Rooms were clean and nicely furnished, with an updated look. There is a small fridge and microwave. The best thing about this hotel was they actually took the time to adjust the room doors so they close softly without banging, but the outside door at the bottom of the back stairs slams when it closes.

Ironically the worst thing was the beds now have a metal box frame for the mattress to sit on. It bangs, and boings with the slightest movement, and the handles for this contraption stick out past the edge of the mattress. I ended up moving the mattress out slightly so I wouldn't bang my legs. Whoever thought this was a good idea?? There is no way to sleep soundly because with every small shift in weight it sounds like a gong. You can even hear it from the room next door! They should have kept the old box springs and invested in new mattresses instead! That would ensure a good nights sleep, which is what travellers are looking for!

There is no breakfast here anymore because of Covid. Other hotels in the Choice chain are offering items in a safe way, but not this hotel.

The water at this hotel is EXTREMELY hot, so we had to be very careful.

The TV channels listed in the hotel booklet are about half of what are supposed to be there. The remote wasn't programmed properly so you are scrolling through channel after channel that isn't available.

Don't think we will be back to this hotel.

The Econolodge readily accepted the two pets that we were travelling with no exorbitant pet fees. The room that we stayed in was clean but, much in need of a refresh. The bedding in the room was clean Both beds had a basic mattress A heavier weight of blanket would have been appreciated but, the heat was easily adjusted to compensate Paint is peeling in the room and bathroom, The bathroom towel rack was coming away from the wall. The staff was friendly and the hotel was within walking distance of several restaurant

I have to say, it is the staff that makes staying here worthwhile. Other than that, I wasn't all that impressed. No coffee in the room-they sometimes have some in the breakfast room. And by "breakfast" I mean, well let's just say go to McDonalds or The Bayside. No obvious smoking area. Bed was like sleeping on a mattress filled with chaff. The pillows, internet, fridge and cable choices were up to snuff tho! Outlets near the bed were much appreciated. Definitely could use some upgrades though. No bugs, quite clean, and well worth the price we paid. There is also a Burger King next door which was a plus.

Service is terrible. We needed to cancel the day of stay due to Illness and desk clerk was not polite. We never got a refund because desk clerk said we took a shower in the room however, that is impossible given we never checked in.

I’ve written before and I will write again, I don’t know how this place remains open. I’ve made phone calls and complaints and nothing has been done. Just driving past this place gives me the Creeps. The last time I was there actually left me creeped right the f**ck out that I still become squeamish. Stay away, stay far away…. Im sorry but I’m just being honest when I say this place is what it is because of the burn-outs who patronize it on a long term basis. This place is not for families or couples in any way shape or form. When I was there I stayed up all night just waiting for morning so we could get right the hell outta there. My recommendation is Casino Rama all the way. Super clean, comfy and bed linens and towels that are actually fresh and don’t look like they’ve been used to wipe a dogs ass. Spread the word…… this place is a huge steaming dump!!!

This is by far the nastiest hotel I have ever stayed in .After we checked in with the not so friendly person at the front desk, we were instructed our room was upstairs, and there was no elevator and no luggage cart to help you bring your luggage in from your car..I noticed a half drank burger king cup with a what looked like a half eaten burger and straw strewn across a shelf by the staircase, which was still there in the AM when we checked out..The hallway carpets were stained, the hallways were so musty smelling, the ceiling and walls in the rooms had terrible water stains, the beds were so hollow in the middle you had to get drunk to fall asleep on them. The bed skirt was suppose to be white ours was black, the lounge chair in our room had a huge, what looked like a urine stain on it and the other side had what looked like a huge die or ink stain on it.
the washroom was disgustingly dirty along with the bathtub had all the enamel wearing off it.
the look that is suppose to flip over to help with the knob lock was literally hanging off..
would have really helped keep us safe...NOT!
when we drove around the back to initially enter the hotel at the back of the building,it looked like a crack house, filthy dirty, garbage all over the place, not to mention the guy in the parking lot living in his van...
ths place is disgusting!
They Should be paying people to stay HERE!
breakfast in the AM was suppose to be a banana and a juice box,As you can imagine there was a huge lineup...Again not!

Checked in and walked out! The place is a dump. The room stank of cigarette smoke, cigarette burns in the linen, the beds were awful, the place has not been maintained for a long time. Looked like some long-term residents were in rooms. Not that we use the phone, but the unit on the table had no buttons. People in the back parking lot fixing their vehicle. We were told when leaving that we would be issued a refund when our booking company contacted them. No luck so far.

We have stayed in the Econolodge before, but never again.
My father and I booked a 2 queen bed motel room on the main floor directly with the front desk. When we arrived, my father found out that they had given our room to someone else. The front desk tried to claim we ordered the room from another service several times until I caught her in her excuses.
My father was offered a 2 king-size bed room, so he began to move our items inside, and it reeked of heavy cigarette usage, so my dad refused the room. So much for a no-smoking building.
With no elevator for the heavy items, we went up the stairs to find the 2 double bed rooms, as our next offered room was filthy. The carpet had garbage and dust balls all over the floor and even needed to be carpet cleaned. It had a broken toilet. The fridge was full of frost, so it did not work. The light stand in the room wouldn't work, which we fixed. We then found the TV needed 2 remotes to work and had to guess the channels since only a few buttons worked. My father is 190 pounds, and his bed creaked severely, so he sat on the other side of the bed, and the bed immediately broke to the floor.
My father went again to the front desk and firmly asked for a replacement room and insisted he check it before we moved into it. He found the room beside ours in the same terrible condition, and the mattress was also badly damaged.
This place has become a terrible place to stay.

We have stayed in hotels and motels across Canada, he USA and many other countries as recently as 2 weeks previous to this nightmare. Without exception, the Econlodge in Orillia, Ontario ranks as the worst dump, ever. The young Kady who checked us in around 8 pm (we, unfortunately, had guaranteed our arrival/stay by credit card) was the best and only decent thing about this dump. She was friendly and informative.
Upon entering the room, my jaw dropped. As I closed the door behind me, I immediately noticed the obvious damages to the door. Then, I noticed the shelf/ closet and how the shelf was littered with debris. The carpet was filthy and disgusting. The dresser had huge chunks broken off of it. The fridge, filthy on top. The couch was ripped and torn and the door to the parking lot was very insecure. Feeling 100% certain that to complain to anyone who would keep a motel in such a disgusting state would be a waste of breath. Being that we were stuck having been charged $136 for this disgusting and filthy place and had no hope if finding better nearby
Y at this time of night we secured the doors by blocking them with furniture. At least the TV worked. Of course, neither of us slept much and by 6 a.m., we simply left. This ranks as by far the worst place we have ever stayed in.

This hotel is is horrible, stay away. I can't believe they even charge, they should pay you to stay there.
The stairwell smelt of urine, the carpeting in the halls was peeling off and disgusting. We got into our room and there was pee and toilet paper in the toilet. The bathroom floor was sticky, the bath drape had stains on it, the toilet was coming off its base and there were gross stains on the floor. There was lose change in the bed, and the blanket was stained. You could feel the springs in the mattress, we couldn't sleep the whole night, and my husband's back was in pain when we left. The floor near the bathroom had an air gap, and it left a space between the floor. When we came in the room the air conditioning was set to 62, there was literally frost on the windows (we were freezing).
In my opinion, they need to rip this place down.
