very convenient. The breakfast was delicious …. I can’t say enough on how much we enjoyed it. Loved meeting the other guests that were in the B&B during breakfast as well. We will definitely be back for another stay. Highly recommend staying here. Thanks again Michelle
